Fundraising purchases have made an impact
Since the Senior Center opened in January 2024, the Friends have paid or committed $34,615 of their fundraising dollars towards items that benefit Senior Center members. These include financial scholarships for members, Game Room furniture, installation of the washing machine, Celebration Tree, coffee server, special event supplies and sound system upgrades. If you have a suggestion for additional items to benefit the membership, attend a Friends Board Meeting and share your ideas.

Construction work underway on Highlands Ranch Parkway
The construction in our parking lot is slated to finish early in July (weather permitting). Please watch your speed through the Senior Center and church parking lots. The posted speed is 15 miles per hour. We are very grateful to Mountainview Christian Church for allowing us to park on their lot during the concrete repairs. Please do not walk up the driveway, use the marked trail.
Construction on Highlands Ranch Parkway between Burntwood Way and Broadway will continue through early fall. Please add an extra 15 minutes to your drive time to accommodate for any delays in traveling to the Senior Center. To keep updated on the construction progress, subscribe to the Cone Zone updates at douglasco.gov/public-works/cone-zone/ and select Road Work/Cone Zone or visit the project webpage at douglasco.gov/publicworks/transportation-projects/. We thank you for your patience.
Help determine the future of Historic Park
For Highlands Ranch residents and visitors, the Highlands Ranch Mansion has long been a beloved landmark, and its story is far from over. On April 30, 2026, Shea Homes conveyed 197 acres of ranch land to the Metro District, expanding the area owned and managed by the organization around the Mansion to nearly 250 acres. The land features open pastureland, sweeping mountain views, 13 historic barns and farm buildings and an iconic windmill. The vision for this property is to preserve it as a passive park, a natural, heritage-focused space where residents can explore the outdoors, connect with the history of the region and enjoy the beauty that makes Highlands Ranch special. There will be no sports fields, and any future uses must complement existing Mansion programming.
Community outreach is kicking off with a series of neighborhood and community meetings this

Now is the time to get involved! Community meetings are scheduled this summer. These meetings will be held at the Senior Center:
• Community Meeting #2: Wednesday, July 22, 3 p.m.
• Community Meeting #3: Monday, August 17, 5:30 p.m.
These meetings are open to the community. The same information will be presented at both meetings.
