On 10/10/2020, Hiddenfjord stopped using air freight. By replacing this major contributor to global CO₂ emissions with sea freight, we reduced our carbon footprint for overseas transport by 94%, or approx. 60,000 tonnes CO₂, year on year. transportation of goods.

Air freight is a major contributor to global CO₂ emissions, and a large part of fresh farmed s almon is exported to global markets by air. A 2020 report by independent Norwegian research organis ation, SINTEF, showed that freight carried by air produces around transoceanic sea freight.
