2015 T aste Exhibit ofthe Good Taste – Triangle
The Taste of the Triangle has become the Southeast Texas kickoff event for Lent. One last night of feasting before your family starts their fast. This year promises to be bigger than ever with several new restaurants and local food producers in addition to your old favorites. Some of the restaurants generating buzz this year include: Suga’s Deep South Cuisine, The Neches River Wheelhouse, and Green Light Kitchens. The event is held at The Beaumont Civic Center, so there is plenty of parking and a great opportunity to bring your family downtown. Each restaurant and caterer brings their signature dishes: ribs, steaks, pizza, gumbo, wings, pasta, cakes, pies, cookies, coffee, and so much more. Your family will also enjoy great Cajun music from Billy Poullard and his Zydeco Band. Tickets this year are exclusively available through the Beaumont Civic Center office. Fun for the Whole Family – Girls Haven Gumbo Fest 2015 Are you looking for a family friendly event to enjoy this month? Girls' Haven is excited to announce that the 21st Annual Gumbo Festival is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2015. Their annual gumbo cook-Off will be held once again at the Parkdale Mall Parking Lot. Enjoy some of the best SETX gumbo in three categories: seafood, poultry and combination. There is also a People's Choice award your family can vote on. The Gumbo Festival is scheduled from 11am – 5pm. There will be live entertainment from Lamar Port Arthur Section 51, Long Neck Road, Kaiser Brothers (KY-Zer), The Mud flats and Stone Cold Band. Your kids will enjoy Sonny "The Bird Man" Carlon’s live animal show. There will also be a brand new kid's area with pony rides, a petting zoo, and inflatable moonwalks. Gumbo tickets are sold on-site. Admission and Parking is FREE. $7.00 is for a large bowl of your favorite gumbo or 4 small bowls of different gumbo, in case you can't choose just one!
