Theoperationsectionisareferenceforthenewoperatorandarefresherfortheexperiencedone.Readstudy-andkeepithandy.
Illustrationsguidetheoperatorthroughcorrectproceduresofchecking,starting,operatingandstoppingthe machine.
Operatingtechniquesoutlinedinthispublicationarebasic.Skillandtechniquesdevelopastheoperatorgains knowledgeofthemachineanditscapabilities.
Themaintenancesectionisaguidetoequipmentcare.Theillustrated,step-by-stepinstructionsaregrouped byservicingintervals.Itemswithoutspecificintervalsarelistedunder"WhenRequired."Itemsinthe "LubricationandMaintenanceChart"arereferencedtodetailedinstructionsthatfollow.
Usetheservicemetertodetermineservicingintervals.Calendarintervalsshown(daily,weekly,monthly, etc.)maybeusedinsteadofservicemeterintervalsiftheyprovidemoreconvenientservicingschedulesand approximatetheindicatedservicemeterreading.Recommendedserviceshouldalwaysbeperformedatthe intervalthatoccursfirst.
Underextremelysevere,dustyorwetoperatingconditions,morefrequentlubricationthanisspecifiedinthe "LubricationandMaintenanceChart"maybenecessary.
Performserviceonitemsatmultiplesoftheoriginalrequirement.Forexample,atEvery500ServiceHours or3Months,alsoservicethoseitemslistedunderEvery250ServiceHoursorMonthly,Every50Service HoursorWeeklyandEvery10ServiceHoursorDaily.
Someillustrationsinthispublicationshowdetailsorattachmentsthatmaybedifferentfromyourmachine. Also,guardsandcoversmayhavebeenremovedforillustrativepurposes.

1.Washthefilterelementinwarmwaterandnonsudsinghouseholddetergent.
2.Rinsethoroughlywithcleanwater,airdryandinspectthefilterelement.
InspectTheFilterElement
1.Insertalightinsideadryandcleanedfilterelement.Discardanyfilterelementwithripsortears.
2.Wrapandstorethecleanfilterelementsinaclean,dryspace.
Drivebeltconditionandtension
Rotatingequipment-keephandsaway.Donotrunenginewithfan guardremoved.Contactwithrotatingequipmentwillresultin mutilatinginjuriestohand.
1.Checkbeltsforcracksorveryworncondition.
2.Adjustthedrivebeltsothatafirmpush,atapointmidwaybetweenthetwopullies,willdeflectthebelt12 mmto19mm(1/4"to3/4").
1.Removethedrainpluglocatedonthelowerrightcornerofthewatertank.
2.Afterthewaterhasdrained,flushtheinteriorofthewatertankwithcleanwater.
3.Replacedrainplug.

3.Lubricatethegasketonthenewoilfilterandscrewinplace.
Frontandreardrivereducergearlubelevelcheck.
1.Removetheplugmountedonthesideoftheplanetarymount.
2.Gearlubeshouldbeatthislevel.
3.Ifnotremovethepluglocatedonthetopofthefrontfaceofthetorquehubandaddgearlubeuntillevel reacheslevelofthecheckplug.
4.Replaceplugs.
1.Removethebreatherassembly.
2.Usinganairlineblowairintothebreather.Airshouldblowthroughthebreather.
3.Ifthebreatherisrestricted,itmustbereplaced.
4.Replacethebreatherassembly. Batteryelectrolytelevelcheck.
1.Checklevelbyremovingbatteryfillcapsandobservingelectrolytelevel.
2.Electrolytelevelshouldreachbottomofthefillopening.Iflevelislowadddistilledwatertoraise electrolytelevel.
3.Replacebatteryfillcaps.
Vibratorybearinglubereservoircheck.
1.Movethemachineuntiloneofthecheckplugsonthebearingholderandstubshaftisinthe12:00 position.
2.Removethelowerplug.
3.Gearlubeshouldbeatthatlevel.
4.Addgearlubeifnecessarythenreplacedrainplug.

1.Shutofftheengineanddrainengineoilbyremovingtheoildrainplug.
Ifthegasketontheoildrainplugisnotmadeofbrassorothermetal thegasketshouldbereplacedbeforereplacingtheoildrainplug.
2.Aftercrankcaseoilhasdrained,replaceandtightentheoildrainplug.
3.Removeoilfillercapandrefillenginecrankcasewithnewoil.Seelubricationchartforoiltypeand quantity.

Thehydraulicoiltankcontainsapproximately64.4L(17gal.)of hydraulicoil.
1.Drainhydraulicoiltankbyremovingthedrainpluginbottomcornerofhydraulicoiltank.
2.Afterhydraulicoilhasdrainedreplacedrainplug. NOTICE
Makecertaintheinteriorofthehydraulicoiltankisfreeofany contaminates.
3.Refilluntilhydraulicoilisvisibleinsightgauge. Torquehubgearlubechange.
1.Movemachineuntiltheholeinthedrumspideralignswiththedrainpluginthetorquehub.
2.Removedrainplugfrombottomoftorquehub.
3.Afterallowinggearlubetodrain,replacedrainplug.
4.Removefillpluglocatedatthetopofthefrontfaceofthetorquehub.
5.Removegearlubelevelcheckpluglocatedontheplanetarymount.
6.Addgearlubeuntilgearlubereachesthelevelofthecheckplug.
7.Replaceplugs.
Vibratorybearinglubereservoirchange.
1.Movethemachineuntiloneofthecheckplugsonthebearingholderandstubshaftisinthe6:00position.
2.Removethelowerplug.
3.Aftergearlubehasdrained,replacethedrainplug.
4.Refillthedrumbyfollowingtheprocedureusedtocheckthelubelevelinthe100hourmaintenance section.
Fuelfilterelementreplacement.
1.Removeoldfuelfilterelementanddiscard.
2.Threadnewfuelfilterinplaceandhandtighten.
NOTICE
Wheneverthefueltankhasbeenrundryorthefuelfilterhasbeen changedthefuelsystemmustbeventedofallair.
Ventingthefuelsystem.
1.Unscrewtheoverflowvalvetwotothreeturns.
2.Pumptheprimingleveronthefuelfeedpumpuntilfuel,freeofairbubbles,emergesfromtheoverflow valve.
3.Whilestillpumpingpriminglever,tightenoverflowvalve.
