KEEPING STUDENTS MOTIVATED POST-WINTER BREAK by Alyssa Seidman

he presents have been unwrapped, the trees taken down, and the decorations packed away. Winter break is over and school is back in session, which means children all over Connecticut are falling back into their regular routines. Many, however, may be caught up in the post-break slump. Much like the learning lag students experience after summer vacation, this phenomena affects their ability to get back into the swing of school after spending a few weeks away from the classroom.

As your child rounds the midpoint of the school year, it’s important their mind stays sharp so they can finish strong come June. We spoke with a handful of educators from Fairfield County’s finest schools to see how they help their students avoid the post-break slump.
