Introducing:
5th Annual Great Lakes Beer Festival
Frohliche Polka Band
The friendliest German Brass Band you will ever meet! Throw on your dirndl, lederhosen and dancing shoes, rinse out your bier stein, and join us at our next performance! Hailing from the heart of Michigan, Fröhliche Polka Band is the state’s premier polka band, captivating audiences with their infectious rhythms and high-energy performances. Led by David Valasek and Dr. Sara Beth Keough, and backed by a dynamic ensemble of brass, woodwind, and percussion players, FPB delivers an electrifying blend of traditional polka favorites and modern interpretations. From the lively “Beer Barrel Polka” to the foot-stomping “Michigan Polka,” their repertoire is a celebration of the state’s rich cultural heritage and the joy of dancing.

Whether performing at local festivals, community events, or private celebrations, Fröhliche Polka Band brings an unparalleled level of energy and enthusiasm to every stage. Their ability to engage the crowd and create an unforgettable atmosphere has earned them a loyal following throughout Michigan and beyond.
Ty Parkin & the Old Souls
Ty took his dream to Nashville Tennessee where he played up and down the busy strip of Broadway. He sang and entertained for Tootsies Orchid Lounge, The Stage, Legends Corner, Kid Rocks, Second Fiddle, Rippys, Honky-Tonk Central, FGL House, Redneck Riviera, Crossroads, Tin Roof, Hard Rock Cafe, Nashville Underground and many more. He spent five years in and out of Nashville touring the north & south including festival shows opening for artists such as Tyler Farr, Eddie Montgomery, and Craig Morgan. Ty moved back home in 2020, performing acoustic shows around northern Michigan while releasing his first radio single Drinkin for Two. He’s released his latest single Lonely Nights and has put together one heck of a band. “The Old Souls” perform a mix of originals along with hits from across the decades of country music. Made up from the finest musicians in Northern Michigan, including Michigan Country Hall of Fame member Barry Gokee on steel guitar, this band knows how to get them dancing and singing along!
