School based analyses Hertfordshire Business School After a strong year in the National Student Survey 2015, which saw their Question 1 – 21 average increase by 11% and their Question 22 score increase by 6%, it could be said that scores for Hertfordshire Business School levelled out in 2016. The School saw drops in all areas except Assessment and Feedback, which remained at 75%, and Organisation and Management, which saw a 2% increase to 86%. Overall satisfaction in the school dropped 1% to 88%, while satisfaction with the Students’ Union increased by 1% to 81%. Despite their drops, Hertfordshire Business School remains at or above the sector mean in all areas except Teaching and Learning, which is 1% below the mean. Organisation and Management and Personal Development both fare strongly when compared against the sector, as these areas are 7% and 5% ahead of the sector respectively.

When analysing the open text comments for Hertfordshire Business School, the negative trends that emerge concern undetailed feedback, too much group work and a large leap in difficulty between second and third year. More positive comments that emerge concern helpful and supportive staff, interesting course content and the opportunities provided through study aboard and placement programmes.
