THE INSIDER

WHAT’S COMING NEXT

One of my favorite parts of attending HFA (Health & Fitness Association Show), our annual fitness conference each year, is bringing fresh energy and fresh ideas —back home to you.

This year, we found some exciting new equipment that I can’t wait for you to experience in the club. Our goal is always to keep your workouts effective, efficient, and just a little more fun and these additions do exactly that.

WHAT’S COMING NEXT

This year we had the chance to try something pretty unique—a standing cold plunge. Yes, standing! It’s a different (and surprisingly invigorating) take on recovery. This sparked some great conversations about how we can continue to expand recovery options for you.

Also, if you’ve been thinking about changing up your routine or looking for a new challenge, we’re exploring the launch of a running and strength program. Whether you’re brand new to running or just want more structure and support, this will be designed to meet you where you are, help you build confidence, and get results.

Everything we’re working on comes back to one goal: making HealthSPORT a place you’re excited to walk into and proud to be part of.

More to come soon… and as always, we love hearing your feedback.

See you in the club,

-Susan Jansson & Team

MAKING A SPLASH

HealthSPORT REDEFINES SWIM SAFETY

A LEVEL FOR EVERY LEARNER

Swimming isn’t just a recreational pastime in Humboldt County, it’s a vital life skill. At HealthSPORT, we’ve spent the last year refining and expanding our aquatic programs to ensure that every child in our community has access to high-quality swim instruction. From our newest swimmers to our advanced conditioned athletes, our "quality over quantity" approach is transforming how local families think about time in the water. Our newly-improved Swim School that launched in January 2026 features six distinct levels designed to grow with your child. We begin with our Baby + Me classes, fostering early comfort and bonding, and progress all the way to our Swim Academy. HealthSPORT Swim trains and equips swimmers beginning as early as 6 months of age.

CAMPS & COMMUNITY

Now in its second year, HealthSPORT Swim Camp has become a local staple.

AND AQUATIC FUN

Offered multiple times throughout the year, these camps combine friendship with rigorous swim skill-building. We ensure every camper receives focused lessons, earns a water safety certification through our Red Cross curriculum, and leaves as a stronger swimmer. We are almost full for summer, so make sure to grab your spot!

We’ve also introduced a new favorite program: Parents’ Night Out. Kids enjoy three hours of pool time and a pizza party! We stagger these events between our Arcata and Eureka locations to provide families with multiple options throughout the month for a night off.

MAKING A SPLASH

A COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY

We believe that water safety is a right, not a privilege. With the ocean, lagoons, lakes, and six rivers in our shared “backyard”, it’s imperative our youth can navigate the waterways in our county safely and confidently. We take immense pride in our many partnerships with local schools and organizations, providing opportunity for students from all walks of life to access swim lessons and water safety training. Our gym truly comes to life when our young clients are here.
