Theproperandsafelubricationandmaintenancefor thismachine,recommendedbyKOBELCOare outlinedintheOPERATION&MAINTENANCE GUIDEforthismachine.
Improperperformanceoflubricationormaintenance proceduresisdangerousandcouldresultininjuryor death.ReadandunderstandtheOPERATION& MAINTENANCEGUIDEbeforeperformingany lubricationormaintenance.
Theservicemanormechanicmaybeunfamiliar withmanyofthesystemsonthismachine.This makesitimportanttousecautionwhen performingservicework.Aknowledgeofthe systemandorcomponentsisimportantbeforethe removalordisassemblyofanycomponent.
Becauseofthesizeofsomeofthemachine components,theservicemanormechanicshould checktheweightsnotedinthisManual.Use properliftingprocedureswhenremovingany components.
Followingisalistofbasicprecautionsthatshould alwaysbeobserved.
1.ReadandunderstandallWarningplatesand decalsonthemachinebeforeoperating, lubricatingorrepairingthisproduct.
2.Alwayswearprotectiveglassesandprotective shoeswhenworkingaroundmachines.In particular,wearprotectiveglasseswhen poundingonanypartofthemachineorits attachmentswithahammerorsledge.Use weldersgloves,hood/goggles,apronand otherprotectiveclothingappropriatetothe weldingjobbeingperformed.Donotwear loose-fittingortornclothing.Removeallrings fromfingerswhenworkingonmachinery.
3.Disconnectbatteryanddischargeany capacitorsbeforestartingtoworkonmachine. HangDoNotOperatetagintheOperators Cab.
4.Ifpossible,makeallrepairswiththemachine parkedonalevel,hardsurface.Block machinesoitdoesnotrollwhileworkingon orundermachine.
5.Donotworkonanymachinethatissupported onlybyliftjacksorahoist.Alwaysuseblocks orjackstandstosupportthemachinebefore performinganydisassembly.

Donotoperatethismachineunlessyouhaveread andunderstandtheinstructionsintheOPERATORS MANUAL.Impropermachineoperationisdangerous andcouldresultininjuryordeath.
6.Relieveallpressureinair,oilorwater systemsbeforeanylines,fittingsorrelated itemsaredisconnectedorremoved.Always makesureallraisedcomponentsareblocked correctlyandbealertforpossiblepressure whendisconnectinganydevicefromasystem thatutilizespressure.
7.Lowerthebucket,blade,ripperorother attachmenttothegroundbeforeperforming anyworkonthemachine.Ifthiscannotbe done,makesurethebucket,blade,ripperor otherattachmentisblockedcorrectlyto preventitfromdroppingunexpectedly.
8.Usestepsandgrabhandleswhenmounting ordismountingamachine.Cleananymudor debrisfromsteps,walkwaysorwork platformsbeforeusing.Alwaysfacemachine whenusingsteps,laddersandwalkways. Whenitisnotpossibletousethedesigned accesssystem,provideladders,scaffolds,or workplatformstoperformsaferepair operations.
9.Toavoidbackinjury,useahoistwhenlifting componentswhichweigh23kg(50lb)or more.Makesureallchains,hooks,slings,etc., areingoodconditionandareinthecorrect capacity.Besurehooksarepositioned correctly.Liftingeyesarenottobeside loadedduringaliftingoperation.
10.Toavoidburns,bealertforhotpartson machineswhichhavejustbeenstoppedand hotfluidsinlines,tubesandcomponents.
11.Becarefulwhenremovingcoverplates. Graduallybackoffthelasttwoboltsornuts locatedatoppositeendsofthecoverordevice andprycoverloosetorelieveanyspringor otherpressure,beforeremovingthelasttwo boltsornutscompletely.
12.Becarefulwhenremovingfillercaps, breathersandplugsonthemachine.Holda ragoverthecaporplugtopreventbeing sprayedorsplashedbyliquidsunder pressure.Thedangerisevengreaterifthe machinehasjustbeenstoppedbecausefluids canbehot.

13.Alwaysusetoolsthatareingoodcondition andbesureyouunderstandhowtousethem beforeperforminganyservicework.
14.Reinstallallfastenerswithsamepart number.Donotusealesserqualityfastenerif replacementsarenecessary.
15.Repairs,whichrequirewelding,shouldbe performedonlywiththebenefitofthe appropriatereferenceinformationandby personneladequatelytrainedand knowledge-ableinweldingprocedures. Determinetypeofmetalbeingweldedand selectcorrectweldingprocedureand electrodes,rodsorwiretoprovideaweld metalstrengthequivalentatleasttothatof parentmetal.Alwaysdisconnectbattery duringweldingoperationstoprotectsensitive electricequipment.
16.Donotdamagewiringduringremoval operations.Reinstallthewiringsoitisnot damagednorwillitbedamagedinoperation bycontactingsharpcorners,orbyrubbing againstsomeobjectorhotsurface.Donot connectwiringtoalinecontainingfluid.
17.Besureallprotectivedevicesincluding guardsandshieldsareproperlyinstalledand functioningcorrectlybeforestartingarepair. Ifaguardorshieldmustberemovedto performtherepairwork,useextracaution.
18.Looseordamagedfuel,lubricantand hydrauliclines,tubesandhosescancause fires.Donotbendorstrikehigh-pressure linesorinstallones,whichhavebeenbentor damaged.Inspectlines,tubesandhoses carefully.Donotcheckforleakswithyour hands.Pinhole(verysmall)leakscanresult inahighvelocityoilstreamthatwillbe invisibleclosetothehose.Thisoilcan penetratetheskinandcausepersonalinjury. Usecardboardorpapertolocatepinhole leaks.
19.Tightenconnectionstothecorrecttorque. Makesurethatallheatshields,clampsand guardsareinstalledcorrectlytoavoid excessiveheat,vibrationorrubbingagainst otherpartsduringoperation.Shieldsthat protectagainstoilsprayontohotexhaust componentsineventofaline,tubeorseal failuremustbeinstalledcorrectly.
20.Donotoperateamachineifanyrotatingpart isdamagedorcontactsanyotherpartduring operation.Anyhighspeed-rotatingcomponent thathasbeendamagedoralteredshouldbe checkedforbalancebeforereusing.
21.Ontrack-typemachines,becarefulwhen servicingorseparatingtracks.Chipscanfly whenremovingorinstallingatrackpin.Wear safetyglassesandlongsleeveshirts.Track canunrollveryquicklywhenseparated.Keep awayfromfrontandrearofmachine.The machinecanmoveunexpectedlywhenboth tracksaredisengagedfromthesprockets. Blockthemachinetopreventitfrommoving.

1)Beforeremovingpipes,releasethepressure ofhydraulicoiltank,oropenthecoveronthe returnsidetotank,andtakeoutthefilter.
2)Puttheoilintheremovedpipesinreservoir takingcareitisnotspilledontheground.
3)Pipeswithplugsorcapstopreventoil leaking,entryofdust,etc.
4)Cleantheoutsidesurfaceofequipment,etc. beforedisassembling,anddrainhydraulicoil andgearoilbeforeputtingthemonworking bench.
(2)Disassemblinghydraulicequipment
1)Sinceperformanceandfunctionofhydraulic equipmentafterdisassemblyandassembly resultsinimmunityfromresponsibilityon themanufacturesside,disassembly, assemblyandconversionwithoutpermission arestrictlyprohibited.
2)Ifitisunavoidablynecessarytodisassemble andreassemle,itshouldbecarriedoutby expertsorpersonnelauthorizedthrough servicetraining.
3)Makematchmarkonpartsforreassembling.
4)Beforedisassembling,readDisassembling Instructioninshopmanual,anddetermineif themaintenancearepermittedornot.
5)Forpartswhicharerequiredtousejigand tools,dontfailtousethespecifiedjigand tools.
6)Forpartswhichcannotberemovedinthe specifiedprocedure,neverforceremoval. Firstcheckforthecause.
7)Theremovedpartsshouldbeputinorderand taggedsoastoinstallonproperplaces withoutconfusion.
8)Forcommonparts,payattentiontothe quantityandplaces.
(3)Inspectingparts
1)Checkthatthedisassembledpartsarefree fromscore,dentandseizure.
2)Measurethewearofpartsandclearance,and recordthemeasuredvalues.
3)Ifanabnormalityisdetected,repairor replacetheparts.
(4)Reassemblinghydraulicequipment
1)Beforecleaning,turnthefanonoropendoors toventilateair.
2)Beforeassembly,cleanpartsroughlyfirst, andthencompletely.
3)Removeoilbycompressedair,andapply hydraulicoilorgearoil,andthenassemble them.
4)ReplacetheremovedOring,back-uprings andoilsealwithnewones,andapplygrease onthembeforeassembling.
5)Removesstainandwateronthesurfaceon whichliquidsealantareapplied,decrease them,andapplyliquidsealantonthem.
6)Beforeassembling,removerustpreventives onnewparts.
7)Usespecialtoolstofitbearings,bushingand oilseal.
8)Assemblepartsmatchingtothemarks.
9)Aftercompletion,checkthatthereisno omissionofparts.
(5)Installinghydraulicequipment
1)Confirmhydraulicoilandlubricationoil.
2)Airreleaseisrequiredinthefollowingcases;
a.Changeofhydraulicoil
b.Replacementofpartsonsuctionpipe side
c.Removingandattachinghydraulicpump
d.Removingandattachingswingmotor
e.Removingandattachingtravelmotor
f.Removingandattachinghydrauliccylinder

Ifhydraulicoilandlubricatingoilare notfilledandalsoairbleedisnot performed,thehydraulicequipment maybedamaged.
3)Forairbleedofhydraulicpumpandswing motor,loosendrainplugontheupperpart, startengine,andruninlowidling,then bleedairuntilhydraulicoilisoozedout. Aftercompletionofairbleed,tightenplug securely.
4)Forairbleedoftravelmotorandhydraulic cylinder,startsengineandoperateitfor10 minutesormoreatno-loadandlowspeed.

Forcylinder,dontmoveittothestroke endatbeginning.
5)Airinpilotcircuitcanbebleedoutbyonly operatingdigging,swingandtraveling motionsthoroughly.
6)Checkhydraulicoillevel.
Moveattachmentstohydraulicoilcheck position,andcheckhydraulicoilleveloftank. Refilloiliftheoillevelislowerthanthe minimumlevel.

Oillevelofhydraulicoiltank. Iftheindicatoriswithinlevel marks,theoilquantityis allowable.

(1)Thedisassemblyofelectricalequipmentis notallowed.
(2)Handleequipmentwithcaresoasnottodrop itorbumpit.
(3)Connectorshouldberemovedbyunlocking whileholdingtheconnector. Neverstressintensiontothecaulkedsection bypullingwire.
(4)Checkthatconnectorisconnectedandlocked completely.
(5)Starterkeyoffbeforeremovingand connectingconnector
(6)Starterkeyoffbeforetouchingterminalsof starterandalternator.
(7)Removebatterygroundingterminalbefore beginningworkclosetobatteryandbattery relaywithtools.
(8)Washmachinewithcaresoasnottosplash wateronelectricalequipmentandconnector.
(9)Whenwaterhasenteredinthewaterproofed connector,theremovingofwaterisnoteasy. Sochecktheremovedwaterproofedconnector withcaretoprotectitfromentryofwater.If moistureadheresonit,dryitcompletely beforeconnecting.

Batteryelectrolyteisdangerous. Thebatteryelectrolyteisdilute sulfuricacid,andcausesscaldandloss ofeyesightbyadheringoneyesand skin.Whentheelectrolytehasadhered onthem,takeanemergencymeasure immediatelyandseeadoctorfor medicaladvice.

CheckthatOringisfreefromflaw andhaselasticitybeforefitting.
EvenifthesizeofOringisequal, theusagediffers,forexamplein dynamicandstaticsections,the rubberhardnessalsodiffers accordingtothepressureforce,and alsothequalitydiffersdependingon thematerialstobeseated.So,choose properOring.
FitOringsoastobefreefrom distortionandbend.
Floatingsealshouldbeputinpairs.
2)Flexiblehose(Fhose)
Eveniftheconnectorandlengthof hosearethesame,thepartsdiffer accordingtothewithstanding
Tightenittothespecifiedtorque, andcheckthatitisfreefrom distortion,overtension,interference andoilleakage.
1.6WELDREPAIR
(1)Theweldrepairshouldbecarriedoutby authorizedpersonnelinthespecified procedureafterdisconnectingthegrounding cableofbattery.Ifthegroundingcableisnot disconnected,theelectricalequipmentmay bedamaged.
(2)Removepartswhichmaycauseflamedueto theentryofsparkbeforehand.
(3)Repairattachmentswhicharedamaged, givingparticularattentiontotheplated sectionofpistonrodtoprotectitfromsparks, anddon'tfailtocoverthesectionwithfire proofclothes.
1.7ENVIRONMENTALISSUES
(1)Engineshouldbestartedandoperatedinthe placewhereaircanbesufficientlyventilated.
(2)Wastedisposal
