GENERALSAFETYINFORMATION

Donotoperateorperformanymaintenanceonthis machineuntilallinstructionsfoundintheOPERATOR’SMANUALandthisMANUALhavebeenthoroughlyreadandunderstood.

Improperoperationormaintenanceofthismachine maycauseaccidentsandcouldresultinseriousinjuryordeath.

Alwayskeepthemanualinstorage.

Ifitismissingordamaged,placeanorderwithan authorizedDistributorforareplacement.

Ifyouhaveanyquestions,pleaseconsultanauthorizedDistributor.

(1)Mostaccidents,whichoccurduringoperation,are duetoneglectofprecautionarymeasuresandsafetyrules.Sufficientcareshouldbetakentoavoid theseaccidents.Erroneousoperation,lubrication ormaintenanceservicesareverydangerousand maycauseinjuryordeathofpersonnel.Therefore allprecautionarymeasures,NOTES,DANGERS, WARNINGSandCAUTIONScontainedinthemanualandonthemachineshouldbereadandunderstoodbyallpersonnelbeforestartinganyworkwith oronthemachine.

(2)Operation,inspection,andmaintenanceshouldbe carefullycarriedout,andsafetymustbegiventhe firstpriority.Messagesofsafetyareindicatedwith marks.Thesafetyinformationcontainedinthe manualisintendedonlytosupplementsafety codes,insurancerequirements,locallaws,rules andregulations.

(5)Whileoperatingthemachine,besuretoperform workwithgreatcare,soasnottodamagethemachine,orallowaccidentstooccur.

(6)ContinuestudyingthemanualuntilallSafety,OperationandMaintenanceproceduresarecompletely understoodbyallpersonsworkingwiththemachine.

SAFETYPRECAUTIONS

Theproperandsafelubricationandmaintenance forthismachine,recommendedbytheManufacturer,areoutlinedintheOPERATOR’SMANUALfor themachine.

Improperperformanceoflubricationormaintenanceproceduresaredangerousandcouldresult ininjuryordeath.ReadandunderstandtheMANUALbeforeperforminganylubricationormaintenance.

Theservicemanormechanicmaybeunfamiliarwith manyofthesystemsonthismachine.Thismakesit importanttousecautionwhenperformingservicework. Aknowledgeofthesystemandorcomponentsisimportantbeforetheremovalordisassemblyofanycomponent.

Becauseofthesizeofsomeofthemachinecomponents,theservicemanormechanicshouldcheckthe weightsnotedinthismanual.Useproperliftingprocedureswhenremovinganycomponents.Weightofcomponentstableisshowninthesection, SPECIFICATIONS.

Thefollowingisalistofbasicprecautionsthatmustalwaysbeobserved.

(1)ReadandunderstandallWarningplatesanddecalsonthemachinebeforeOperating,Maintaining orRepairingthismachine.

(2)Alwayswearprotectiveglassesandprotective shoeswhenworkingaroundmachines.Inparticular,wearprotectiveglasseswhenusinghammers, punchesordriftsonanypartofthemachineorattachments.Useweldersgloves,hood/goggles, apronandtheprotectiveclothingappropriatetothe weldingjobbeingperformed.Donotwearloosefittingortornclothing.Removeallringsfromfingers, loosejewelry,confinelonghairandlooseclothing beforeworkingonthismachinery.

(3)Disconnectthebatteryandhanga"DoNotOperate"tagintheOperatorsCompartment.Removeignitionkeys.

(4)Ifpossible,makeallrepairswiththemachine parkedonafirmlevelsurface.Blockthemachine soitdoesnotrollwhileworkingonorunderthemachine.Hanga"DoNotOperate"tagintheOperatorsCompartment.

(5)Donotworkonanymachinethatissupportedonly bylift,jacksorahoist.Alwaysuseblocksorjack

stands,capableofsupportingthemachine,before performinganydisassembly. Donotoperatethismachineunlessyouhave readandunderstandtheinstructionsintheOPERATOR’SMANUAL.Impropermachineoperationisdangerousandcouldresultininjuryor death.

(6)Relieveallpressureinair,oilorwatersystemsbeforeanylines,fittingsorrelateditemsaredisconnectedorremoved.Alwaysmakesureallraised componentsareblockedcorrectlyandbealertfor possiblepressurewhendisconnectinganydevice fromasystemthatutilizespressure.

(7)Lowerthebucket,dozer,orotherattachmentsto thegroundbeforeperforminganyworkonthemachine.Ifthiscannotbedone,makesurethebucket, dozer,ripperorotherattachmentisblockedcorrectlytopreventitfromdroppingunexpectedly.

(8)Usestepsandgrabhandleswhenmountingordismountingamachine.Cleananymudordebrisfrom steps,walkwaysorworkplatformsbeforeusing. Alwaysfacethemachinewhenusingsteps,ladders andwalkways.Whenitisnotpossibletousethe designedaccesssystem,provideladders,scaffolds,orworkplatformstoperformsaferepairoperations.

(9)Toavoidbackinjury,useahoistwhenliftingcomponentswhichweigh20kg(45lbs)ormore.Make sureallchains,hooks,slings,etc.,areingoodconditionandarethecorrectcapacity.Besurehooks arepositionedcorrectly.Liftingeyesarenottobe sideloadedduringaliftingoperation.

(10)Toavoidburns,bealertforhotpartsonmachines whichhavejustbeenstoppedandhotfluidsin lines,tubes,andcompartments.

(11)Becarefulwhenremovingcoverplates.Gradually backoffthelasttwocapscrewsornutslocatedat oppositeendsofthecoverordeviceandcarefully prycoverloosetorelieveanyspringorotherpressure,beforeremovingthelasttwocapscrewsor nutscompletely.

(12)Becarefulwhenremovingfillercaps,breathersand plugsonthemachine.Holdaragoverthecapor plugtopreventbeingsprayedorsplashedbyliquidsunderpressure.Thedangerisevengreaterif themachinehasjustbeenstoppedbecausefluids canbehot.

(13)Alwaysusethepropertoolsthatareingoodconditionandthataresuitedforthejobathand.Besure youunderstandhowtousethembeforeperforming anyservicework.

(14)Reinstallallfastenerswiththesamepartnumber. Donotusealesserqualityfastenerifreplacements arenecessary.

(15)Repairswhichrequireweldingshouldbeperformedonlywiththebenefitoftheappropriatereferenceinformationandbypersonneladequately trainedandknowledgeableinweldingprocedures. Determinetypeofmetalbeingweldedandselect correctweldingprocedureandelectrodes,rodsor wiretoprovideaweldmetalstrengthequivalentat leasttothatoftheparentmetal.Makesuretodisconnectbatterybeforeanyweldingproceduresare attempted.

(16)Donotdamagewiringduringremovaloperations. Reinstallthewiringsoitisnotdamagednorwillbe damagedinoperationofthemachinebycontacting sharpcorners,orbyrubbingagainstsomeobjector hotsurface.Donotconnectwiringtoalinecontainingfluid.

(17)Besureallprotectivedevicesincludingguardsand shieldsareproperlyinstalledandfunctioningcorrectlybeforestartingarepair.Ifaguardorshield mustberemovedtoperformtherepairwork,use extracautionandreplacetheguardorshieldafter repairiscompleted.

(18)Themaintenanceandrepairworkwhileholdingthe bucketraisedisdangerousduetothepossibilityof afallingattachment.Don’tfailtolowertheattachmentandplacethebuckettothegroundbefore startingthework.

(19)Looseordamagedfuel,lubricantandhydraulic lines,tubesandhosescancausefires.Donotbend orstrikehighpressurelinesorinstalloneswhich havebeenbentordamaged.Inspectlines,tubes andhosescarefully.Donotcheckforleakswith yourhands.Verysmall(pinhole)leakscanresultin ahighvelocityoilstreamthatwillbeinvisibleclose tothehose.Thisoilcanpenetratetheskinand causepersonalinjury.Usecard-boardorpaperto locatepinholeleaks.

(20)Tightenconnectionstothecorrecttorque.Make surethatallheatshields,clampsandguardsareinstalledcorrectlytoavoidexcessiveheat,vibration orrubbingagainstotherpartsduringoperation. Shieldsthatprotectagainstoilsprayontohotexhaustcomponentsineventofaline,tubeorseal failuremustbeinstalledcorrectly.

(21)Donotoperateamachineifanyrotatingpartis damagedorcontactsanyotherpartduringoperation.Anyhighspeedrotatingcomponentthathas beendamagedoralteredshouldbecheckedfor balancebeforereusing.

(22)Becarefulwhenservicingorseparatingthetracks (crawlers).Chipscanflywhenremovingorinstallingatrack(crawlers)pin.Wearsafetyglassesand longsleeveprotectiveclothing.Tracks(crawlers) canunrollveryquicklywhenseparated.Keepaway fromfrontandrearofmachine.Themachinecan moveunexpectedlywhenbothtracks(crawlers) aredisengagedfromthesprockets.Blockthemachinetopreventitfrommoving.

(2)Suspendwarningtag"DONOTOPERATE"fromthedoorknobortheoperatinglever,andhaveapreliminary meetingbeforestartingwork.

(3)Stoptheenginebeforestartinginspectionandmaintenancetopreventpersonalinjury.

(4)Identifythelocationofafirst-aidkitandafireextinguisher,andalsowheretomakecontactinanemergency.

1.1.3DISASSEMBLINGANDASSEMBLINGHYDRAULICEQUIPMENT

(1)RemovingHydraulicEquipment

1.Beforedisconnectingpipes,releasethehydraulicpressureofthesystem,oropenthereturnsidecoverand takeoutthefilter.

2.Carefullydrainoilfromtheremovedpipesintocontainerswithoutspillingonthefloor.

3.Applyplugsorcapsonthepipeandfittingendstoavoidoilspillageanddustintrusion.

4.Cleanofftheexternalsurfaceoftheequipmentbeforedisassembling,anddrainhydraulicandgearoilbefore placingitontheworkbench.

(2)DisassemblingHydraulicEquipment

1.Donotdisassemble,reassembleormodifythehydraulicequipmentwithoutthepermissionofthemanufacturer. Themanufacturerisnotresponsiblefortheperformanceandfunctionofthemachinecomponentsafter modification.

2.Whendisassemblingandreassemblingforunavoidablereason,refertheworktoqualifiedpersonnelwhohave thespecificknowledgeorcompletedthepartsservicetraining.

3.Providematchingmarkstofacilitatereassemblingwork.

4.Beforestartingthework,readthemanualforthedisassemblingprocedure,ifitisprovided,anddecidewhether theworkcanbeperformedbyyourself.

5.Alwaysusethespecialjigsandtoolsiftheyarespecified.

6.Ifitishardtoremoveapartaccordingtotheprocedure,donottryitbyforce,investigatethecause.

7.Placetheremovedpartsinorderandattachtagsforeasierreassembling.

8.Notethelocationandquantityofpartswhendisassembling.

(3)InspectingParts

1.Ensurethedisassembledpartsarefreefromseizure,interferenceandunevencontact.

2.Measureandrecordthewearconditionofpartsandclearance.

3.Iftheproblemisfoundinapart,repairorreplaceitwithanewone.

(4)ReassemblingHydraulicEquipment

1.TurnONtheventilationfanoropenwindowstomaintaingoodventilationbegorecleaningparts.

2.Performroughandfinishcleaningbeforeassembling.

3.Removewashingoilbywithpressurizedairandapplycleanhydraulicorgearoilforassembling.

4.AlwaysreplacetheremovedO-rings,backupringsandoilsealswithnewonesbyapplyinggreaseinadvance.

5.Removedirtandmoisturefromandperformdegreasingonthesurfaceswhereliquidgasketsareapplied.

6.Removerustpreventiveagentfromthenewpartsbeforeuse.

7.Fitbearings,bushings,andoilsealsusingspecialjigs.

8.Assemblethepartsutilizingmatchingmarks.

9.Ensureallthepartsarecompletelyassembledafterthework.

(5)InstallingHydraulicEquipment

1.Ensurehydraulicoilandlubricantareproperlysupplied.

2.Performairbleedingwhen:

a.Hydraulicoilischanged.

b.Partsofsuctionsidepipingisreplaced.

c.Hydraulicpumpsareinstalled.

d.Slewingmotorisinstalled.

e.Travelmotorisinstalled.

f.Hydrauliccylinderisinstalled.

3.Performairbleedingofthehydraulicpumpandslewingmotorafterlooseningtheupperdrainplug,startingthe engineandrunningtheengineatlowidle.

Completetheairbleedingwhenseepingofhydraulicoilisrecognized,andthentightlyplug.

4.Performairbleedingofthetravelmotorandthehydrauliccylindersbyrunningtheengineformorethan5 minutesatlowspeedwithoutload.

5.Performairbleedingofthepilotlinebyperformingaseriesofdigging,slewingandtravel.

6.Checkhydraulicoillevelafterplacingtheattachmenttotheoilcheckposition,andreplenishoilifnecessary.

Operationofthehydraulicequipmentwithoutfillinghydraulicoilorlubricantorwithoutperformingairbleedingwill resultindamagetotheequipment.

Donotallowthehydrauliccylindertobottomoutonthestrokeendjustafterthemaintenance.

1.1.4ELECTRICALEQUIPMENT

(1)Donotdisassembleelectricalequipment.

(2)Handleelectricalequipmentcarefully.Donotdropand/orshockelectricalequipment.

(3)TurnthekeyOFFpriortoconnectinganddisconnectingwork.

(4)Disconnecttheconnectorbyholdingitandpressingthelock.Donotpullthewiretoapplyforcetothecaulking portion.

(5)Connecttheconnectorandensureitiscompletelylocked.

(6)TurnthekeyOFFpriortotouchingtheterminalofthestarterorgenerator.

(7)Removetheground(earth)terminalfromthebatterywhenhandlingtoolsaroundthebatteryoritsrelay.

(8)Donotsplashwaterontheelectricalequipmentandconnectorsduringmachinewashing.

(9)Checkformoistureadhesioninsidethewaterproofconnectorafterpullingitout,sinceitishardtoremove moisturefromtheconnector. Ifmoistureadhesionisfound,dryitcompletelybeforetheconnection.

Batteryelectrolyteishazardous.

Batteryelectrolyteisdilutesulfuricacid.Exposuretoskinoreyesfromthisliquidwillcauseburningorlossof eyesight.

Iftheexposureoccurs,takethefollowingemergencymeasuresandseektheadviceofamedicalspecialist. Whenskinisexposed:Washwithwaterandsoapsufficiently.

Wheneyesareexposed:Immediatelywashawaywithwatercontinuouslyformorethan10minutes. Whenalargeamountoftheliquidflowsout:Neutralizewithsodiumbicarbonateorwashawaywithwater. Whenswallowed:Drinkalargeamountofmilkorwater. Whenclothesareexposed:Immediatelyundressandwash.

1.1.5HYDRAULICPARTS

(1)O-ring

•EnsureO-ringshaveelasticityandarenotdamagedbeforeuse.

•UsetheappropriateO-rings.O-ringsaremadeofvariouskindsofmaterialshavingdifferenthardnesstoapply toavarietyofparts,suchasthepartformovingorfixedapplications,subjectedtohighpressure,andexposed tocorrosivefluid,eveniftheO-ringsizeissame.

•FittheO-ringswithoutdistortionandbend.

•Alwayshandlefloatingsealsasapair.

(2)FlexibleHose(Fhose)

•Usetheappropriateparts.Differentpartsareuseddependingontheworkingpressureevenifthesizeofthe fittingandthetotallengthofthehoseissame.

•Tightenthefittingatthespecifiedtorque.

Ensurenokink,tension,interferenceoroilleakageisrecognized.

1.1.6WELDINGREPAIR

(1)Referrepairweldingtoqualifiedpersonnelaccordingtotheappropriateprocedure.

(2)Disconnecttheground(earth)cableofthebatterybeforestartingtherepair. Failuretodosowillcausedamagetotheelectricalequipment.

(3)Moveawaythearticlesinadvancethatmaycausefireifexposedtosparks.

(4)Beforestartingtherepairoftheattachment,donotfailtocovertheplatedsurfaceofthepistonrodwitha flameproofsheettopreventitfrombeingexposedtosparks.

1.1.7ENVIRONMENTALMEASURE

(1)Runtheengineinaplacethatissufficientlyventilated.

(2)Industrialwastedisposal

Disposeofthefollowingpartsaccordingtotherelevantregulations: Wasteoilandwastecontainer Battery

(3)Precautionsforhandlinghydraulicoil

Exposureofeyestohydraulicoilwillcauseinflammation.Wearprotectiveglassesbeforehandlingtoavoidan accident.Ifaneyeisexposedtotheoil,takethefollowingemergencymeasures: Whenaneyeisexposed:Immediatelywashawaywithcitywatersufficientlytillstimulativefeelingvanishes. Whenswallowed:Donotvomit,andreceivemedicaltreatmentimmediately. Whenskinisexposed:Washwithwaterandsoapsufficiently.

(4)Others

Usereplacementpartsandlubricantsauthorizedasthemanufacturer'sgenuineparts.
