Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

1. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to place aftercooler (26) into position. The weight of aftercooler (26) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). 2. Install bolt (27) and bolts (28).

3. Install bracket (23), bracket (20), bolt (25), bolts (24), bolts (22), and bolt (21).

4. Install bracket (19), bolt (20), and bolts (18).

5. Install brace (15), bolts (17), bolts (16), and bolts (14).

Start By: a. Remove the cooling system package enclosure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Enclosure (Cooling System Package) - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

1. Remove bolts (1) and guard (2).

2. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to door (3). The weight of door (3) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). 3. Remove bolts (4) and door (3).

4. Disconnect hoses (5).

5. Cut cable straps (6) and place hose (7) aside.

6. Disconnect harness assembly (8).

7. Disconnect hose (9). 8. Remove bolt (11), bolt (12), and bracket (13).

Alternator - Remove and Install SMCS - 1405-010

Removal Procedure Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. 2. Turn battery disconnect switch (3) to the OFF position.

4. Remove the belt from alternator (9). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts Inspect / Adjust / Replace". 5. Disconnect harness assemblies (5), (6), and (8). 6. Remove bolt (7), bolt (10), and alternator (9).

1. Install alternator (9), bolt (7), and bolt (10). 2. Connect harness assemblies (5), (6), and (8). 3. Install the belt to alternator (9). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts Inspect / Adjust / Replace".

4. Close engine hood (4).
