Themaintenancesectionisaguidetoequipmentcare.Theillustrated,step-by-stepinstructionsare groupedbyserviceintervals.Itemswithoutspecificintervalsarelistedunderthewhenrequired interval.Itemsinthemaintenanceintervalsschedulearereferencedtodetailedinstructionsthat follow.
MaintenanceIntervals
Calendarintervalsshown(daily,weekly,monthly,etc)canbeusedinsteadofservicehourmeter intervalsiftheyprovidemoreconvenientservicingschedulesandapproximatetheindicated servicehourmeterreading.Recommendedserviceshouldalwaysbeperformedattheintervalthat occursfirst.
Underextremelysevere,dustyorwetoperatingconditions,morefrequentlubricationthanis specifiedinthemaintenanceintervalsschedulemightbenecessary.
Performserviceonitemsatmultiplesoftheoriginalrequirement.Forexample,atevery500 servicehoursor3months,alsoservicethoseitemslistedunderevery250servicehoursor monthlyandevery10servicehoursordaily.

8.Tightenthebolts(1).

Properweldingproceduresarenecessaryinordertoavoiddamagetotheelectroniccontrolsandto thebearings.Thefollowingstepsshouldbefollowedinordertoweldonamachineoranengine withelectroniccontrols.
Note:Ifyouareweldingonaworktool,removetheworktoolfromthehostmachinebefore welding.
1.Turnofftheengine.
2.TurnthebatterydisconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.Ifthereisnobatterydisconnect switch,removethenegativebatterycableatthebattery.
3.Clampthegroundcablefromtheweldertothecomponentthatwillbewelded.Placethe clampascloseaspossibletotheweld.Makesurethattheelectricalpathfromtheground cabletothecomponentdoesnotgothroughanybearing.Usethisprocedureinorderto reducethepossibilityofdamagetothefollowingcomponents:
Bearingsofthedrivetrain
Hydrauliccomponents
Electricalcomponents
Othercomponentsofthemachine
DoNOTuseelectricalcomponents(ECMorECMsensors)or electroniccomponentgroundingpointsforgroundingthewelder.
4.Protectanywiringharnessesfromthedebriswhichiscreatedfromwelding.Protectany wiringharnessesfromthesplatterwhichiscreatedfromwelding.
5.Usestandardweldingproceduresinordertoweldthematerialstogether.

LoweringtheBackhoewiththeEngineStopped
DONOTallowhighpressureoiltocontactskin.
Wearappropriateprotectiveequipmentwhileworkingwithhigh pressureoilsystems.
Ifthereisnoelectricalpower,thebackhoemustbeloweredbyusingtheprocedurethatis explainedhere.
1.Inordertolowerthebackhoewithoutelectricalpower,analternate12Vpowersourcemust beinstalled.Forinformationaboutinstallingalternatepowersources,refertoOperationand MaintenanceManual,"EngineStarting(AlternateMethods)"intheOperationSectionofthe hostmachine.
2.TurntheenginestartswitchkeytotheONposition.
3.PushtheparkingbrakeswitchtotheOFFposition.
4.PressandholdtheauxiliaryhydrauliccontrolA2(2)onthejoystick.RefertotheOperation andMaintenanceManual,"JoystickandAuxiliaryHydraulicControl"foradditional information.
5.Slowlypushtheboomleverinordertolowertheboomtotheground.Refertothe OperationandMaintenanceManual,"BackhoeControl"foradditionalinformation.
6.PushtheparkingbrakeswitchtotheONposition.
7.TurntheenginestartswitchkeytotheOFFposition.
8.Removethe12Vpowersource.
EquippedwithBoomLoadControlValve
Ifthebackhoeisequippedwithaboomloadcontrolvalve,performthefollowingprocedurein ordertolowerthebackhoetotheground.


1.Installa6mm(0.25inch)hoseontothepurgingscrew.Routetheotherendofthehoseinto asuitablecontainerinordertodraintheoil.
2.Loosenthepurgingscrewslightlyandallowtheoiltodrainuntiltheboomlowerstothe ground.Tightenthepurgingscrewaftertheboomisontheground.
