Celebrate National Senior Center Month this September This year’s theme—Happier Birthdays Happen Here—celebrates the moments, connections and opportunities that help people not only live longer, but live well. Happier birthdays don’t start with candles or cake, they start with connection, purpose, support and community. Every day, people walk through the doors of our Senior Center and find exactly that—friendships that matter, programs that energize and resources that make each year stronger than the last. Senior centers bring essential services, opportunities and support together in one place. Every day, they strengthen individuals and communities by: • Creating welcoming spaces for connection and community so people feel more connected and less isolated • Providing programs that support physical and mental health so more people stay active and engaged in daily life • Linking people to benefits, resources and critical services that support stability and independence
• Offering opportunities for learning, creativity and engagement to build confidence, relationships and a sense of belonging • Supporting caregivers and families so older adults can age in place This is how senior centers help individuals lead healthier, more connected and happier years. This September, invest in your health and well-being and join us as we celebrate the people, connections and community that make our Senior Center special. Happier birthdays happen here.
