Letter from the General Manager Dear Members, I am happy to share the 2017-2018 TPC Prestancia season is set to be the best yet. These past 10 months Heritage Golf Group and the TPC Prestancia team have been active and engaged in creating an updated, enhanced Players Course and developing an enriched active and friendly lifestyle club. With such rich history, TPC Prestancia in 2017 is at its finest, with the upgrades to the Players Course. We have dedicated our efforts with Players Course improvements to provide you with an enhanced golf experience. Much of what has been done on the Course is not easily noticeable but will make a difference in how it plays for your enjoyment. • • • •

Greens - have been restored to their original size and shape. Tees – have all been leveled and in some cases expanded. For those of you who play the forward tees you will notice larger teeing areas. Sand Traps – all the traps have been refreshed and in a few cases there have had alterations. Trees – have been trimmed, in some cases removed and a few have been added. All with the idea to provide room to play, fairness to all golfers (not penalizing higher handicaps) and to provide direction as to how the hole should be played. Amenities – New tee signage will replace the outdated monuments. Golf Carts – We have a new fleet of golf carts, which will be Club Cars. In addition to the normal features each cart will have Dual USB ports. Also, each cart will have full touch screen Club Car Visage GPS graphics to provide accurate yardages for play and up to the minute messaging from the Golf Shop. Personnel - Bryan Hawn joins us as Club Controller, Tony Italiano, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and Julian Ortunio as Assistant Golf Professional.
Our staff has put together a very interesting and active calendar for all of you both on the golf course and for social events in the clubhouse. We have great excitement in anticipation for the 2017 - 2018 season. I look forward to seeing you at the Club often, greeting old friends and the opportunity to meet new friends, starting with The Party on November 17 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Chef will ensure that members and guests of TPC Prestancia enjoy exceptional handcrafted cuisine and a menu ‘made for you’. We have been busy creating new menus and specials that feature both traditional club favorites and innovative, locallyinspired creations. Chef considers himself the personal chef for all TPC Prestancia’s members and member satisfaction is his culinary team’s number one priority. This season, Chef will be continuing member favorites like Burger & Brew Night and Pasta Night, as well as introducing new dining events such as Chef’s Whim Night, which will
feature different specials on the third Wednesday of each month. Other dining events this season include Seafood Night at the Club, Prime Rib Night, and Wine Dinners. Dinner is offered at the Club on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights and lunch is available daily. Gourmet to Go, TPC Prestancia’s take out and catering service is available daily with advanced notice. Grab & Go is also available daily beginning at 8:30 am and allows members to grab sandwiches or breakfast items to take out onto the course with them. The Sunday Breakfast Bar, a club favorite, features a chef-attended
eggs and omelet station, breakfast meats, French toast, seasonal fruit and traditional breakfast breads with preserves. This season, we will be continuing member favorites like Trivia Night, TPC Member Socials, and Lounge Nights. We are also hosting Dinner & Dance nights. New this season is Friday Fun Happy Hour on the patio. Reservations for any dining event can be made by calling the Sandhill Grill at 941-922-2800 x3.

Club Etiquette Respect the ground you play on by taking care of the golf course, practice facility, and clubhouse. Proper golf attire required. Hats must be worn front facing and must be removed in the Grill Room. Cell phones are to be on silent. Texting and talking are permitted on outside patios only. No outside food or beverages permitted. Follow all lightning safety guidelines of the club and course staff. Abide by all cart guidelines.
New Member Golf Meet Up Learn how to maximize your membership experience with Head Golf Professional and PGA Certified Professional Kevin Swan. The event includes familiarizing yourself with the course and facilities, how to enhance your golf experience, facility best practices, and getting matched with similar players for games. New Member Golf Meet Ups take place before TPC Member Socials on the second Wednesday of each month from 4:30-5:00 pm. Just meet in the Golf Shop if you would like to attend and be sure to stick around for the TPC Member Social!
Get Golf Ready Golf Shop and Club Fittings The Golf Shop is open daily and offers a wide variety of products and services, including club fittings and club shipping. Product customization is also available. Stop by the Golf Shop for a personalized shopping experience and be sure to take advantage of the sales throughout the season.
Starting Saturday, November 4 at 10 am, Chris Ayles, our Director of Golf Instruction, will begin the first series of the Get Golf Ready Program. The program covers all aspects of the game from tee to green for beginners in 1 hour sessions for 5 straight weeks. $99 for all 5 sessions.

In the summer of 2017, Mike McNamara, Director of Agronomy at TPC Prestancia, was named Golf Course Superintendent of the Year, from The North Florida PGA, Southwest Chapter (NFPGA-SW). The Superintendent of the Year Award is designed to recognize the superintendent whose contributions to the facility show exceptional commitment of passion, time and resources to provide the best playing conditions and conservation practices. A key component of this work is to preserve golf courses for future generations. In order to do this, courses must be maintained in harmony with the natural surroundings. The Superintendent of the Year Award recognizes this commitment to sustainability. Mike has been golf course superintendent of TPC Prestancia for four years. In this position, he is responsible for directing the Agronomic and landscaping program for the Club. “I am honored to be recognized by my peers,” said Mike McNamara Golf Course Superintendent at TPC Prestancia. “My goal is to ensure that every TPC Prestancia golf member has the best experience possible on our courses.” ______________________________ Tony Italiano joined the leadership team at TPC Prestancia in 2017 as First Assistant Superintendent. Tony brings a wealth of knowledge and skills from his previous work with The Quarry Golf Lodge in Naples, The Tiburon Golf Club, and the Sanctuary Golf Club. He is an incredible asset to the Grounds & Greens team.

The courses at TPC Prestancia are routed around natural wetlands, cypress heads, and numerous ponds and lagoons, which are home to an abundance of wildlife. Deer, fox, otters, armadillos, alligators, egrets, storks, cranes, blue heron, and eagles all inhabit the golf course. TPC Prestancia is proud to be one of the few select Certified Audubon Cooperative Golf Sanctuaries. The Audubon Cooperative Golf Sanctuary program is a widely recognized and highly regarded education and certification program that helps protect
our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf. Golf courses are guided through projects in the categories of Environmental Planning, Wildlife and Habitat Management, Chemical Use Reduction and Safety, Water Conservation, Water Quality Management, and Outreach and Education. TPC Prestancia hosts three complimentary educational events with the Sarasota Audubon Society each year and you are invited! On November 29th we welcome a Sarasota Audubon Conservationist for a presentation at the
club on the various species of wildlife found in Prestancia and information about their respective habitats. On December 30th we will host our annual TPC Bird Count on both golf courses led by the Sarasota Audubon Society. On March 15th, a Florida Master Naturalist will present on the history of Sarasota and its wildlife.

Birdies for the Brave is a military outreach initiative proudly supported by the PGA TOUR. Heritage Golf Group has worked with club members, sponsors, and local community leaders to raise more than $3.2 million for military home-front charities since 2008. The event underscores Heritage Golf Group’s longstanding commitment to make a positive impact on the communities where its golf properties are located. On November 13, 2017 we will host the Audi of Sarasota Tournament Benefiting Birdies for the Brave.
