Donotaddpressuretotheenginehoodwhenopen.
Whenclosingtheenginehood,DoNotoperatethepush-buttonrelease byfoot.
Operationofthepush-buttonreleasebyfootcouldresultindamageto thegasspringoftheclosingmechanismand/orpersonalinjury.
Onlyoperatethepush-buttonreleaseforclosingtheenginehoodby hand.
3.Toclosetheenginehood,supporttheenginehoodwiththedoorhandle.Pressthepushbuttonrelease(2)tounlockthegasspring.Releasethepushbuttonandslowlyclosethe enginehood.

1.Cleanthebatterysurfacewithacleancloth.Cleantheterminalsandthecableclamps.Coat theclampsandtheterminalswithsiliconelubricantorpetroleumjelly.Installthepost cover.
2.Inspecttheelectrolytelevelineachbatterycell.Maintaintheelectrolyteleveltothebottom ofthefilleropenings.Usedistilledwater.Ifdistilledwaterisnotavailable,useclean drinkingwater.

1.TurnalltheswitchestotheOFFposition.TurntheenginestartswitchkeytotheOFF position.
2.TurnthebatterydisconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.Removethekey.
3.Removethebatteryhold-down.
Note:Themachinemaycontainmorethanonesetofbatteries.
4.Disconnectthenegativebatterycableatthebattery.
5.Disconnectthepositivebatterycableatthebattery.
6.Disconnectthebatterycableatthebatterydisconnectswitch.
7.Inspectthebatteryterminalsforcorrosion.Cleanthebatteryterminalsandthesurfacesof thebatterieswithacleancloth.
8.Inspectthebatterycablesforwearordamage.
9.Makeanynecessaryrepairs.Ifnecessary,replacethebatterycablesand/orthebattery.
10.Connectthepositivebatterycableatthebattery.
11.Connectthenegativebatterycableatthebattery.
12.Coatthebatteryterminalswithpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosionandinstalltheterminal covers.
13.Reinstallthebatteryhold-down.Tightenthehold-downsforthebatterytopreventthe batteriesfrommovingduringmachineoperation.
14.Connectthebatterycableatthebatterydisconnectswitch.
15.InstallthekeyandturnthebatterydisconnectswitchON.
RecycletheBattery
Alwaysrecycleabattery.Neverdiscardabattery.
Alwaysreturnusedbatteriestooneofthefollowinglocations:
•Abatterysupplier
•Anauthorizedbatterycollectionfacility
•Recyclingfacility

Theclearanceofthebucketcontrollinkageonthismachinecanbeadjustedbyshimming.Ifthe gapbetweenthebucketandthestickbecomesexcessive,adjustbucketclearance(7)to 0.5to1mm(0.02to0.04inch).
Twoshimsofdifferentthicknessareusedatlocation(8).Thethicknessesoftheshimsare0.5mm (0.02inch)and1.0mm(0.04inch).
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurfaceandlowerthebuckettotheground.
2.Slowlyoperatetheswingcontrolleveruntilstickboss(4)andthebucketboss(6)areinfull facecontactatnogap(5).Thiswillhelptodeterminethetotalclearanceoftheconnection pointofthestickandofthebucket.
3.MovethehydrauliclockoutcontroltotheLOCKEDposition.Stoptheengine.
4.Measurebucketclearance(7),whichistheexistingtotalclearance.
5.Determinethenumberofshimsthatneedtoberemovedfromshims(2)byusingthe followingcalculation:
Subtract0.5mm(0.02inch)or1.0mm(0.04inch)frombucketclearance(7).
6.Removetheappropriatenumberofshimsatlocation(8)tomeettheabovethickness.Make surethatyouuseaminimumofthree0.5mm(0.02inch)shims.Toremovetheshims, removebolts(9),washers(10),andplate(11).
7.Afterthecorrectnumberofshimshasbeenremovedandpin(1)isalignedwiththepinhole, installplate(11),bolts(9),andwashers(10).Tightentheboltsto240±40N·m (175±30lbft).
8.Afterinstallation,makesurethatbucketclearance(7)isstillcorrect.
