10 TIPS FOR LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE Aging is the ultimate team sport. Staying engaged with friends. Making new friends and connections is essential to our overall well-being. Imagine what you would like your future to be and ask yourself these questions: • Am I staying involved with the world and people I care about? • Am I taking good care of my body, mind and spirit? • Am I making me a priority? • Am I in control of my finances? • Am I having fun and enjoying life? Treat yourself and others with kindness and respect. Take care of you – mind, body and soul. Source: aarp.org

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU: FAQs Q: I am new to Highlands Ranch and would like to meet new people, find activities and take classes. What is available to me and where do I find information? A: The Metro District’s Active Adult Program & Services (AAPS) provides recreational activities, lifelong learning and social opportunities to help you meet new people and feel connected in the community. Visit highlandsranch.org/signmeup and click on the Active Adults (Seniors) box. They can also be found on the AAPS Events page at highlandsranch.org/activeadults. AAPS coordinator Jodie McCann, can direct you to other local lifelong learning opportunities. Q: I am a caregiver for my parent who still lives in their home. Are services available that could step in when I cannot be there or to give me an occasional break? A: Yes. A licensed non-medical in-home care agency can provide companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, transportation and more. Agencies are bonded and insured. There are also county-directed services and benefits that provide these services, giving you the support and break you need so that you can continue to be a healthy and involved care provider. Q: I sometimes need a ride to the doctor, grocery store or other places around town. Is there transportation available to me? A: Yes. There are several private and county-directed services that can help you with transportation needs. Contact Jodie at jmccann@highlandsranch.org or 720-240-4922. For more information and help locating services, please contact Jodie McCann at jmccann@highlandsranch.org or 720-240-4922. Visit highlandsranch.org/aaps for more information.
