Neverruntheenginewithadamagedaircleanerelement.Do notuseaircleanerelementswithdamagedpleats,gasketsor seals.Dirtenteringtheenginecausesprematurewearand damagetoenginecomponents.Aircleanerelementshelpto preventairbornedebrisfromenteringtheairinlet.

Neverservicetheaircleanerelementwiththeenginerunning sincethiswillallowdirttoentertheengine.

Caterpillarrecommendscertifiedairfiltercleaningservicesthat areavailableatCaterpillardealers.TheCaterpillarcleaning processusesprovenprocedurestoassureconsistentquality andsufficientfilterlife.
Observethefollowingguidelinesifyouattempttocleanthe filterelement:
Donottaporstrikethefilterelementinordertoremovedust. Donotwashthefilterelement.
Uselowpressurecompressedairinordertoremovethedust fromthefilterelement.Airpressuremustnotexceed207kPa
(30psi).Directtheairflowupthepleatsanddownthepleats fromtheinsideofthefilterelement.Takeextremecareinorder toavoiddamagetothepleats.
Donotuseairfilterswithdamagedpleats,gaskets,orseals. Dirtenteringtheenginewillcausedamagetoengine components.
NOTICE
Donotcleantheaircleanerelementsbybumpingortapping. Thiscoulddamagetheseals.Donotuseelementswith damagedpleats,gasketsorseals.Damagedelementswillallow dirttopassthrough.Enginedamagecouldresult.
