1. Install solenoid valve assembly (3) into position. Install bolts (4). Connect hose assemblies (2) onto solenoid valve assembly (3). Connect harness assembly (1).
2. Close the access door on the right rear of the machine.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
1. Install stop (5), spring (6), washer (7), and O-ring seal (8).
2. Install solenoid assembly (10). Install bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 4 ± 1 N·m (35 ± 9 lb in).
3. Install O-ring seal (11) on plug (12).
4. Install plug (12). Tighten plug (12) to a torque of 49 ± 5 N·m (36 ± 4 lb ft).

5. Install spring (4).
6. Install O-ring seal (3) on plug (2).
7. Install plug (2). Tighten plug (2) to a torque of 49 ± 5 N·m (36 ± 4 lb ft).
8. Install plug (1). Tighten plug (1) to a torque of 6 ± 1 N·m (52 ± 9 lb in).
End By:
a. Install the solenoid valve for the counterweight circuit. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Solenoid Valve (Counterweight Circuit) - Install".

Solenoid Valve (Counterweight Circuit) - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure
Start By:

a. Remove the solenoid valve for the counterweight circuit. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Solenoid Valve (Counterweight Circuit) - Remove".
Sudden release of spring force can cause injury.
To prevent the possibility of injury, follow the procedure to relieve the spring pressure.
1. Remove plug (1).
2. Slowly loosen plug (2) until the spring pressure is completely released. Remove plug (2).
3. Remove spring (4).
4. Remove O-ring seal (3) from plug (2).
5. Remove plug (12).
6. Remove O-ring seal (11) from plug (12).
7. Remove bolts (9). Remove solenoid assembly (10).
8. Remove O-ring seal (8), washer (7), spring (6), and stop (5).

a. Release the system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "System Pressure - Release".
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

1. Attach Tooling (A) to the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (A). Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi). This procedure will pull vacuum on the hydraulic system.
2. Open the access door on the right rear of the machine.
