REGISTRATION

1. Online registration link available at cityofaltonil.gov/sports – NEW

2. You may register in person at our office at #2 Emmie L. Kaus Lane, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We accept cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards.

3. Mail in registration to the department office at 2 Emmie L. Kaus Lane. Registration form must be completed, signed by the participant or a parent if a children’s program, and fee enclosed with check or money order made payable to: Alton Parks and Recreation.

4. All fees are subject to change without notice.

5. Some programs are limited in size; and registrations will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.

6. When programs reach capacity, additional names will be placed on a wait list.

7. If a program minimum is not reached, a refund will be issued within 4 – 6 weeks.

8. Additional fees will be charged for registrations received after a program deadline.

Riverbend Baseball & Softball - Spring 2026

DIVISIONS: T-ball, Machine Pitch, 10U, 12U, and 14U

DOB RANGE: 9/1/11-8/31/21

SEASON: 10 games beginning in June. All T-ball and Machine Pitch games will be played at Gordon Moore Park. For 10U-14U Home games will be played at Gordon Moore Park with away games held in Godfrey and Jerseyville. Practices are scheduled by coaches, usually 3-4 weeks before the season starts.

EQUIPMENT: Players provide their own gloves, shoes, and pants. Team shirts and team equipment are provided.

FEES: Early bird registration ends 2/28/26. REGULAR REGISTRATION ENDS 4/5/26.

Adult Softball - Summer 2026

ALTON-WOOD RIVER Adult slow pitch softball leagues:

Monday: Men

Tuesday: Men, Wednesday: Coed

Thursday: Church.

Games start in May.

Church league will play all games at Gordon Moore Park.

All other leagues will play home games at Gordon Moore Park, and away games in Wood River.

Team fee: $600

Deadline: 4/12/26

Late fee: $50

Rosters must have 11 players minimum and 20 players maximum, except for Coed which is unlimited.

SPRING SOCCER, 2026 -- COED:

Unless a division has sufficient numbers to play separate boys and girls.

Open to boys and girls. The season includes 8 games in April & May.All games are played at Gordon Moore Park, on north side fields (north of Highway 140). Most games are on Saturdays, but some games may be on MondayThursday evenings. Practices are scheduled by coaches about 2-3 weeks before games begin..

EQUIPMENT: Players must wear shin guards and socks that completely cover their shin guards. Soccer cleats are recommended but are not mandatory.

BETHALTO PARKS

Central Park - located behind Village Hall, this park is home to the annual Bethalto Homecoming, Bethalto Christmas Village and several other events. The park includes lighted tennis courts, lighted basketball court, open space, picnic facilities and a bandstand. The park is home to Bethalto Splash Pad.

Bethalto Arboretum - adjacent to Central Park, contains more than 150 different species of trees and plant life on 2.5 acres. Contains a fitness path, war memorial and perennial garden.

Bryant Park - located along Culp Lane and Stadium Drive features fishing lake, one-mile walk or bike path, picnic areas, playground, multiple pavilions and restrooms.

Sportsman’s Park - located along Culp Lane west of Culp Park. Home to the civic Memorial Eagles baseball and softball teams this park includes (2) regulation size baseball diamonds, (2) softball diamonds, a youth baseball diamond, (2) regulation soccer fields, multiple seating areas, press box and concession stand.

Rotary Park - located at the corner of Grant St and West Corbin. This park was built by the Bethalto Rotary Club to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International and contains the Rotary Gear Logo with a span of more than 80 feet believed to be the largest in existence.

Water Tower Park - located at intersection of Second and Grant Street is a small neighborhood park

West End Park is at the intersection of Plegge and Old Bethalto Road

South Side Park (Field of Dreams) - is located near the southeast edge of the village. This park contains (4) lighted ball diamonds

COLLINSVILLE PARKS

Activity Center 10 Gateway Dr. home to events thru-out the year.

Collins House 703 West Main Street the focal point of the park is the D.D. Collins House which is a Greek revival home built in 1845, the house is open for tours Saturdays 11 am to 3 pm.

Collinsville Aqua Park 10 Gateway Dr. home to 7 water slides, monsoon mountain, lazy river, leisure pool, lap pool, and aqua climb wall.

Glidden Park Branch Street offers tennis, pickleball, basketball, playgrounds, picnic areas and walking trails.

Morris Hills Park Woodland Dr. this 1.4 acre park is tucked away in a beautiful secluded area and includes basketball court, playground equipment and a picnic area.

Mutts on Main Dog Park 509 E Main Street Free dog park however, you must have application on file as park is gated. Open dawn to dusk.

Schnuck’s Memorial Park 419 Camelot Dr. features a playground, gazebo and pond for fishing

Collinsville Sports Complex 198 Complex Dr. is home to (12) ball fields. The 12 acre park also includes a football field, one lit soccer field and areas for 4 practice fields. Features batting cages, a concession stand and restrooms

Willoughby Farm 631 Willoughby Lane public park with the atmosphere of 1040’s farm complete with tractors, barns, 1930’s Craftsman Farm House, live animals. This 30 acre wildlife preserve incudes hiking trails, bridges and vistas overlooking the prairie

Woodland Park Pine Lake Road, features 5 NEW park pavilions (built 2023), 2 baseball fields, Disc Golf Course, 4 newly installed playgrounds, 2 large ponds with fishing access

Van Preter Park

500 Playground Court, EastAlton, IL62024

Van Preter Park is centrally located in the Village of EastAlton.This 13.8-acre park consists of four baseball diamonds, two playground units, two small pavilions, and one large pavilion. There are many flower beds and several MemorialTrees planted throughout the park, which brightens our park throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons.The Park and Recreation Department invites you and your family to come and enjoy the many recreation opportunities that our park offers. Park closes at dusk or following the last scheduled park program. For information concerning our park or any programs offered by the Parks & Recreation Department please call the Keasler Complex (618) 259-7411.

Bill Tite Memorial Lions Park

300 Block of Ohio Street, EastAlton, IL62024

BillTite Memorial – Lions Park is located on the north side of the Keasler Recreation Complex.To access this park takeThird Street and turn north onto Ohio.The entrance will be found in the 300 block of Ohio Street.This park consists of a large playground unit, two swing-set units, with toddler seats, a climbing unit, a see-saw rider, 2 large multiple play stations, picnic tables, park benches, barbecue grills, restrooms, and an open green space area too.The Park and Recreation Department invites you and your family to come and enjoy the recreation equipment that our park offers. Brent Leh Dog Park - Corner of Olive Street and West Schwarz near downtown, has synthetic turf and some agility equipment

City Park - 101 South Buchanan on 2.088 acres, site of Edwardsville Pulbic Library and Cleanon Etzkorn Bandstand. Location of many festivals including Route 66 in June and Edwardsville Symphony and Friday night concerts

Drda Woods - 5404 New Poag Road is a 71 acre park that is currently being reforested with the help of volunteers and the HeartLand Conservancy. Future restoration will include a parking lot and walking path.

Hoppe Park- 1500 Tower Ave. is on 10 acres. Home of the Edwardsville Little Lauge baseball program. Bulletpoint list: One major league size baseball field, One elementary size basebal field, One concession/restroom building, Three playground areas

Hotz Park - 300 Randle Street is the smallest park in Edwardsville and one of the smallest parks in the country. Located at the intersection of St. Louis and Randle Street, it holds a huge stone bearing a bronze plaque, commemorating the City's five resident Governors.

Joe Glik Park -710 East Lake Drive 42+ acres, is the City’s largest passive park. Bulletpojnt list: 2,500 ft. of walking, biking, skating trails, Two stocked fishing lakes with a concrete fishing deck, Three picnic pavillions (two rentable) and two restrooms, Playground with ADA compliant soft surfacing, Sand colleyball and basketball courts, Shaded off-leach fenced dog park area with trees to run around.

Leclaire Baseball Field - 701 Hale Ave. is 3.3 acres home to signature little league baseball facilities

Leclaire Park - 900Hale Ave. is set on 5.8 acres located within the historic Leclaire neighborhood. This beautiful park includes three playground areas, historic bandstand gazebo, large picnic pavilion along with two small picnic shelters (rentable), bbq grills, handicap accessible restrooms, two acre fishing lake with lighted fountain and waterfall. Beautiful location for weddings

Leon Corlew Park - 333 South Main Street is on 2 acres home to Accessible Splash Pad, Playground, Three Pavilions (rentable), fitness trail, restrooms, concession area and bbq grills.

Lusk Park - 535 Randle Street sits on 2.8 acres, is the site of the City’s oldest cemetery, and considered to be a passive park.

Plummer Family Park - 3501 Sports Park Drive is built on 83 acres and there is room for expansion for more baseball/softball multipurpose fields

Rotary Park - HadleyAve. is a 0.5 acres small neighborhood park. The Park includes a playground and picnic tables

Springer Woods Park - Frederick Street & Springer Woods Lane is on 10.4 acres and is a wooded nature area that winds through a quiet neighborhood in the central, north end of the city. Includes Children’s Playground, ExerciseTrail, two picnic table shelters with BBQ grills.

Terry Park - TerryAve. is set on 3.9 acres and is largely a natural wildlife area

Tower Park - 89 Bennington Place is a one-acre neighborhood park which includes Basketball Court, Picnic Pavilion and Barbecue Grill

Vadalabene Park - 501 & 599 VogeAve. 3.75 acres is the home of the City’s youth softball & PeeweeT-Ball programs.The Park includes one basketball court, two lighted softball fields, a children’s “tot lot” playground and two concession stands with restrooms

Winston Brown Recreation Complex - 1325 SchillerAve. 10.5 acres, previously known as Lower Hoppe Park, includes two lighted softball fields, children’s playground, concession stand with restroom building, two picnic pavilions, two sand volleyball courts and two lighted full court basketball courts with spectator seating

Daddy-Daughter Dance

This special event is an annual family favorite at the beautiful WildeyTheatre in Edwardsville! It's officially the Daddy-Daughter Dance, but boys and girls, moms and dads, grandparents and all others are invited to put on their dancing shoes and enjoy a sweet evening of music and memories.The event includes dancing, dinner, photo booth and crafts.

Spooky Skate

For a SCARYgood time, come enjoy the R.P. Lumber Center's Spooky Skate!This special event will include a costume contest, games, a photo opportunity, candy, and of course, skating.You will be sure to have a fab-boo-lous time!

Paws in the Park

Our annual Paws in the Park event offers your furry friend a fun occasion to romp, scamper and play as part of our doggy Easter egg hunt in City Park!There will be lots of treats and prizes, plus dog-oriented vendors. Profits from this event will be donated to the Metro East Humane Society!

Halloween Costume Contest

Noon to 1:30:

The City of Edwardsville is excited to bring back our annual Halloween Costume Contest! Show off your scariest, goofiest and most creative costumes across the City Park stage. The categories include: ages 0-3, ages 4-6, ages 7-9, ages 1016, groups, and pets. First-, second- and third-place honors will be awarded that day in each category!

DETAILS:

Contest will begin at noon on Saturday, October 25. It is FREE to participate in the contest. Registration for the contest will open at 10 a.m. in front of the City Park bandstand and close at 11:30 a.m.

Edwardsville Route 66 Festival

Edwardsville’s annual Route 66 Festival has been taking place for more than a quarter of a century to celebrate the City’s many decades of Route 66 history and tradition! From morning to night, the festival is a rollicking fun time for all ages and interests in City Park in beautiful downtown Edwardsville!

Winter Market Festival

Saturday, December 6, from noon to 5 p.m. in City Park: Celebrate the holiday season with an assortment of local artisan vendors, festive entertainment, crafts and food, Santa Claus and the City’s annual tree lighting ceremony! Stroll around City Park and find the perfect gift for anyone on your list (plus a little something for yourself). Plus, enjoy some holiday tunes, free kids craft and visits with Santa ahead of the tree lighting ceremony.

Santa Visits Nickel Plate Station in Edwardsville

Santa has scheduled a series of visits to Edwardsville’s Nickel Plate Station! Santa will arrive on Saturday, November 29, to the Nickel Plate Station and return every Saturday andTuesday leading up to Christmas (except for Saturday, December 6, when Santa will be joining us for our Winter Market Festival in City Park).

Skate with Santa

Sunday, December 14:This fun-filled event includes a skate with Santa Claus from noon to 2 p.m., plus opportunities to write a letter to Santa, take some fun holiday photos, enjoy hot cocoa, and watch a holiday-themed ice skating performance.

Clifton Terrace Park:

GODFREY PARKS

3216 McAdams Parkway (Route 100), Clifton Terrace Park is a beautiful 3-acre park located on the Meeting of the Great Rivers Scenic Byway along the Mississippi River. Clifton Terrace Park is a rest stop on the stateowned Vadalabene Bike Trail. Clifton Terrace Park offers a playground, memorial trees, an informative kiosk and restroom facilities. Clifton Terrace is a great place for eagle watching during the winter months.

Godfrey Ball Park:

810 Stamper Lane, The Godfrey Ball Park is home to six baseball/softball diamonds and a concession stand with restroom facilities. The youth baseball and softball programs take place at the Ball Park and across the street at the new ball fields in Glazebrook Park. The concession stand is open during games during May, June and July.

Great Rivers Park:

2102 McAdams Parkway (Route 100), Great Rivers Park is Godfrey’s newest park. The Gardens are built in honor of the first Mayor of Godfrey, Lars Hoffman, and his family and aptly named Hoffman Gardens.

Glazebrook Park:

1401 Stamper Lane, Glazebrook Park is the site of all of the special events, including the Great Godfrey Maze in September and October. Glazebrook Park measures 120-acres with two ponds, two playgrounds, two concession stands, three restroom facilities, two rentable shelters, a rentable gazebo, four soccer fields, four lighted-baseball fields and over 2.5 miles of walking trails. Glazebrook Park is home to many of the memorial trees planted annually through memorial donations.

Homer Adams Park:

6810 Godfrey Road, Homer Adams Park is located on the Village Hall campus. This park has three rentable shelters, a restroom facility, playground and a demonstration garden provided by the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners program. Homer Adams Park is home to the first memorial trees planted annually through memorial donations.

LAVista at Gladys LevisAllen Park:

2421 West Delmar (Route 3), LA Vista Park measures 93-acres. LA Vista Park’s mile-long trail received a face lift on its lower half with the assistance of a Scenic Byways Grant. LA Vista is also home to an 18-Hole Disc Golf Course.

WOOD RIVER PARKS & RECREATION RIVER PARKS

Belk Park - 234-acres is our largest park located on Rock Hill Road at the eastern edge of the city. In addition to the 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, the present facilities include a lake with fishing, picnic areas, an open field, children’s playground equipment, shelters (which can be rented by visiting the Round House), woodland, open space and a walking path. Belk Park has a clubhouse for rent with a nice-sized multipurpose room and seating for 168.

Brushey Grove Park - This oneacre park is located at the corner of Linton and Miland, next to the old fire station. This park includes a playground facility and basketball court.

Wood River provides eight major parks with over 300 acres of facilities. The parks include:

Central Park (Round House) - A five-acre park located on Wood River Avenue, adjacent to the High School, offers many activities which include bandstand, playground, gazebo, barbecue pits, Veteran’s Memorial and large activity center commonly referred to as the “Round House”.

East End Park - 13 acres and adjacent to the City Garage on 14th Street, East End Park playground apparatus, basketball court, picnic tables, shelter house and a picnic shelter that measures 20´ x 30´.

Emerick Sports Complex - This 8-acre complex is located on the North End of Sixth Street at Park Lane. The highlight for the children is our new playground. This colorful addition has plenty to keep the young ones entertained for hours. This complex is the sight of our Men’s Softball league and our summer youth league games. This facility contains three lighted softball diamonds and one baseball diamond. There is a concession stand, and a lake for fishing.

West End Park - This 5.5-acre park can be found in the southwest part of town on Walcott St. It has a lighted ball diamond (George Wallace Field), shelter facilities, basketball hoop and playground equipment.

Wood River Soccer & Skate Park - 43 acres that contain two lighted regulation soccer fields, one unlighted practice soccer field, a walking path, playground apparatus, skateboard park, ample parking, a concession stand , stadium bleachers to view the playing fields, and a picnic shelter.
