MANAGER’S MESSAGE by Damon Aswad As we move into the fall season, I wanted to take a moment to share a few updates from around the Club and, most importantly, thank everyone who took the time to complete our recent member surveys. Your feedback is extremely valuable. It gives us a better understanding of what you feel we are doing well, while also helping us identify the areas where we have opportunities to improve. We appreciate your time, honesty, and willingness to help us continue making Palmetto Hall a better place for our members. In early October, I will be sending another communication directly related to the items that stood out in the survey. Club Improvements & Projects I also want to address the ongoing work in our pool restrooms. This project has taken longer than anticipated, and I sincerely apologize to the membership for the inconvenience. The timing and execution of the project have provided opportunities for us to improve how we manage similar projects moving forward. After speaking with our contractor, we are currently anticipating completion of the men’s pool restroom by October 1. Once that project is complete, we expect the ladies’ pool restroom to require approximately two weeks. The materials and other items that contributed to delays with the men’s restroom will already be on site, which should allow the ladies’ project to move much more efficiently. In addition to the restroom project, several other improvements have been completed or are underway: • New hole signs have been installed on both golf courses. • All of the old monument signs have been delivered and removed from the Club. • Patrick and his team have added a new layer of plywood to the Cupp bridge, providing a much smoother ride across the bridge. We will be applying a water sealant to the surface in the near future. • The practice chipping green has been fully sprigged and is growing in nicely. • The bag drop has been painted, giving the entrance to the golf operation a fresh appearance. • We are also addressing the broken latticework on the back of the cart barn. These projects may seem like small pieces of the overall Club experience, but collectively they make an important difference in the appearance, functionality, and enjoyment of our facilities. Fall Programming Fall is also bringing an exciting lineup of activities around the Club. Keep an eye out for upcoming programming featuring food trucks, live music, trivia nights, and football.

For football fans, Terrapin has NFL Sunday Ticket and will be showing games throughout the season. Come out, bring your friends and family, cheer on your favorite team, and enjoy food and drink specials while you watch. We hope these events provide more opportunities for our members to spend time together, relax, and enjoy the Club beyond the golf course. Welcoming New Members of Our Team We are also excited to welcome two new members to the Palmetto Hall and Port Royal team. Please join me in welcoming Damon Dickerson, our new Executive Chef. Damon brings new energy and ideas to our culinary operation, and we are looking forward to some exciting menu changes beginning in mid-October. We would also like to welcome Megan Bailey, our new Membership Sales Coordinator for both Palmetto Hall and Port Royal. Megan will be working closely with our membership and helping introduce prospective members to all that our Clubs have to offer. Please join us for a meet-and-greet in early October. Members will have an opportunity to meet Damon and Megan and welcome them to the Club. Looking Ahead There is a lot happening around Palmetto Hall, and we appreciate your patience and continued feedback as we work through improvements and new initiatives. Our goal is to continue listening to our membership, addressing the areas that need attention, and building on the things that make our Club a special place to be. TURF TALK by Patrick Wake As we continue improving playing conditions, every member can help protect the golf course through one simple choice: pairing up and sharing a cart whenever possible. Why It Matters Four single-rider carts create twice as many vehicles, and therefore more tire tracks, turns, stops, starts, and entry and exit points, than two shared carts. This increases turf wear and soil compaction. The USGA has identified increased single-rider cart use as a concern for course health, noting that unnecessary carts add wear and compaction. The GCSAA and golf course superintendents likewise recognize traffic management as an important part of maintaining healthy turf. The “Spaghetti” Effect From above, four carts traveling independently create four separate lines of traffic. These paths spread out, cross, and turn as players move to their golf balls. Two shared carts create only two lines of traffic. 4 single-rider carts = 4 vehicles creating traffic 2 shared carts = 2 vehicles creating traffic Over 18 holes, those additional traffic patterns add up. Our Lowcountry turf already faces heat, humidity, rainfall, and seasonal stress. Compaction can restrict air and water movement, slow root growth, and delay recovery, leading to worn or thin turf, rutting, and additional maintenance needs. Repairing that damage requires time, labor, water, and resources. How You Can Help When playing in a foursome, please consider pairing up whenever practical. Sharing a cart is especially helpful near: • Greens and approaches • Tee complexes • Cart path entrances and exits • Wet or soft areas • Areas showing signs of wear • Other high-traffic locations

Pairing up is a simple, meaningful way for members to support the continued improvement of golf course conditions. By reducing unnecessary traffic and compaction, we can help maintain healthier turf and better playing conditions for everyone.

GREEN GODDESS DRESSING FROM THE KITCHEN OF DAMON DICKERSON OCTOBER 2026

INGREDIENTS: Yield: 1 1/2 quarts 2 cups mayonnaise 2 cups sour cream 4 tablespoons chopped chives 1 bunch parsley 1/4 bunch basil 4 sprigs rosemary

INGREDIENTS: Juice of 1 lemon Zest of 1 lemon 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 2 cloves roasted garlic Salt & pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS In a blender, combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth. Season to taste.

TOUCHDOWN MARTINI FROM THE BAR OF RUSSELL GOLDSTEIN OCTOBER 2026

INGREDIENTS: 2 oz vodka 1 oz blue curaçao 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice 1/2 oz simple syrup 1 oz pineapple juice Splash of lemon-lime soda

INSTRUCTIONS Shake vodka, blue curaçao, lemon juice, simple syrup, and pineapple juice with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and top with a small splash of lemon-lime soda. Garnish: Lemon twist and a small football-themed garnish, or rim the glass with white sanding sugar to resemble football laces.
