There may be many questions, concerns, or controversial thoughts looming as to why this platform even exists. When many here the word feminism they automatically associate it with the "original" feminist movement dating back to early 1900s. As we know during that time, African Americans were still being enslaved therefore many African American women and men believe that a black woman has no place in the feminist movement or simply associating with the term. Our mission here at HER Image is to preserve the role of black women in the feminist movement. Feminism has nothing to do with a white
woman, rather women's right in general. In a gist, black feminism is the act of seizing the idea that "colored women" are less than that of their counterparts. The issues that black women encounter are totally different from the issues that white women encounter. Yes, women are still fighting for equal pay and gender equality. However, the prejudice that black women endure with regard to business and professionalism isn't remotely relatable to white women.Â

We serve as the digital media hub for the unsung moguls next door and for that alone, this platform is needed.
