That’s partly because Korean sunscreen formulas feature more chemical filters than those available in the United States, says David Kim, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of the skin-care brand Lightsaver. “They have more options, so they can formulate different blends of chemical UV filters,” he says. “These chemical UV filters can feel lighter and less sticky on the skin.”
