You will read about how our extraordinary HCFM team of 44 Holy Cross sisters, brothers and priests, 150+ lay team members, 400 volunteers, and 1,100+ donors brought prayer and faith into the lives of many in need. Our founder, Venerable Patrick Peyton, devoted his life to bring families together through prayer. One could argue that our time's challenges are more daunting than those of Father Peyton’s day. It is safe to assume one thing: If Father Peyton were here and alive today, he would act boldly to bring together friends and strangers to advance our mission of helping families pray and grow in the faith.

STORIES OF IMPACT For 78 years, HCFM has always been committed to improving families’ lives and our world through spiritual growth by expanding engaging prayer and faith opportunities. Saint Thomas Aquinas once said, “We cannot love what we do not know.” At HCFM, we prioritize and value every opportunity to advance the knowledge of and love for prayer and our Catholic faith. We seek to serve and impact the lives of every individual and family we serve, no matter where they are in their faith journey. The following stories provide a glimpse into some of the impact HCFM has had through your generosity. Lala Unleashing the Power and Promise of Family Prayer “Prayer is strength,” says Lala, a parishioner at a Holy Cross church in India and someone served by the Holy Cross Family Ministries ministry center in India. Lala’s faith life has been reinvigorated by the words and living legacy of Father Peyton. HCFM’s team and family retreats showed Lala the power of family prayer, and today, he and his family pray morning and night. Despite health and financial hardships, Lala says his family rarely prays for “much” because God has provided them with “everything [they] need.” With the strength fostered by family prayer, Lala and his loved ones decided to welcome a new member to their small family of faith- a disabled girl who needed a family to love and support her. While some may see this adjustment to be a difficult task, Lala knows that all things are
possible through Christ and the support of HCFM. “We never ever thought that she is an extra burden to our family; instead, we feel, she is a real blessing to us,” says Lala. Lala’s experiences with HCFM’s retreats and spiritual direction services helped him and his family unleash the power and promise of family prayer. HCFM’s international ministry centers serve all corners of the world, revolutionizing the prayer lives of our brothers and sisters. The impact is real, and the positive effects of prayer can be seen through Lala’s loving and faith-filled family.

Joyce and Shelly Unleashing the Power and Promise of Family Prayer "I trust in the power of the Rosary. The world is full of problems. Being Catholic and trying to be religious is not easy, but the Rosary brings us together,” says Joyce. Joyce and her husband, Shelly, have attended the daily Rosary and Mass for many years at the Father Peyton Center and Museum of Family Prayer in Easton, Massachusetts. They have experienced the transformative power of prayer through HCFM and are eager to share that experience with others. Joyce and Shelly at the Museum of Family Prayer.
Joyce brought her church’s women’s guild for a special tour of the Museum, which interactively depicts the evolution of prayer and the inspiring story of Father Peyton. Joyce loves how the Museum shows the origins of prayers, how our faith reaches all corners of the world, and notes how there is “too much to see in one visit!” Joyce and her women’s guild found it powerful to examine how one man, Father Peyton, accomplished so much for families and touched the lives of millions. The Museum embodies Father Peyton’s enthusiasm for family prayer, and Joyce and Shelly say the Peyton Center and Museum is a “very holy experience, and we bring other people here because it is such as holy experience.” Shelly says, “The Rosary is not just for Catholics. We all come from different backgrounds, but we can all come together to pray the Rosary.” Joyce and Shelly have found that their experiences at daily Rosary and Mass, and tours of the Museum have

improved their spiritual life and strengthened their faith and marriage. The power of prayer is alive and well in Joyce and Shelly’s lives. Almost daily, they and many other visitors encounter the positive impact of HCFM’s work at the Peyton Center and Museum.
Allison Cultivating Catholic Families Allison first found HCFM’s ministry Catholic Mom in 2012 while scrolling through her Twitter feed. There, she came across a request that Catholic Mom was looking for bloggers who would be interested in writing for them. Allison submitted a piece and was notified that day she was chosen to help write
for Catholic Mom. Allison explains, “having used the site’s offerings as a Catholic mother, I knew the value of the content on this website (CatholicMom.com). When I saw a way to be even the smallest piece of this vital resource, I jumped on the chance.” Since then, Allison has been volunteering her time writing and helping support other Catholic mothers. Allison’s favorite service Catholic Mom has to offer are the Daily Gospel Reflection emails because “the beauty of this feature comes from the inspiration found through the many different voices contributing to the reflections” and “knowing the power of spending time in God’s word, even when I am at my busiest, makes me very grateful to know I can rely on this wonderful daily inbox reminder!”
Allison’s motherhood, she relied on the wisdom of the other moms. “It was so comforting to know I wasn’t alone, or the only one, experiencing the triumphs and trials of Catholic motherhood,” explains Allison. Allison knows how important the Catholic Mom community is to not only herself and her family but to all the other mothers who rely on this resource. To her, it has been amazing to watch Catholic Mom flourish and the successful utilization of social media continue to connect and support not only women but families, especially in these times. Don Cultivating Catholic Families Throughout the pandemic, Don’s role as Director of Pastoral Ministries at St. Stanislaus Catholic Community in Modesto, California expanded into new areas including digital marketing. In addition to overseeing the Faith Formation Program, RCIA, Parish Missions and Lay Ministries, he was now creating the online reservation page for the weekly indoor Masses during the pandemic. Don had previously become a fan of our series “Catholic Central,” because of its high-quality entertaining and educational videos. He found the videos to be an effective way to present Catholic educational content in an accessible way in the parish’s youth and adult Confirmation Program. Now with the reservation webpage, Don creatively incorporated the “Catholic Central” video on the Sunday Morning Liturgy to engage lapsed, fallen away and disengaged Catholics. This video, like the over 50 other videos in the “Catholic Central” series, offers an inspiring and fun way to learn about Catholic practices and cultivate families of faith. Don, like so many other committed pastoral leaders and Catholic school teachers, is making a lasting impact on his Catholic community by sharing our digital video series. The series can be found for free at www.CatholicCentral.com and each video is accompanied by an activity guide.

"I was born in a Christian family and from childhood my parents taught me about Jesus. I never used to bother to listen or pay attention when it was prayer time or time for church. I’m used to being in my own world all the time thinking only about myself. After attending two of the Father Peyton Prayer Guild events I was touched by their lessons and technique of teaching us the Bible and the Rosary. I then became child of God and I now go to church and strongly believe in Jesus Christ. Financial Highlights Investing donations and endowment funds wisely. Just as you are generously committed to furthering our mission, we are committed to fiscal prudence to ensure sustainability and growth. Through your donations, we were able to raise $1,769,348 through 1,875 gifts in Fiscal Year 2020 (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020). Investment returns from past generous endowment gifts covered the balance of our expenses. Fiscal Year 2020 expenses were in keeping with charity rating acceptable standards and measures, demonstrating a strong, responsible organization.

Of a total budget of $10.9M, 78% or $8.5M went directly to support the mission programs of the ministry including Family Rosary U.S.A., Family Rosary International, the Father Peyton Family Institutes, and Family Theater Productions. We invested 22% or $2.4M in operations using returns from endowment gifts. Our past private endowment donors allow us to keep our 100% promise that every dollar you donate goes directly to mission activities.
