TARA COMMUNITY NEWS MESSAGE FROM PHILLIP PARSH, PRESIDENT Tara Board of Directors The pickleball courts at Tara have been open for play and what a beautiful new amenity they have turned out to be. There has been a lot of play, and I would expect that more of our Owners will be utilizing the courts. This popular amenity will only ensure that the TGCC community will stay relevant and help attract new future Owners. I would like to thank the fitness and rec. committee for pushing for this amenity and all our volunteers for their hard work and time in bringing the courts to life. Thanks to David for his hard work as our project manager and making sure the cost came in close to budget. Our next major project on the docket is the clubhouse refresh and remodel. We were hoping to have this project underway, but your BOD, David and our Legal Counsel have been very careful to be sure that all the contracts and the bank loan documents are proper and meet the guidelines set by our governing documents and state law. The next regular Board meeting is scheduled for January, 26th, at 3:00pm. I wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.

TARA COMMUNITY NEWS MESSAGE FROM DAVID TAYLOR, GENERAL MANAGER dtaylor@taragcc.com Tara Golf and Country Club Members, As we turn the calendar to January, I want to begin with a heartfelt thank you. The holiday season at Tara was filled with energy, fellowship, and memorable moments—made possible by our Members, volunteers, and dedicated staff. From festive dining to community traditions, December reminded us of what makes Tara special: connection, participation, and pride in our club. Now, as our season moves into full swing, there is a renewed sense of momentum across the property. Our dining rooms, golf course, fitness areas, and social spaces are coming alive each day, and we look forward to the weeks ahead with great excitement. Later this month, we will be launching a new initiative called the GM’s Table—an informal opportunity for members to join me for conversation over food or drinks in a relaxed setting. The goal is simple: open dialogue, shared ideas, and a chance to connect in a smaller, more personal environment. More details on how to participate will be shared soon, and I look forward to getting to know many of you in this new way. I would also like to remind everyone of the Special Members Meeting on January 9th at 9:00 AM, where Members will be asked to approve the loan with PNC to refinance our current loan with Banco Popular. This refinancing is an important financial step for the Club, and your participation is critical. If you are unable to attend, please be sure to submit your proxy in advance so your voice is represented. As we head into the peak season, some friendly reminders: Pace of play – Who’s responsible? You, the golfer. If you see your group getting a bit slow, please do what you can to help speed up pace. One of the most common frustrations in golf is slow play. Respecting pace of play is as critical as course care, as it impacts the enjoyment of everyone on the course. TIPS: •Less tee boxes being played within groups, limit to 2 different tee boxes if possible •Be ready when it’s your turn, have the clubs ready in hand when it’s your turn to hit. •Be mindful of time: After 4 holes of play, you should be just less than one hour. Keep 9 holes to 2 hours or less. •Limit practice swings! Private cart etiquette – Parking for all private golf carts will be located at the back of the clubhouse, specifically at the driving range area. We kindly request that you refrain from occupying any of the designated parking spaces in the main lot with your private carts. When traveling to and from your home during this busy season, please make use of the designated roadways as much as possible. The golf course is currently experiencing a high volume of players, and minimizing disruption can help maintain a steady pace of play on the course. Your cooperation in following these guidelines is greatly appreciated and contributes to a more enjoyable experience for everyone. TARA COURSE HAPPENINGS MESSAGE FROM DON ABELL, COURSE SUPERINTENDENT 941.751.5593 | dabell@taragcc.com FROST DELAY This year, the weather has been typical for November and December, with a few cold fronts moving through Florida. However, January and February are the months when the golf course is most likely to experience frequent frost events. These frosts often lead to significant turf discoloration, particularly in the roughs. Frost can form on Bermuda grass when temperatures reach 40 degrees or below. In Florida, the time of the day when frost is most likely to occur is just before daybreak. On cold nights, temperatures tend to drop right before sunrise, and when combined with heavy dew, conditions become ideal for frost formation. When frost forms on grass, the plant cells freeze. If someone walks or drives a cart over frost covered turf, the frozen leaves can break, causing damage that resembles a chemical burn. This injury can persist for several weeks. When frost is expected or observed, special precautions are taken to protect the golf course. Maintenance staff delay daily setup and suspend play until the frost has fully melted. Once the sun rises and temperatures climb about 40 degrees, irrigation syringing is used to begin the thawing process. After the frost has cleared, maintenance completes the daily setup and golfers may resume play. Please note that the course will be closed January 5th at 11:00am for a wall-to-wall pre-emergent fertilizer application along with verticutting and topdressing.

I also want to emphasize the importance of communication. The Board is committed to transparency and partnership with homeowners. The committee experienced some changes at the end of 2025, with resignations by Chris Hoskinson & Marian Murdoch. Fortunately, Jane Funk & Anna Nelson have joined the team and Deb King & Bob O’Tain continued to make valuable contributions during a busy time. With Landscape Chair Karen Cardozo joining the TMA Board & becoming the Board Liaison to the committee, a new chair was needed. I’m pleased to announce that Deb King has agreed to accept this new role. I know she’ll do a fantastic job as Chair! Colorful seasonal flowers have been planted at the ends of the medians on Tara Blvd. They’ll continue to grow & fill in over time. If you’ve been away for the holidays, you still have a little more time to see the holiday lighting display at the State Rd 70 entrance. DID YOU KNOW FROM THE COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE DID YOU KNOW THE UPDATED CLUB CALENDAR IS ABOUT TO BECOME YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND? We all know there are a lot of things happening at Tara on a daily basis. Between Golf, Bocce, Tennis, Pickleball, Fitness & Recreation, Dining and Social and all the various Clubs and Committees, you may find it difficult to plan your own schedule of the activities you want and are able to participate in. While we have lots of information available to us such as the monthly calendars, the Tara website and newsletter and all the emails that we get on a daily basis promoting all these activities, think of how much easier it would be for you to plan your schedule if you could look at one calendar that had everything on it. Now you can! Tara’s newly updated Club Calendar on the Tara website’s main page is your new best friend! This Club Calendar pulls together everything happening in Tara from Golf, Fitness & Recreation, Bocce, Tennis, Pickleball, Dining & Social as well as all the Clubs and even the Committee meetings and agendas? And you can look at it any way you want to, as an overall monthly calendar or a weekly or daily listing of all events. It includes filters so if you want to focus on specific activities, you can simply check them off and it will bring them all to your screen. Then by simply clicking on the link of the activity in the calendar or the weekly or daily listing it will take you to all the details available like description, time and location. Some activities even have more options available like those with a sign-up option that enable you to quickly register to attend and will show “registration closed” when the event is filled. Committee Meetings will have agendas available so look for the additional links in those activities. You can also print out a copy of your schedule if you want. How easy is that? While we know that change can take some getting used to, don’t worry when you notice that the monthly calendars aren’t in the newsletter any more. While this change is helping us reduce the size of the newsletter, we think that you’re going to really like this new Club Calendar and that it’s going to help you better plan and manage doing all the things you love at Tara. It may even introduce you to lot more activities you’ll enjoy that you weren’t even aware of? Just like a new best friend!
HOUSE COMMITTEE - FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS Dear Tara Members, We continue to welcome back Members along with welcoming Tara new Members to the club. In addition, we are welcoming some new staff in the kitchen and service staff. Please be patient as they learn the Members and may ask for either your name or Member number. Refresh Update The House Refresh sub committee along with Tara Management and Board Members continue to work with the contractor, architect, and engineering firm to respond to the questions sent back to Tara from Manatee County. The various reviews have caused a delay in the start of the construction. With many rumors taking place in the community and questions from Members, the House Committee has put together an email address for Members to send questions and get answers in a timely manner. That email is: tara.admin@taragcc.com. This email will be monitored by the House Committee team. The Refresh project is expected to start construction in January 2026. Save the Date for the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Golf Outing The 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Golf Outing at Tara will be held on October 24, 2026. Teams and sponsors are already signing up for this great event. If you would like to sign up a team, be a sponsor, or donate, please contact either Jane O’Tain or John Bourjaily. We already have 5 teams signed up. Queen of Hearts Night The House Committee will be holding a Queen of Hearts drawing every Thursday in the Grille Room starting the beginning of February. Dinner and Drink specials will be available. More information and emails to come with the outline and rules of the ticket sales and drawing. Room Naming The BOD has approved the House Committee to develop a survey for Members to respond with room names for the refresh. The will be various options and the results will be compiled and sent to the BOD for final approval. Watch for the survey to come out in January 2026 from Hampton Marketing. SOCIAL COMMIT TEE MESSAGE FROM JODI SCHLETER Happy New Year to all our Tara neighbors. As we welcome 2026, the Social Committee would like to thank our Members for another season of connection, generosity, and community spirit at Tara Golf & Country Club. As we begin the new year, our mission remains focused on creating welcoming, inclusive experiences that bring neighbors together through fun, friendship, and shared traditions. A December to Remember December was truly one to remember, filled with celebration, creativity, and generosity. Our Hanukkah celebration set the tone for the season, with the dining room buzzing with laughter and energy. Thanks to the fun and thoughtful games coordinated by our beloved Harriett Krasnoff and her family, it was a memorable night enjoyed by all who attended. This year’s Golf Cart Parade was especially meaningful as it was combined with a very successful Toys for Tots drive. Thanks to the generosity of our Members, loads of toys were collected to support children in need. At the start of the parade, Jim Kaskey greeted Members and shared heartfelt thanks for the many donations, helping kick off the evening with purpose and holiday spirit. We were honored to have Bill Lutz serve as Grand Marshal, leading a parade filled with creativity, cheer, and community pride. Congratulations to our parade winners: ● First Place: Shannon Barnes, who is invited to serve as Grand Marshal for the 2026 Parade, along with a dinner for two ● Second Place: Tom and Lou Garvey, winners of a brunch ● Third Place: Deb King, recipient of a lovely bottle of wine A heartfelt thank you goes out to Tara neighbors who lined the parade route, cheering us on, waving, and sharing goodies as we passed. Your enthusiasm and support made the night truly special. Looking Ahead to 2026 As we kick off the new year, the Social Committee is excited about what’s ahead. Upcoming events include Elvis who we hear is alive and well in Tara, the Organization Guru- Sip and Learn facilitator, and other fun gatherings designed to keep our community connected.
