5.Performthenecessaryrepairs.Replacethecableorthebattery,asneeded.
6.Connectthenegativebatterycableatthebattery.
7.Connectthebatterycabletotheframeofthemachine.
8.Installtheenginestartswitchkey.

Belts-Inspect/Adjust/Replace

Ifnewbeltsareinstalled,checkbeltadjustmentafter30minutesofoperation.Formultiplebeltdrive applications,alwaysreplacethebeltsinmatchedsets.Replacingonlyonebeltofamatchedsetwill causethenewbelttocarrymoreloadbecausetheolderbeltsarestretched.Theadditionalloadonthe newbeltcouldcausethenewbelttobreak.
1.Emptythebucket.Removethepinthatsecuresthebracefortheloaderliftarmtotheleftloader liftarm.Raisetheloaderarmtothemaximumheight.
2.Positionthebracefortheloaderliftarmovertheleftliftcylinderrodwiththeflatendagainst thecylinderend.
3.Pushthepinthroughtheholesofthebracefortheloaderliftarmandinstallthecotterpin.
4.Slowlylowertheloaderarmsuntilthebracefortheloaderliftarmcontactsthetopofthelift cylinderandthebossesontheloaderarm.
5.Stoptheengineinordertoinspectthebelts.

6.Removetheengineaccesspanelontheleftsideofthemachine.

7.Inspecttheconditionoftheairconditionerbeltandtheadjustmentoftheairconditionerbelt. Theairconditionerbeltshoulddeflect10mm(0.38inch)under110N(25lb)offorce.
8.Loosentheadjustinglocknut(1).Loosenthecompressorbracketmountingbolt(2).
9.Movethecompressoruntilthecorrectbelttensionisreached.
10.Tightentheadjustinglocknut(1).Tightenthecompressorbracketmountingbolt(2).
11.Recheckthebeltdeflection.Iftheamountofdeflectionisincorrect,repeatStep8toStep10.
12.Installtheengineaccesspanel.
13.Removetheengineaccesspanelontherightsideofthemachine.

22.Lowerthebuckettotheground.

Thefollowingtestsareusedtodetermineiftheservicebrakeisfunctional.Thesetestsarenot intendedtomeasurethemaximumbrakeholdingeffort.Thebrakeholdingeffortthatisrequiredto sustainamachineataspecificenginerpmvariesdependingonthemachine.Thevariationsarethe differencesintheenginesetting,inthepowertrainefficiency,andinthebrakeholdingability,etc.
1.Starttheengine.Raisethebucketslightly.
2.Applytheservicebrake.Releasetheparkingbrake.

Note:Tocorrectlyinstallthepinintotheretainer,thepinmustbedriveninfromtherightside ofthetooth.Improperinstallationofthepincanresultinthelossofthebuckettip.

a.Insertthepinthroughthebuckettooth.
