Welcome to the 10th edition of the High Point University Sport Management Newsletter! This milestone issue proudly celebrates the people, experiences, and achievements that make our department so special. From exclusive interviews and student spotlights to professional development events and club updates, this edition highlights the incredible opportunities that shape our Sport Management community Whether you’re a current student, alumnus, or industry professional, this issue offers a glimpse into the energy, passion, and collaboration that define the HPU Sport Management experience We are so proud of how our students continue to grow, lead, and represent HPU on and off campus Their dedication, creativity, and drive remind us why Sport Management at High Point University is truly extraordinary

The Sport Management Association has had an exciting start to October!

Members watched the Charlotte Hornets play at the Greensboro Coliseum, enjoying a night of basketball and networking The club also held its second meeting on October 20th in NQSC 381, where the SMA Executive Council served as guest speakers. udents shared insights into their experiences and discussed internship opportunities, including SGA representative Carly Proctor, who sat on the panel and shared valuable advice from her own experiences

Women Leaders in Sport kicked off October with a CPD professional development session, giving members the chance to enhance their leadership skills and connect with peers in the field Later in the month, the club held its second meeting on October 29th at 7:00 p m in NQSC 232, featuring a fun pumpkin-decorating activity that encouraged creativity and team bonding among members WLS continues to empower members to grow as leaders while building a strong, supportive community within the Sport Management department

October Review & November Playbook

October wrapped up with great energy and momentum! From competitions and club meetings to professional development and community events, our Sport Management students continue to shine A huge thank-you to everyone who participated, supported, and represented our department so well this month Special recognition goes to our Social Media Team for capturing these moments and helping share our story across platforms

November promises to keep the excitement going with opportunities to learn and connect. We’ll kick things off with Tanner Natzke, Manager of Premium Sales for Tepper Sports & Entertainment, who will join us for a guest speaker event on November 4th at 6:00 p.m. His insights into sports sales and fan engagement are sure to inspire This is a chance for students to gain real-world perspectives and ask questions about careers in professional sports.

Later in the week, students will visit Hendrick Motorsports for an exclusive behind-the-scenes facility tour on November 7th at 3:30 p m This incredible hands-on experience will offer a closer look at one of the most successful and innovative organizations in motorsports And to round out the week, the department will take part in SEVT at the University of South Carolina on November 8th, a highlight of the semester for all passionate Sport Management students
