Operatethemachineinthegreenoperatingrangeonthetachometer.

HighIdle-Movethelevertoposition (1)forafasteridlespeed.

Forroadingorloaderoperation,keeptheleverintheposition(2).Usetheacceleratorpedalto changetheenginespeed.

FuelSystemWaterSeparator(1)(If Equipped)-Thealertindicator indicatesapluggedfuel/water separator.Ifthisalertindicatorcomes onduringoperation,stopthemachine immediatelyandengagetheparking brake.Stoptheengineandinvestigate thecauseofthefault.

EngineOilPressure(2)-Thealert indicatorwilllightwhentheengineoil pressureislow.Ifthisalertindicator comeson,stopthemachine immediately.Stoptheengineand investigatethecause.

EngineCoolant(3)-Thealert indicatorwilllightandanaudible alarmwillsoundwhentheengine coolanttemperatureistoohigh.Ifthis alertindicatorcomeson,stopthe machineimmediately.Stoptheengine andinvestigatethecause.

BrakeOilLevel(4)-Thealert indicatorwilllightandanaudible alarmwillsoundwhenthebrake reservoiroilislow.Ifthisalert indicatorcomeson,stopthemachine immediately.Investigatethecauseand addoiltothecorrectlevel.Donot operatethemachineiftheindicator lightstayson.

AirFilterIndicator(5)(If Equipped)-Thealertindicatorwill lightwhentheairfilterbecomes clogged.Ifthisalertindicatorcomes on,stopthemachineandinvestigate thecause.

HydraulicOilFilter(6)(If Equipped)-Thealertindicator indicatesapluggedhydraulicoilfilter. Ifthisalertindicatorflashesduring operation,stopthemachine immediatelyandengagetheparking brake.Stoptheengineandinvestigate thecauseofthefault.

ChargingSystem(7)-Thealert indicatorcomesonifthereisa malfunctionintheelectricalsystem.If thisalertindicatorcomeson,the systemvoltageistoohighfornormal machineoperationortoolowfor normalmachineoperation.

Ifelectricalloads(airconditioningand/orlighting)arehighandtheenginespeedisnearidle, increasetheenginespeedtohighidle.Thiswillgeneratemoreoutputfromthealternator.Ifthe alertindicatorfortheelectricalsystemturnsoffwithinoneminute,theelectricalsystemis probablyoperatinginanormalmanner.However,theelectricalsystemmaybeoverloadedduring periodsoflowenginespeeds.

Modifytheoperatingcycleinordertopreventoverloadingtheelectricalsystemanddischarging thebatteries.

Lowidlemustbesetcorrectly.AdjustforthehighsideoftheLowIdlespecificationwhilethe mostoftenusedelectricalloadsareturnedon.Inordertoreducetheloads,usetheMediumfan speedinsteadoftheHighfanspeed.

Ifthisproceduredoesnotcausethealertindicatortoturnoff,movetoaconvenientlocation. Investigatethecause(loosealternatorbelt,brokenalternatorbelt,faultybatteries,etc).

Iftheenginespeedisnearoperatingspeedsandiftheelectricalloadsarelight,thealertindicator mayremainon.Ifthealertindicatorremainson,movetoaconvenientlocation.Investigatethe cause(loosealternatorbelt,brokenalternatorbelt,faultybatteries,etc).

LeftTurnSignal(8)-Thealert indicatorwillflashwhentheleftturn signalisactivated.

HighBeams(9)-Thealert indicatorwilllightwhenyou pressthetopofthedimmer switch.Thealertindicator shouldgooutwhenyoupress thebottomofthedimmer switch.

RightTurnSignal(10)-Thealert indicatorwillflashwhentheright turnsignalisactivated.

ParkingBrake(11)-Thealert indicatorwilllightandanaudible alarmwillsoundwhentheparking brakeisengagedandthetransmission isputintoforwardorreverse.The

alertindicatorshouldcomeonduring start-up.Thealertindicatorshouldgo outwhentheparkingbrakeisreleased.

RideControl(12)-Thealert indicatorwilllightwhentheride controlisactivated.

Hazard(13)-Thealert indicatorwillflashandthe turnsignalswillflashwhen thehazardflashersare activated.

Note:Formachinesthatareequippedwithtwo-wheelsteer,youmustpressonbothofthebrake pedalsatthesametimeinordertoenabletheAllWheelDriveBraking.Steeringusingthebrakes isstillpossiblefortwo-wheelsteermachines,whenyoupressonebrakepedal.

AllWheelDriveBrakingshouldalwaysbeactivatedwhenyouareroadingthemachine.

OFF(3)-Pushtherightsideofthe switchtotheOFFpositionfortwowheeldrive.TheAllWheelDrive Brakingisdeactivatedwhenthe switchisinthisposition.

Personalinjuryordeathcanresultifthemachineisroadedinany modeotherthanfrontwheelsteer.

Alwaysroadthemachinewiththerearwheelscenteredandthe machineinthefrontwheelsteermode.

TheAllWheelSteer(AWS)hasthreesteeringmodes:AllWheelSteer,Two-WheelSteerandan IndependentRearManeuveringmode.Whenyouoperatethemachineforthefirsttime,become familiarwiththethreemodesbytryingeachone.Thisshouldbedoneinanareathatisclearof personnelandofobstacles.

•anAllWheelSteerswitch(1)thatallowstheoperatortochoosefromthethreemodes

Threemodesprovidemaximummachineperformanceundervariousconditionsatthejobsite.

Two-WheelSteer-TheTwo-Wheel Steermode(5)offersthecapabilityto operatethemachineontheroad.The Two-WheelSteermodeisusedwhen additionalmaneuveringcapabilityis notneeded.Onlythefrontaxleisused tosteerthemachine.Usethismode whenyouareroadingthemachine.

Whenyouareoperatingthemachine inthismodetheindicatorlight(3)will notbeon.

AllWheelSteer-TheAllWheel Steermode(6)allowstheoperatorto chooseindependentrearmaneuvering forpositioningtherearaxleandfor controllingtherearaxle.Theswitch thatislocatedontheloadercontrol leverisusedforpositioningandfor controllingtherearaxle.Whenyou areoperatingthemachineintheAll WheelSteermode,theindicatorlight (3)willbeon.

CircleSteerMode-TheCircleSteer Mode(7)providesreducedturning radiiandtighteroperationinconfined spaces.Thefrontandrearaxlesare usedtosteerthemachine.Whenyou areoperatingthemachineintheCircle Steermode,theindicatorlight(3)will comeon.

NOTICE

Beforechangingfromonesteeringmodetoanother,alwayscenter boththefrontandrearwheels.

BeforeyoureturntotheTwo-WheelSteermodeortotheCircleSteermode,thefrontwheelsand rearwheelsmustbecentered.Observetherearaxlepositiongauge(2)onthefrontconsole.Use theindependentrearmaneuveringswitch(4)tocentertherearwheelsuntilthezeropositionis obtained.Then,movetheAllWheelSteerswitchtothedesiredmode.
