Graduation Highlights –Your Future in Focus
Just a few months ago, more than 400 graduates crossed the stage at our spectacular ceremonies at Selby Abbey and Wakefield Cathedral — moments full of pride, joy and inspiration. These are students just like you, many of whom juggled work, family life and other responsibilities to achieve their goals. They were celebrated by family, friends and some incredible guest speakers — including Keir Mather MP and artist Jason Wilsher-Mills MBE — who reminded them that anything is possible when you stay ambitious and committed.
Having graduated with a Certificate in Education (Lifelong Learning), David said: “Graduating is something I never thought I would achieve so I’m thrilled to have done it. Now I am here as a Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery at Wakefield College.”
In a few short years, that could be you on stage.

Graduate Tyler Leads Wigan Warriors to Victory
Graduating in 2024 was the icing on the cake for Applied Sport graduate Tyler Dupree, who also helped Wigan Warriors make Super League history in 2024 – winning every trophy on offer within the calendar year.
As a Prop Forward for the team, Tyler lead them to multiple victories including winning the Grand Final at Old Trafford, the World Club Challenge 2024, the Challenge Cup 2024 and the League Leaders Shield 2024.
Acknowledging his significant achievements, Tyler was shortlisted for the Association of College’s Higher Education Student of the Year Award 2024. Tyler said about the achievement: “I’m incredibly proud to be a part of such a pivotal moment in Wigan Warriors’ history, which has seen us become the first club in Super League to win all four trophies in one season. This has been a career-defining year for me, and it feels even more special to have my achievements recognised both on and off the field by being shortlisted for this award.”

Higher Education Art, Design & Media students from Selby College proudly showcased their creative talents in a special exhibition at Selby Town Hall.
Featuring architectural designs, contemporary pieces, light and video installations, 3D sculptures and sustainable artwork, the exhibition celebrates the breadth of its students’ creativity.
