Refurbished Sixth
Form Area
When the new Head of Sixth Form, Jo Wilson at Samuel Ward stepped into their role, they had one clear goal, transform the tired, dated sixth form area into a space that would inspire students, boost morale, and support growth.
Completed in April 2025, the project focused on creating an inviting, modern environment fit for the only sixth form in Haverhill - helping to attract prospective students and enhance the overall sixth form experience.
After being contacted by Debbie Wilson, Director of Operations, our Furniture Project Manager, Emma Mather, worked closely with both the school and Warren Reddick at DAMS bringing the vision to life. From the first sketches to the final fabric swatches, we helped reimagine the space by:
• Advising on layout
• Recommending furniture that balances comfort, durability and style
• Ensuring the colour scheme aligned with the school’s modern identity
• Attended on the day of installation to ensure delivery went smoothly
The refurbished space was delivered over a smooth, six-month project timeline. The transformation now includes:
• A bright and spacious communal study zone
• A relaxed and welcoming common room
• An upgraded main office
• A fresh, modern Head of Sixth Form office
• A stylish café seating area where students can unwind and socialise
Each space was thoughtfully designed to encourage connection, productivity, and pride in their environment.

Safe eco-conscious spaces that support learning
Creating sustainable environments that are kinder to the planet
Schools are increasingly looking for ways to lower environmental impact while creating safer, welcoming spaces for learners.
By choosing responsible materials, thoughtful lighting and durable furniture, you can create classrooms that support pupil wellbeing and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
Our approach prioritises sustainable choices that are practical, long-lasting and achievable within real school budgets.
When selecting classroom furniture, the duraform edge finish was a key consideration for us. We were particularly mindful of minimising exposure to MDF and chemicals, so having well-sealed, durable edges was essential. The quality of the finish has made a real difference - the tables are hardwearing and create a safer learning environment for our pupils. This was a whole school project and we had to ensure effective spending, durability over time and also ensuring that our children work with equipment and resources that keep them safe from harmful chemicals or processes. HFS - really took on board our questions and put it at the front of sourcing out suitable tables/furniture for our school.

BEAM
Transforming BEAM Café Bar
At the heart of Hertford lies a cultural gem, BEAM. BEAM comprises of a Theatre, Cinema and Community spaces. BEAM, previously Hertford Theatre reopened at the end of August and was closed for a complete revamp. We were honoured to be part of this major project to help remodel its café bar. The vision was clear: create a space that not only serves as a functional café but also embodies the theatre’s rich history and future aspirations.
Debbie Power, our Furniture Project Manager, headed this project from concept through to reality. The process began with securing the perfect standalone furnishings, to complement the theatre’s remodelled interior.
BRAND NEW View our Furniture Projects Service
HFS arranged a visit to the Clerkenwell Design Centre in London, to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to gather inspiration for trending furniture styles and to allow BEAM to communicate their ideas to achieve a more cohesive result.
The chosen furnishings were statements of style and comfort. Dining chairs and coffee tables were strategically selected, to offer visitors a comfortable and inviting environment. Low seating and coffee tables were positioned to provide a perfect vantage point over the scenic river, adding an element of relaxation to the café bar experience.
The new Screen and Kitchen bar are now a cherished part of BEAM, a vibrant space where the community can gather, relax, and enjoy. The new facilities have attracted a diverse audience, from theatre-goers and movie enthusiasts to artists and event organisers. By prioritising inclusivity and versatility, our project team successfully created a dynamic hub that will continue to serve and inspire the community for years to come.
Our Project Manager Debbie Power was supportive and excellent at communication.
The transformation of BEAM Café Bar was an exciting project for HFS, allowing us to blend functionality with style to create a vibrant and welcoming space. By carefully selecting furniture that enhances comfort and atmosphere, we’re proud to have played a key role in shaping a space where the community can connect and enjoy.

Transforming Sixth Form, Library and Staffroom Spaces
Our Furniture Project Manager, Debbie Power collaborated closely with the School Business Manager, Rachel Engel. From teachers and staff to the students themselves, everyone played a role in the design journey.
Students were invited to share their feedback and input. Their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives added a unique dimension to the project, ensuring that the final design would truly resonate with them.
Our designers created detailed 3D plans, bringing designs to life! Together with the school, we explored various options for wood and fabric, ultimately selecting finishes that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable and practical.
The new Sixth Form, Library, and Staffroom are now a vibrant centre of activity, learning, and relaxation.
At Herts FullStop, we proudly took the lead on this transformative journey. This project is an example of our commitment to delivering professional, personalised, and inspiring design solutions.

The Staffroom: A hub for Collaboration and Recharging
• Comfort Zones: We designed cosy seating areas that encourage relaxation and casual conversation. Comfortable armchairs, soft lighting, and a calm colour palette create a soothing atmosphere where teachers can truly unwind.
Library Design Highlights:
• Snug reading areas with comfortable seating and a warm inviting colour scheme, make the library a place where students are eager to immerse themselves.
• Interactive Zones: We introduced flexible study areas to suit group work, solo study, or workshops. Movable furniture and dynamic layouts mean the space can adapt to the needs of the students, it’s a place to collaborate and create!

Newmarket Academy
Polaris SEN Unit Refurbishment
Polaris, the SEN unit within Newmarket Academy, needed a significant overhaul. The goal was to refurbish two classrooms, modernise the outdoor area and create a new office space. The transformation was set to be an extensive one! With the removal of a small kitchen and the installation of a brand-new one with new ceilings, flooring and a teaching wall.
Our Furniture Project Manager, Emma Mather, led the project by liaising closely with Sian Newby, the Headteacher’s PA. Together, we held meetings with the school, provided bespoke plans and designed tailored solutions that would best serve the students and staff.
We had the pleasure of bringing this vision to life. A stunning, modernised learning environment that boasts a brand-new fully equipped kitchen, a fresh outdoor area providing a safe and engaging space for students to enjoy and a sleek new contemporary office space, created to facilitate better administrative functions. The refurbished classrooms now feature state-of-the-art teaching walls, ensuring that teachers have all the resources they need at their fingertips.
The transformation has not only improved the physical spaces but also positively impacted the overall learning experience.
We are really pleased with the refurbished spaces. The space is now bright, open and much more user friendly. Students and staff really enjoy the space and you can see the positive impact it has had on the learning experience. Emma at HFS was brilliant; really helpful and made the process straightforward and enjoyable.

In the execution of this project, our dedicated Furniture Project Manager, Emma Mather, engaged in a collaborative and meticulous process with the Site Manager, Nick Howe, as well as the site team and builders. The primary focus was on facilitating the seamless delivery and installation of furniture for specific spaces within the educational facility.
The project encompassed the provision of furniture for two science labs, one Food Tech room, and two classrooms. St Catherine’s CofE Primary School is in Ware, Hertfordshire. The school is an exciting and stimulating learning environment with strong Christian values, for children aged from 4-11.
The brief was for the backdrop of the school hall, to be inspiring and eye catching.
The Head Teacher provided a sketched image and our designers created a watercolour version of the final design. Once the Head Teacher had approved, the wall art was installed with glowing feedback from pupils, parents and staff.
