LiteratureInformation

Thismanualshouldbereadcarefullybeforeusingthisproductforthefirsttimeandbeforeperforming maintenance.Thismanualshouldbestoredintheproductliteratureholderorintheproductliteraturestoragearea. Immediatelyreplacethismanualiflost,damaged,orunreadable.Thismanualmaycontainsafetyinformation, operationinstructions,transportationinformation,lubricationinformation,andmaintenanceinformation.Some photographsorillustrationsinthispublicationshowdetailsorattachmentsthatcanbedifferentfromyourproduct. MaintenanceIntervals

Usetheservicehourmetertodetermineservicingintervals.Calendarintervalsshown(daily,weekly,monthly, etc.)canbeusedinsteadofservicehourmeterintervalsiftheyprovidemoreconvenientservicingschedulesand approximatetheindicatedservicehourmeterreading.Recommendedserviceshouldalwaysbeperformedatthe intervalthatoccursfirst.Underextremelysevere,dusty,orwetoperatingconditions,morefrequentlubrication thanisspecifiedinthemaintenanceintervalschartmightbenecessary.Performserviceonitemsatmultiplesof theoriginalrequirement.Forexample,atevery500servicehoursor3months,alsoservicethoseitemslistedunder every250servicehoursormonthlyandevery10servicehoursordaily.

Additionalattachmentsormodificationsmayexceedproductdesigncapacity,whichcanadverselyaffectproduct performancecharacteristics,safety,reliability,andapplicablecertifications.Contactyourdealerforfurther information.

TheCD/MP3,USB/iPod,FrontAUX,andBTAudioshallbeaccessedonlyiftheradiomodelsupportsthose optionsandadeviceisconnected/insertedforthatspecificsource.

Note,ifadeviceisconnectedthroughdifferentsourcesatthesametime,thefunctionalitycannotbeguaranteed (DeviceDependent).Example:DeviceconnectedthroughFrontAuxandBluetoothorUSBandBluetoothatthe sametime.

AM-FM-WXRadio

Tuning:Setthedesired"TunerConfiguration"followingthestepsintheMenusection.

Iftheradioissettomanual,theradiowillallowforexecutionofthefollowingfunctions:

•ExecutemanualtuningwhentheNEXTorPREVbuttonsareshortpressed.

•ExecuteSeekwhentheNEXTorPREVbuttonsarelongpressed.

IftheradioissettoAuto,theradiowillallowforexecutionofthefollowingfunctions:

•ExecuteSeekwhentheNEXTorPREVbuttonsareshortpressed.

•ExecutemanualtuningwhentheNEXTorPREVbuttonsarelongpressed.

Manualtuning

Thecurrentfrequencywillbeincreased/decreasedby1stepof0.2MHz(USAFMmode),10kHz(USAAM mode)andonechannel(25kHz)inWXmode.

SeekingaStation

WhentheSeekfunctionisactivated,theradioincrements/decrementsthefrequencyuntilatunablestationis found.

Ifatunablestationisnotfound,theradiowilldisplay"NOSTATIONFOUND".

Presets

StoringRadioStationPresets:

1.Tunethedesiredfrequency,andthenlongpressanyofthePreset(1-6)buttonsuntiltheradioproducesa beep.

TuningRadioStationPresets

1.ShortpressanyofthePreset(1-6)buttons.Thefrequencystoredatthepresetlocationistunedwhenthe buttonisreleased.

Scan

ToinitiatetheScanfunction,shortpresstheSCAN/ASCNbutton.WhenSCANisinitiated,theradioseeksupin frequencyandstopsonthenextstrongfrequencyfor8secondsbeforecontinuingtoseekforthenextstrong station.

Ifnostationisfoundintwopassesthroughtheband,theradiowilldisplay“NOSTATIONFOUND”andthen tunetothestartingfrequency.

Autoscan

Thisfunctiontemporallystoresthestrongest6stationsofthecurrentbandinthepresetsuntiltheradioispowered offorthesourceischanged.

AUTOSCANdoesnotstorethefrequenciesonthepresetsonnumericalorder.Frequenciesarestoredbasedonthe ordertheywerefoundandonthequalityofthefrequency.

ToinitiatetheAUTOSCANfunction,longpresstheSCAN/ASCANbuttonuntiltheradioperformsabeep.Then the"AUTOSCAN"iconwillblinkwhiletheradioisstoringthetemporarypresets.

WhentheAutoscanprocessfinishes,theradiowilltunetothestationstoredinPreset1andthe"AUTOSCAN" iconshallbeilluminatedwhilethemodeisactive.

Totuneanyofthe6frequenciesortostorenewpresets,followthestepsdefinedinthePresetssection.

Toexitthismodeandreturntotheoriginalpresetsexecuteanyofthefollowingactions:

1.PressandholdtheSCAN/ASCANbutton

2.PresstheSCR/PWRbutton.

3.Turnofftheradio.

4.Performanignitioncycle

5.Disconnectthebattery.

WX

TheWXbandisfortheGovernmentalweatherradioservicesfrequencies.Theradiocantunetothesevenweather channelsfollowingthestepsinTuning,Presets,andSCANsections.

SXM(IfEquipped)

VehicleswithavalidSiriusXM®satelliteradiosubscriptioncanreceiveSiriusXMprogramming.SiriusXM satelliteradiohasawidevarietyofprogrammingandcommercial-freemusic,coasttocoast,andindigital-quality sound.

SiriusXM®

SXMDisplay

WhenSiriusXMisactive,thechannelnumber,channelname,artistname/contentinfo,songtitle,orcategory namecouldbedisplayedonthescreen.SiriusXMmayupdatetheinformationatanytime.

Tochangethecurrentdisplayview,shortpresstheDISPbutton.

Whenanewchannelisselected,asongchangeoccurs,SXMsourceisselected(frompower-uporsourcechange) ortheinformationisupdated,alltheelementswillbedisplayedusingpaging.Thepagingcanbestoppedbyshort pressingtheDISPbutton.

1.ConnectoneendofthestandardiPodUSBcabletotheiPodsdockconnector.

1.RadiowillstartplayingtheUSBandshowsthetracknumber,Song,Artist,elapsedtime,andAlbum informationwhenavailable.

2.iPodmusicinformationdisplaysontheradiosdisplayandbeginsplayingthroughthevehiclesaudiosystem.

Ifan"NOMUSIC"messageisdisplayed,itcouldbeforoneofthefollowingreasons:

•TherearenotanyplayablefilesintheiPod.

PlayingfromaUSB

AUSBmassstoragedevicecanbeconnectedtotheUSBport.

TheUSBportisinthefrontoftheradiodisplay.

FivevoltsDCpowerislimitedto1ampfromthisport.DevicessuchasiPadthatrequiregreatercurrentwillnot chargefromthisport.

USBMP3PlayerandUSBDrives.TheUSBMP3playersandUSBdriveconnectedmustcomplywiththeUSB MasswiththeUSBMassStoragespecification:

•MS-DOSpartitiononly

•Classspecification(ESBMSC)andsupportsformatsofFAT32,FAT16,NTFS,andHFS+.

•Harddiskdrivesmaybeplayed,butarenotsupported.

•Theradiowillnotbeabletoplaywrite-protectedmusic.

•MTPplayersarenotsupported.

TheradiowilldisplayADDINGPHfor3seconds.Inthisdiscoverablemode,theBluetoothstatusiconwillblink forupto3minutes.Ifnophonewasfound,theradiowilldisplayNOPHFOUNDandthePhoneandarrowsicon willbedisabled.

Duringthediscoverablemode,setyourcellphonetoaddaBluetoothdeviceandlookforthename"DEA500 RADIO":

•Followtheinstructionsonyourphonetoaddaconnection.Whennecessary,usethe4-numberPIN0000to connecttotheradio.

•Whenthecellphonehasbeensuccessfullyadded,theradiowilldisplayPHCONNECTEDandthenthe Bluetoothdevicename.ThePhoneIconwillbeactiveonthedisplayandthearrowswillbedisabled.

•Whentheradioconnects,theBluetoothiconwillblink.Theblinkingiconsignifiesthatthereceiveris attemptingtodownloadthecellphonesCONTACTS(fortheDIALCONTACTSfunction).Theiconwill ceasetoblinkifallcontactshavebeendownloadedoriftheradiotimesoutfromreceivingcontactsfromthe cellphone.Seeyourphonesuserguideformoreinformation.

DisconnectingaDevice

Ifyourdeviceisconnectedandyourequireddisconnectingitfromtheradio,followthenextactions:

1.PressthePhonebuttonformorethan3seconds.TheBluetoothMenuwillbeshown.

2.RotatetheVolumeKnobuntilthedisplayshowsDISCONNECTPH.

3.Presstheknobtoconfirmtheaction.TheradiowillshowDISCONNECTPHforashorttime.Once,the PhoneisdisconnectedtheradiowilldisplayDISCONNECTEDandthentheBluetoothdevicename.The PhoneIconwillbeinactive.

DeletingoneorallDevices

Todeleteadevicefromtheradio,oneoralldevicespreviouslypaired:

1.PressthePhonebuttonformorethan3seconds.TheBluetoothMenuwillbeshown.

2.RotatetheVolumeKnobuntilthedisplayshowsDELETEPH.

3.Presstheknobtoenterthesubmenu.

4.Theradiowillshowadevicelist(navigatethroughitbyrotatingtheknob).Selectthedevicetobedeletedor selectDELETEALLtoeraseallthepaireddevicesinthelistbypressingtheVolumeKnob.Theradiowill showPHDELETED.

HandsFree/BluetoothFeatures

Onceyourdeviceisproperlypaired(seeParingaBluetoothDevice)andconnected(seeConnectingaDevice),the radiosupportsthefollowingHandsFreefeaturesiftheconnecteddevicehashandsfreefunctionality.

DialMenu

Theradiocanretrievethelastcallsandcontactinformationfromthedevice(HandsFreeprofilemustbeavailable inthedeviceandsometimestheactionmustbeacceptedbytheuser).

ThedialmenuisaccessedwhenthedeviceisnotinacallandthePhonebuttonispressed.

Dial/Redial

Theusercanretrievethelastphonenumbercalledandplaceacall.PressthePhonebuttonandthelastphone numbercalledwillbedialed.

QuickDial

Theradiocanstorephonenumbersinanyoftheavailablepresetbuttons.

Tosaveaphonenumber,youcanselectthecontactusingeithertheDIALCONTACTSfeatureortheLAST CALLSfeature.Whenthedesiredcontactphonenumberisdisplayed,pressandholdanyofthePRESETbuttons untilyouhearabeepconfirmingthephonenumberhasbeensaved.

Todialasavedphonenumber,selectQUICKDIALfromthemenuandrotatetheknobtoselecttheappropriate PRESETnumber.Presstheknobtoplaceacalltosavedphonenumber.

Tochangepresetssimplyrepeattheprocesswiththedesiredphonenumber.Presetsareoverwritten.

DialContact

Theradioisabletoreadanddisplaycellphonecontacts.PressthePhonebuttontoshowtheDIALMENUand rotatetheknobuntilDIALCONTACTSisshown,presstheknobtoselectthisfeature.Rotatetheknobtoselect betweenthedifferentstoredcontacts(upto500numbersfromthephoneand250contactsfromtheSIM).Press theOKbuttonifyouwanttodialtothelistedcontact.

Theradiowilldownloadthefollowingphonenumbersfromeachcontact(ifavailable):HOME,WORK, MOBILE,OTHER,andPREFERRED.Withinthemenuphonenumberswillbedisplayedaseither:H,W,M,O, orPplusthe10-digitnumber(XXXXXXXXXX).

Whenthetransferissuccessful,theradiowillshowtheDIALCONTACTSsubmenu.Eachtimetheradio connectstoyourphone,theDIALCONTACTSsubmenuisupdated,soyoumayneedtorepeatthismanual operationasneeded.

LastCalls

Theradioiscapableoflistingthelast10calls(DIALED,RECEIVEDANDMISSED).Rotatingtheknobwill navigatetheuserthroughtheselectedcalllist.PresstheOKbuttontoplacethecall.

Whenanincomingcallisreceived,theradiowillplaytheinbangringtoneifthedevicesupportsthisfeature, otherwiseadefaultringtonewillbeplayed,theusercanadjusttheVolumeoftheringtone,whiletheringtoneis played.Anyvolumelowerthan13,willnotbeconsideredforthenextincomingcall.Volumeabove13willbe storedforthenextcall.

Whenanincomingcallisreceived,theradiowilldisplaythename(ifavailable)andnumberofthecaller.To acceptthecall,pressanyofthefollowingradiobuttons:Phone,Knob,orNEXT.

RejectingaCall

Whenanincomingcallisreceived,theradiowilldisplaythename(ifavailable)andnumberofthecaller.To rejectthecall,pressanyofthefollowingradiobuttons:ESCorPREV.

EndingaCall

WhenaHandsFreecallisinprogress,theradiowilldisplaythecallersnumberandtheelapsedtime.Toenda call,pressanyofthefollowingradiobuttons:Phone,ESC,orPREV.

MicrophoneMute

WhenaHandsFreecallisinprogress,pressingPause/Playwillmutetheradiosmicrophone.Pressagainto deactivatemute.

Iftheaudiodoesnotimprovebyspeakingclosertothemicrophone,thenitispossiblethecellwasnotpickedup bytheradio.Testforaudioimprovementbytalkingintothecellphonemicrophone.

Bass

Time
