ACADEMIC TIERS • LEARNING ACCELERATOR: One-hour, academic coaching session per week. • SKILLS ENHANCER: One-hour academic coaching session taking place two days per week. • ACADEMIC ACHIEVER: One-hour academic coaching session taking place three days per week. • A weekly summary report is available to parents and students at the end of each week. The report includes grading updates for all classes, academic tracking and coursework management strategies used, professional tutoring feedback, and detailed notes from the student’s one-on-one meeting(s).
WE DO NOT.... • Provide support for students who require social, independent living, and/or personal skill development. • Provide professional tutoring in other academic areas except for writing, reading, and math. • Contact professors on a weekly basis. • Act as a your student’s personal assistant, complete coursework for your student, or follow up with your student on a daily basis.

KEY INFORMATION • An application is required to enroll in the Learning Excellence Program. • The LE Program fills on a first-come, first-served basis each semester. Apply early! • Student partnership and parent partnership are required in the LE Program. • Families renew their enrollment on a semester-by-semester basis.

ECOSYSTEM OF SUPPORT • Learning Excellence is an independent, fee-based program. The Learning Excellence Program operates separately from the Office of Student Success and the Office of Accessibility Resources and Services; however, we collaborate with all offices across campus to support your student.

In our opinion, the Learning Excellence program offered at HPU is the best in the country. We toured and interacted with numerous other similar college programs across the country before committing to HPU. The Learning Excellence program has lived up to everything we could’ve imagined it would be this first semester. Our LE specialist goes above and beyond for our son and family. It has been a near seamless transition for our son and the LE program is the catalyst for his growth and development so far this freshman year. This program has been extremely helpful and has exceeded my wildest expectations. It is a fantastic concept and very well executed. We have had a wonderful experience with Learning Excellence these past four years. My student always felt like she was supported and got the help she needed. I am grateful that this program held my student accountable for her academics and helped guide her to success.
