Project Vision Partner in providing a resource that brings the Highlands Ranch community together and promotes healthy movement. Create a co-branded UCHealth – HRMD Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) permanent fitness structure to activate with health and wellness programming.

HRMD Project Goals • Provide a park amenity where adults are the primary audience • Inclusive of younger and older ages • Leverage community partner to improve existing park • Establish foundation for long term positive partnership with UCHealth

• NRPA – May 2013 – Hit the (Outdoor) Gym – increasing popularity of outdoor gyms, progress from fitness trail to fitness zones in parks, allow people to exercise together

Activation/Programming Vision • UCHealth experts host classes and offer screenings • Classes taught by Avalanche/Nuggets/Mammoth staff with team player and mascot appearances • HRMD fitness programs from local fitness providers • Possible digital content associated with selected equipment
Roles & Responsibilities: • Commit to funding the entirety of the project, up to $180,000 • Serve as consultants in selection of equipment, design and programming • Commit to programming the space up to 12 times annually at a mutually agreeable cadence • Actively collaborate on creative design • Represent KSE’s interest in project
Roles & Responsibilities: • Approve final branding recommendations • Communicate with UCHealth to support programming and promotion in alignment with UCHealth partnership
Roles & Responsibilities: • Approve installation on District property • Assume ownership of the equipment • Insure Outdoor Fitness Park as with all playgrounds • Provide preventive and reactive maintenance on equipment • Manage program reservation schedule • Program as desired for the community
Funding • Kroenke Sports Enterprise contributes some funding to UC Health • UCHealth distributes total funds to HRMD • HRMD to accept first payment prior to June 30, 2022 • Agree to return unspent funds if project is abandoned
Next Steps • Shea Properties to convey Central Park to HRMD • Spring 2022: Complete review of equipment options • Early Summer 2022: Accept public input on installation • Fall 2022: Recommend contract to board • Complete installation upon equipment delivery
Discussion • Should HRMD engage in partnership with UCHealth? • Should HRMD accept $180,000 from UCHealth to fund an Outdoor Fitness Park installation at Central Park?
