IMPORTANTSAFETYNOTICE
Properserviceandrepairisextremelyimportantforthesafeoperationofyourmachine.Theserviceandrepair techniquesrecommendedanddescribedinthismanualarebotheffectiveandsafemethodsofoperation.Some oftheseoperationsrequiretheuseoftoolsspeciallydesignedforthepurpose.
Topreventinjurytoworkers,thesymbolsandareusedtomarksafetyprecautionsinthismanual.Thecautionsaccompanyingthesesymbolsshouldalwaysbefollowedcarefully.Ifanydangeroussituationarisesormay possiblyarise,firstconsidersafety,andtakethenecessaryactionstodealwiththesituation.
GENERALPRECAUTIONS
Mistakesinoperationareextremelydangerous.Read theOPERATION&MAINTENANCEMANUALcarefully BEFOREoperatingthemachine.
1.Beforecarryingoutanygreasingorrepairs,read alltheprecautionsgivenonthedecalswhichare fixedtothemachine.
2.Whencarryingoutanyoperation,alwayswear safetyshoesandhelmet.Donotwearloosework clothes,orclotheswithbuttonsmissing.
Alwayswearsafetyglasseswhenhittingpartswith ahammer.
Alwayswearsafetyglasseswhengrindingparts withagrinder,etc.
3.Ifweldingrepairsareneeded,alwayshavea trained,experiencedweldercarryoutthework. Whencarryingoutweldingwork,alwayswear weldinggloves,apron,glasses,capandother clothessuitedforweldingwork.
4.Whencarryingoutanyoperationwithtwoormore workers,alwaysagreeontheoperatingprocedure beforestarting.Alwaysinformyourfellowworkers beforestartinganystepoftheoperation.Before startingwork,hangUNDERREPAIRsignsonthe controlsintheoperator'scompartment.
5.Keepalltoolsingoodconditionandlearnthecorrectwaytousethem.
6.Decideaplaceintherepairworkshoptokeeptools andremovedparts.Alwayskeepthetoolsand partsintheircorrectplaces.Alwayskeepthework areacleanandmakesurethatthereisnodirtoroil onthefloor.Smokeonlyintheareasprovidedfor smoking.Neversmokewhileworking.
PREPARATIONSFORWORK
7.Beforeaddingoilormakingrepairs,parkthe machineonhard,levelground,andblockthe wheelsortrackstopreventthemachinefrommoving.
8.Beforestartingwork,lowerblade,ripper,bucketor anyotherworkequipmenttotheground.Ifthisis notpossible,insertthesafetypinoruseblocksto preventtheworkequipmentfromfalling.Inaddition,besuretolockallthecontrolleversandhang warningsignsonthem.
9.Whendisassemblingorassembling,supportthe machinewithblocks,jacksorstandsbeforestartingwork.
10.Removeallmudandoilfromthestepsorother placesusedtogetonandoffthemachine.Always usethehandrails,laddersorstepswhengettingon oroffthemachine.Neverjumponoroffthe machine.Ifitisimpossibletousethehandrails, laddersorsteps,useastandtoprovidesafefooting.
PRECAUTIONSDURINGWORK
11.Whenremovingtheoilfillercap,drainplugor hydraulicpressuremeasuringplugs,loosenthem slowlytopreventtheoilfromspurtingout.Before disconnectingorremovingcomponentsoftheoil, wateroraircircuits,firstremovethepressurecompletelyfromthecircuit.
12.Thewaterandoilinthecircuitsarehotwhenthe engineisstopped,sobecarefulnottogetburned. Waitfortheoilandwatertocoolbeforecarrying outanyworkontheoilorwatercircuits.
13.Beforestartingwork,removetheleadsfromthe battery.ALWAYSremovetheleadfromthenegative(-)terminalfirst.
14.Whenraisingheavycomponents,useahoistor crane.Checkthatthewirerope,chainsand/or hooksarefreefromdamage.Alwaysuselifting equipmentwhichhasamplecapacity.Installthe liftingequipmentatthecorrectplaces.Useahoist orcraneandoperateslowlytopreventthecomponentfromhittinganyotherpart.Donotworkwith anypartstillraisedbythehoistorcrane.
15.Whenremovingcoverswhichareunderinternal pressureorunderpressurefromaspring,always leavetwoboltsinpositiononoppositesides. Slowlyreleasethepressure,thenslowlyloosenthe boltstoremove.
16.Whenremovingcomponents,becarefulnotto breakordamagethewiring,Damagedwiringmay causeelectricalfires.
17.Whenremovingpiping,stopthefueloroilfrom spillingout.Ifanyfueloroildripsontothefloor, wipeitupimmediately.Fueloroilonthefloorcan causeyoutoslip,orcanevenstartfires.
18.Asageneralrule,donotusegasolinetowash parts.Inparticular,useonlytheminimumofgasolinewhenwashingelectricalparts.
19.Besuretoassembleallpartsagainintheiroriginal places.Replaceanydamagedpartwithnewparts.
Wheninstallinghosesandwires,besurethat theywillnotbedamagedbycontactwithother partswhenthemachineisbeingoperated.
20.Wheninstallinghighpressurehoses,makesure thattheyarenottwisted.Damagedtubesaredangerous,sobeextremelycarefulwheninstalling tubesforhighpressurecircuits.Alsocheckthat connectingpartsarecorrectlyinstalled.
21.Whenassemblingorinstallingparts,alwaysuse thespecifiedtighteningtorques.Wheninstalling protectivepartssuchasguards,orpartswhich vibrateviolentlyorrotateathighspeed,beparticularlycarefultocheckthattheyareinstalledcorrectly.
22.Whenaligningtwoholes,neverinsertyourfingers orhand.Becarefulnottogetyourfingerscaughtin ahole.
23.Whenmeasuringhydraulicpressure,checkthat themeasuringtooliscorrectlyassembledbefore takinganymeasurements.
24.Takecarewhenremovingorinstallingthetracksof track-typemachines.Whenremovingthetrack,the trackseparatessuddenly,soneverletanyone standateitherendofthetrack.
