Kyle has been with us 7 years and takes special care when it comes to packaging the products he designs. "I make sure it is very well padded and wrapped so no damage can occur during transportation. That way, when the customer opens the package, the item looks just as it did when I finished."

Building the Future of HCL ® Manufacturing

Six months after work began, the machines powered down and the noise faded inside our new manufacturing plant. Contract workers stepped away from their tools for a well-deserved appreciation lunch—a brief pause after months of tight deadlines and rapid progress. The moment marked more than significant advancements on a construction project. It signaled the beginning of a new chapter for HCL® Manufacturing. That chapter began in June 2025, when we purchased the former RCA® building in Circleville, signaling a major investment in the future of our production operations. The facility is just half a mile from our headquarters.

“We’re no strangers to rehabbing old manufacturing facilities,” says President Bethany Reid, adding that our headquarters previously housed a Coca-Cola® plant. “We’re excited to continue to breathe manufacturing life back into the south side of Circleville.”

New Spaces, Same Faces

Over the following months, crews worked quickly to transform the building. Painting, roofing, floor preparation and new office construction laid the groundwork. Soon after, Cabinets and Metals division teams began the transition from Urbancrest and Grove City to the new facility, with the Plastics division set to follow soon.

The move includes significant investments in new equipment designed to expand capabilities and increase productivity across all divisions.

The Cabinets, Metals and Plastics teams include approximately 50 employees. With additional space and expanded capabilities, long-term plans call for doubling that number within the next 5 to 10 years.

Together under one roof, the divisions now have room to grow—and new ways to work together.

A Celebration of Progress

Just as important as the progress itself was recognizing the people who made it happen. “It’s only possible through the great relationships between Jay-Car, HCL® and all the subcontractors that this was able to be achieved on such an exceptionally tight deadline,” says Reid. “Communication, the ability to pivot and a ‘let’s do this!’ attitude were all part of the recipe for success on this project.”

Facilities and Safety Director Matt Carver says it was a team effort, and everyone involved showed pride in their work.

More than additional square footage, the new facility represents a commitment to smart, sustainable growth—and to supporting American manufacturing in Pickaway County.

KERN Laser System

650-watt power; 120" x 60" cutting bed

One of the largest plastic-cutting lasers in Ohio, this powerful system can cut thicker-grade materials much faster than traditional machines. It allows us to upload graphics and photos to etch logos and lifelike images onto a variety of materials.

Security Box

Clear material keeps contents visible for quick inventory checks.

We designed this solution for a customer who wants to secure controlled substance vials inside a safe. We customized an existing design to meet specific box size and lock requirements.

We upgraded our original design with stronger material and integrated hinges to stand up to heavy use and aggressive cleaning chemicals. The Pod 2.0 protects up to 2 IV bags by restricting access to unauthorized personnel.

Our talented Print By Design professionals can produce premium print products to meet your unique needs. And there’s no additional charge for artwork. From customized pharmacy labels to floor decals, magnets, banners and more, we pay close attention to your goals, then create attractive products that effectively communicate your message.

Once a label is ordered, large rolls of colored adhesive paper are loaded into the printers, and labels are cut to exact size.
