Deer Deerwood

Message from General Manager, Thayer Kern

Deer Deerwood,

April is here and we can officially say welcome to Spring!

The days are longer, the sun is warmer, and with the season comes a full calendar of all things Deerwood. We have so much planned and so much to share this month, it’s hard to fit it all in… but we’re going to do our best.

Egg Hunt Pancake Breakfast | Saturday, April 4

Easter kicks off the first weekend in April, and we begin the celebration Saturday morning with our annual Egg Hunt Pancake Breakfast.

Join us for a delicious spread featuring pancakes, French toast, an omelet station, and a wide assortment of breakfast favorites, perfect for fueling both you and our littlest Members before the festivities begin.

While breakfast begins at 10:01AM, egg hunt times are scheduled by age group:

Ages 4 & under: 11AM

Ages 5–8: 11:15AM

Ages 9 & up: 11:30AM

At 12:03PM, the real hunt begins, the Adult Easter Egg Hunt. Adults, this one’s just for you. Bring your Easter basket and embrace your inner child (if only for a few minutes). Expect plenty of eggs, candy, and of course, the coveted Golden Egg, reserved for those 21+ and carrying a very special prize. Last year, the hunt wrapped up in five minutes… but the Golden Egg wasn’t found for nearly twenty!

Easter Brunch | Sunday, April 5

On Sunday, we welcome families back for our annual Easter Brunch, one of Deerwood’s most cherished traditions. This event is always a sellout crowd, bringing family and friends together to celebrate.

Beyond Triathlon Viewing Event | Thursday, April 9

We’re proud to present a very special evening this month with the premiere of Beyond Triathlon, a full-length feature film highlighting the remarkable life of Deerwood Member and Resident, Dottie Dorion. The film captures Dottie’s extraordinary journey and her lasting impact on women’s athletics. Dottie will be in attendance as your host for the evening, followed by an opportunity for Q&A and conversation.

Join us for this complimentary event:

Red Carpet Arrival: 6PM

Film Begins Promptly: 6:30PM

This event is open to all Deerwood Members and Residents. Reservations are required, as seating is limited. Please call the club directly or reserve via the mobile app. Come celebrate Dottie’s inspiring legacy and all she continues to do for women’s sports. Following the movie, extend the evening alongside your favorite Neighbors and friends with dinner reservations at the club. We always love having you!

Lastly, please be sure to join us for the Club Annual Equity Meeting on Monday, April 20 at 6PM.

Spring is here and Deerwood is brimming with excitement. We will see you at the club.

Bunny tracks in the bunker regards,

Thayer

Membership Corner

The Lasting Value of Deerwood Membership

One of the most rewarding parts of my role at Deerwood is seeing firsthand the many ways club life positively impacts our Members—not just today, but for years to come.

Deerwood offers far more than amenities; it provides meaningful opportunities to live well, stay active, and continually discover new interests. Members enjoy a vibrant lifestyle through golf, tennis, pickleball, swimming, and fitness, along with opportunities to grow through lessons, clinics, fitness classes, personal training, and chef-led culinary experiences. Whether focused on wellness, developing a new skill, or simply enjoying time with friends, Deerwood creates an environment where Members can truly thrive.

Just as important are the social connections that naturally develop here. Tournaments, social gatherings, and club events bring Members together in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Families create lasting memories at the club— whether spending the day by the pool, sharing dinner with friends, or celebrating cherished holidays and traditions together.

Perhaps the most meaningful impact is seen in our youngest Members. Many children grow up at Deerwood learning the game of golf, playing tennis, swimming, and participating in club activities. Along the way, they gain valuable life skills—confidence, sportsmanship, and the ability to connect with others. These experiences often stay with them for life, shaping how they build relationships and engage with their communities as adults.

But what makes Deerwood truly special is you. Our Members are welcoming, friendly, and genuinely enjoy sharing the club with one another. It is a community that feels both vibrant and personal.

As always, I encourage you to think of friends, family members, or colleagues who may also enjoy the many lifelong benefits of being a Deerwood Member. If I may ever be of service to you, or someone you know who would enjoy experiencing the club, I would be delighted to connect and extend a warm welcome.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this community as your Director of Sales & Membership.

Warm regards,

New Members
