TIME TO GET OUTDOORS As springtime beckons us to spend time outdoors and enjoy nature, we’ll be hitting the trails and enjoying time in our beautiful local parks. AAPS continues to meet for Morning Coffee Chats, lunches, social hours and dinners, and host Lifelong Learning opportunities at Douglas County Libraries at Highlands Ranch, with participation growing monthly. We hope you’ll check out all the great offerings and plan to join us. It’s a great way to meet new people and learn what others are doing for fun. Information is also posted at highlandsranch.org/aaps. To check on availability and to register, visit highlandsranch.org/signmeup. Trouble registering? Call 303-791-2710 and our staff will help. For information and updates regarding the Highlands Ranch Senior Center project, please visit highlandsranch.org/seniorcenter or contact Mike Renshaw at 720-240-4910 or mrenshaw@highlandsranch.org.

Q: I am a caregiver for my parent who still lives in their home. Are services available to step in when I cannot be there or to give me an occasional break? A: Yes, a licensed non-medical in-home care agency can provide companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, transportation and more. Agencies are bonded and insured. There are also county-directed services and benefits that provide these services, giving you the support and break you need so you can continue to be a healthy and involved care provider. Q: I am new to Highlands Ranch and would like to meet new people, find activities and take classes. What is available to me and where do I find the information? A: The Metro District’s Active Adult Program & Services (AAPS) provides activities, lifelong learning and social opportunities to help meet new people and feel connected in the community. Visit highlandsranch.org/signmeup and click on the Active Adults (Seniors) box. AAPS Coordinator Jodie McCann can direct you to other local lifelong learning classes. For more information and help locating services, please contact Jodie McCann at jmccann@highlandsranch.org or 720-240-4922.
