TARA COMMUNITY NEWS

MESSAGE FROM PHILLIP PARSH, PRESIDENT

I’d like to take a few minutes to look back at 2025 and share where we’re headed in 2026.

As we all remember, last year started with some real challenges. The two hurricanes that passed through near the end of 2024 left us with significant damage to the golf course and clubhouse. In total, repairs were close to $1,000,000, with insurance covering all but about $300,000. The most noticeable damage was to the clubhouse roof, so we decided to replace all three roofs to ensure our main gathering place is well protected for years to come.

But 2025 wasn’t just about repairs — it was also about moving forward.

Over the year, we:

· Opened the long-awaited pickleball facility

· Refreshed the landscaping at the front of the club

· Transitioned to Club Essentials software

· Upgraded our irrigation control systems

· Began replacing 2,000 sprinkler heads across the course

As you look around the property, you can really see the difference. A lot of work went into improving Tara, and I’m happy to report that we also ended the year financially strong.

Now we are moving to 2026. The clubhouse refresh is officially underway and is expected to be completed this fall. Big projects always come with a few surprises, but please know your Board and management team are staying closely involved to keep things on track and within budget.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your pride in our community. Tara remains a special place because of the people who live here.

Our next regular Board meeting will be held on March 23 at 3:00 PM. We’d love to see you there.

TARA COMMUNITY NEWS

Dear Members,

Spring has arrived at Tara, and with it comes that unmistakable energy that makes this time of year so special. The days are a little longer, the course is vibrant and full of life, and the clubhouse is buzzing with activity. March is when we see the largest concentration of our membership enjoying everything Tara has to offer — and it is wonderful to see.

Clubhouse Refresh Update

The Refresh Construction Project is moving along very nicely — and very quickly.

As with any renovation of this scale, once walls are opened up, you discover a few unexpected surprises. We have certainly encountered some of those moments. The good news? None of them have caused any slowdown to the project. In fact, the team has maintained strong momentum and continues to move at an impressive pace.

We remain on target for a fall completion , and each week brings visible progress that is exciting to see. The transformation taking place behind the scenes will result in a space that reflects the vibrancy and pride of our community.

A Busy and Beautiful Season

March is historically our busiest month — the course, practice facilities, dining venues, and social events are all operating at full stride. It is truly the heartbeat of our season.

With that energy, however, comes a little extra activity:

· Increased traffic around the clubhouse

· Construction noise during working hours

· Additional vendor and contractor presence

We ask for your continued patience as the refresh progresses. The shortterm inconvenience will absolutely be worth the long-term improvement to your club experience.

Looking Ahead

Spring represents renewal — and that is exactly what is happening here at Tara. The combination of a thriving membership season and a rapidly advancing clubhouse transformation makes this an exciting chapter for our community.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your pride in Tara. We are building something special together.

Here’s to a busy, vibrant March — and an even brighter fall ahead.

Respectfully,

As we prepare for our upcoming Board of Directors elections, we kindly ask members to take a moment to review their member profile information before voting envelopes are mailed.

For members who maintain multiple residences or live out of state or abroad, please note that the Florida statutes require us to mail election materials to each address listed on your account. To avoid having materials sent to outdated addresses, we kindly ask that you review your profile and ensure only your current and preferred mailing address remains on file.

We also encourage members to ensure a current photo is uploaded on their profile. Updated photos are extremely helpful for billing accuracy and allow our staff to better match names with faces, helping us continue to provide a personalized member experience.

Keeping your profile information current helps ensure a smooth and accurate election process.

Thank you for your time and cooperation, we truly appreciate it.

TARA GOLF HAPPENINGS

MESSAGE FROM MISSY WILLIAMS, HEAD GOLF PRO 941.758.7961 x1226 | mwilliams@taragcc.com

The golf season is in full swing, and with it, the weather is warming up! That means more opportunities to hit the golf course and or driving range.

As highlighted in previous emails, parking and the limited space available pose challenges. A ONE WAY ZONE has been established in the area between the clubhouse and the pro shop, directing traffic toward hole 10. Please do not try to return to the cart staging area from there by going back toward the pro shop or range area. Instead, proceed in front of the clubhouse until the renovations are fully completed.

What are “action zones”? During any rain event, action zones may be marked on the GPS to indicate wet areas. We designate these as “NO GO” zones, which will be visible on the GPS units. When the weather poses challenges, it’s important to monitor the GPS units and listen for alerts that notify you of these zones. Remember to turn up the volume on your GPS before your round for better audibility.

Why should you order food before arriving at the snack shack? Doing so helps prevent delays on holes 10 and 1. If you have a special order, feel free to use your cell phone to call it in while on the tee of hole 9 or hole 18. This system works well, as there are also patrons at the pool being served by the attendant, so golfers aren’t the only ones using the snack and beverage services that Tara provides.

Finally, let’s talk about the DRESS CODE. It’s crucial to be aware of the dress code and to inform any guests who may be visiting from out of town. Spring Break is approaching and if you have guest and family visiting, please make them aware to bring appropriate clothing for the driving range and golf course.

Missy Williams

Congratulations to Rosmarie Buxbaum and Kevin Maloney for winning the TWGA Jack and Jill event!

TARA COURSE HAPPENINGS

MESSAGE FROM DON ABELL, COURSE

941.751.5593 | dabell@taragcc.com

Weed Control on the Golf Course

One of the key elements in providing superior conditions is a very good weed control program. Weed control is one of the most time consuming jobs we perform. On a daily basis we have one or two employees spot spraying weeds with post-emergent herbicides at the proper labeled rate. For weeds to be controlled or eradicated with post-emergent products, they must be visible and actively growing.

Not only do we treat weeds after they have emerged, we treat them before they have a chance to germinate. This is performed by applying a pre-emergent to turf areas three times a year. Because weeds come from seed in the soil it becomes a challenge to control the weed population with just spot spraying. The pre-emergent creates a barrier at the top of the soil layer not allowing the weed seed to properly germinate stopping the weed from emerging. Pre-emergents only control weeds that have not emerged, which is why timing is very important to control certain weeds at different times of the year. Typically, January, May and September is when the pre-emergent will be applied.

We generally try to time our wall to wall fertilizer applications and preemergent applications together. Because of today’s technology we are able to coat the fertilizer granules with the pre-emergent of choice and apply both products at the same time. By combining these applications we save time and money to allow our staff to concentrate on all other key elements to providing quality conditions.

MESSAGE FROM BRYAN ALLEN, F&B MANAGER

941.756.7775 ext.1225 | bryana@taragcc.com

Spring is upon us, bringing with it beautiful weather, pristine fairways, and the perfect opportunity to spend time with friends and family here at the club. There’s nothing better than seeing our course full of smiling faces and our clubhouse buzzing with conversation after a great round of golf.

I want to personally thank all of you for attending some of our newer events. As someone newer to administration, it has been incredibly rewarding to see so many members come out, participate, and support these gatherings. Your enthusiasm and engagement mean so much — and we’re just getting started!

As many of you know, we are moving further into our remodel construction. With progress comes a bit of disruption, and I sincerely ask for your patience during this time. It can be loud, and our shared spaces are temporarily more limited than usual. Please know we are doing everything we can to ensure everyone has comfortable space — whether you’re enjoying a card game with friends, relaxing with drinks after your round, or sitting down for a nice meal with family.

We kindly ask that you extend grace not only to one another, but also to our hardworking staff. They are navigating these changes right alongside you and are committed to making your experience as enjoyable as possible.

The temporary inconveniences will soon give way to something truly special. We cannot wait to unveil the newly remodeled space and share in your excitement when it’s complete.

Thank you,

Bryan Allen

TARA MASTER COMMUNICATION

MESSAGE FROM

We’re excited to share that the Tara Boulevard Enhancement Project is officially moving forward!

What’s happening?

The Landscape Committee has completed a full walk-through of the landscape architect’s plan and approved it. The plan is to reduce maintenance by replacing specific trees in the medians with lower maintenance varieties, such as self-cleaning Royal and Foxtail palms. Plants currently around the tree bases will be removed to improve line of sight and the flowerbeds at the end of the medians will remain colorful flowers.

· Start date: Mid March

· Project duration: Approximately 3–4 weeks

· What you’ll notice: Temporary and varying lane blockages as crews work along the boulevard. An email will be sent from TMA prior to the commencement of the project.

Watering & irrigation (good news!)

New installations:

You may be wondering how new plantings will be watered given the current watering restrictions in effect (one day per week until July 1, 2026 ). According to the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) , new plant material qualifies for a 60-day establishment period :

New Lawns and Plants – Establishment Period

· Days 1–30: Watering allowed daily

· Days 31–60: Watering allowed 3 times per week

Existing Grass/Flowers/Plants:

The common area irrigation system along Tara Blvd is very large and complex. It consists of more than 2,000 individual irrigation heads that are operated by 14 separate irrigation controllers. Due to the size of the property, and system limitations, it isn’t possible to water all areas in a single day. Under SWFWMD guidelines, properties with multiple irrigation controllers are allowed to water more than one day per week, provided that each individual controller is set to operate on a single day per week. The TMA is following this rule. By staggering the irrigation schedule across multiple days, we are able to properly maintain the landscaping, avoid system overload and ensure all applicable water management rules are adhere to.

Our landscape vendor has coordinated directly with SWFWMD to ensure all irrigation needs are properly approved and compliant.

Our service area

We encourage residents to report any landscape issues within our boundaries, which are the outer borders around the TGCC community:

· From SR 70 and up Tara Boulevard (east & west side and medians);

· To Tara Preserve Lane , continuing west along Linger Lodge Road (north side only);

· Along Braden River Road (east side only); ending at the wall surrounding TGCC

Stay in touch

If you notice concerns, would like to be on our committee or have questions, please reach out to us at: tmalandscaping1@gmail.com

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance the beauty and safety of Tara Boulevard. We’re excited to see the transformation take shape!

Best Regards,

Our new courts are designed for optimal play, with a proper hard-court surface and for those evening games, the courts are equipped with excellent lighting to ensure the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.

Join the pickleball craze

Pickleball’s popularity is soaring. It’s a dynamic sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, making it easy to learn but challenging to master. It is a great way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Everyone is encouraged to visit the new courts. Bring your paddles, invite friends, and get ready to enjoy pickleball!

GOLF COMMITTEE

Rounds Played: 4,896

January was a strong month for golf activity at the club. We recorded 4,896 rounds, an increase of 400 rounds over last year. Despite several frost delays, which unfortunately led to some tee-time cancellations, participation remained strong. A special thank you to Missy for implementing our new spreadsheet system to better track rounds throughout the season.

Member/Member Tournament

The Member/Member tournament has been canceled for this year. We plan to reintroduce it next year with a new title and will reevaluate the cost, as it may have been set slightly high.

Junior Golfer Proposal: The junior golfer proposal was returned by the Board of Directors for additional consideration. The updated recommendation would allow juniors to play earlier than the current 3:00 pm restriction for walkers on weekends, holidays, and during the summer months. All juniors would be required to receive approval from the Head Golf Professional to ensure proper knowledge of golf and etiquette before gaining expanded playing privileges.

Summer Memberships

Summer memberships were discussed and the committe recommended the number be capped at 50 memberships this year. For comparison, we had 31 last season. Last year’s program was very successful, and we hope to build on that momentum. We will be mindful of pricing to ensure continued strong participation.

Nine & Dine

Nine & Dine has been rescheduled for March 29. We look forward to a great turnout for this fun and social event.

Korn Ferry Qualifier – March 30

We are still seeking volunteers for the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifier on March 30. Volunteers will work a four-hour shift and have the opportunity to enjoy some outstanding golf before or after their scheduled time. This is a great way to support the event and experience high-level competition up close. Please consider helping out! Sign up in the pro shop.

Tee Box Update – Hole #4

We are exploring relocating the #4 tee box to align with the #1, #2, and #3 tee boxes. Alan, Chair of the Greens Committee, will bring this proposal to the next committee meeting.

Clubhouse Construction

With new construction underway, we appreciate everyone’s patience. Please use extra caution when driving golf carts around the clubhouse area and follow the one-way system recently implemented.

HOUSE COMMITTEE - FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS

Dear Tara Members,

Clubhouse Refresh Update

The Clubhouse Refresh has begun. Demolition has started in both the patio and the dining room. Yes, there is going to be some inconvenience experied at the club for the next several months. However, the clubhouse will never be closed, and Tara Management and team will continue to offer the food and beverage service to the members. Please be patient as we make Tara a better place for all members. Thanks to Missy for sending out the video updates on the construction progress.

Queen of Hearts Drawing

Tickets will be sold on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. They are $2.00 CASH ONLY. Watch for the email flyer with rules and additional information coming out. Congratulations to our winners - Teresa Johnson, Tom Orchard, Ray Hupp, and Nora Lissy. The jackpot continues to grow. As a friend has told me-“Can’t win if you are not in.” Happy Hour drink prices on Thursday for the drawing and dinner service.

Food & Beverage

Please make reservations so our members can enjoy a great experience at Tara. We have many events coming up in March and April so make your reservations in advance. Please remember that we have new staff members, and they will need to ask you for your member number. Especially with the renovation started. If you see a name on a table for a reservation, please do not take the name off and take the table.

Sparkle Committee

Painting on the clubhouse is coming along and looking great. New rope was installed in the pool. Additional items have been identified by Pam, Melissa, and Brett and his team are working on getting those items completed.

Sincerely,

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

New Feature – Member Spotlight: Celebrating Our Dedicated Volunteers

Tara Golf and Country Club is fortunate to have an incredible community of volunteers. Over the years, many of our members have served on multiple committees and in a variety of roles—generously sharing their time, talents, and passion to make Tara the special place it is today.

YES – You have an HOA!

Everyone belongs to a Homeowners Association (HOA), even if you may not be aware of which one represents your area. Although some of the HOAs have been dissolved, and others are “Orphans”, this designation is used for the ballot counting procedures.

Ballots for elections cannot be officially counted until 9:00 a.m. on the day of the Board meeting. To help expedite the process, ballots are sorted by HOA before that time and checked off accordingly.

Including your HOA on the return address is extremely helpful and ensures your ballot is processed efficiently. You can find your HOA listed in the directory across from your name. If you do not see one listed, someone in the office will be happy to assist you.

Why assign a Proxy when voting?

The Board cannot start the election meeting without a quorum (10%) of members. The quorum is established by the number of people in attendance, plus the number of assigned proxies

Fill in Member number, HOA, and address. Select a proxy “A” or “B”. This ensures we have the necessary quorum for the vote. If selecting “A”, Randy Watson is the secretary. If selecting B, write in the name of the person you choose to designate as your proxy. Check off General or Limited Powers. Date and sign the document. Only one signature is
