Serving in Prayer and Faith Our Response to COVID-19 Dear Friends, Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM) has been keeping you and your loved ones in our prayers during these challenging times. The changes brought about in our daily lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic beckons us back to our core dynamic of faith. The need for family prayer and faith has never been more urgent. Just as families need medical care, food, and shelter, they also need God's love and mercy. In response to this crisis and the increased spiritual needs of families, our HCFM team has refocused our energy and efforts on what will best serve the family in prayer and faith. With some churches closed, the domestic church, or the family’s home, is as important as ever. That is why we have devoted ourselves to supporting the spiritual needs of the family and the domestic church by enhancing and expanding our digital prayer and spiritual experiences. The next few pages share some of the critical services we’re providing and the impact that has on building up our domestic churches and families. Your support has funded key faith-filled experiences from our video Catholic education series "Catholic Central" to our family focused weekly podcast "Catholic Momcast" to our June and July webinar series focused on training Church leaders to help Catholic families see their households as real extensions of the Church. As you read this brief update, I hope you take pride in knowing your philanthropy and kindness has made this work possible and helped thousands of families during this crisis. Together we’ve built up the family and brought them closer to God, but we must also remember that more needs to be done. Many families are in pain due to COVID-19 and need to deepen their faith, so that we all come out of this pandemic stronger than ever. Serving in Prayer and Faith: Our Response to COVID-19 Our new Peyton Institute for Domestic Church Life held a virtual six week long Family Life Director Summit from June to July for the Diocesan Family Life Directors who are Church leaders focusing on supporting family spirituality, with topics such as Celebrating the Liturgy of Domestic Church Life. Families at home and children unable to attend school, are able to continue their faith formation at home through watching new Catholic Central episodes produced by our ministry Family Theater Productions. At CatholicCentral.com, families find "going deeper" questions and free downloadable activity guides that accompany each episode.This Spring we launched a Spanish-language version called Lente Catรณlico. Visit LenteCatolico.com to watch this new, approachable and informative faithfilled series that connects with the younger Hispanic Catholic audience in the U.S. and Latin America. CatholicMom.com has all the latest articles on how to deal with the sudden stress of parenting during the pandemic. There you will find articles such as Suddenly Homeschooling, which provides tips on how to cope with this new way of life. You can find other articles, podcasts, and resources that support families and faith during these difficult times by visiting CatholicMom.com. Over the last few months, we partnered with the Daughters of St. Paul in California, South Carolina, and Kansas. The Daughters of St. Paul are doing drive-thru giveaways and passing out our Rosaries with the small guides on praying the Rosary. Prayer is more important than ever right now. In East Africa, weekly Family Rosary radio programs are inspiring the home bound to pray together. In Ireland and other countries, our online broadcasts of the Rosary and Masses have increased. In America, there is Rosary with the youth through Zoom every evening and phone calls and emails to lonely seniors to check on them during these hard times. We continue to spread the power of Rosary nightly at 6:00pm ET through the Family Rosary Across America on Relevant Radio. Rosary and Mass is celebrated daily at 11:30am ET at the Museum of Family Prayer and Father Peyton Center in Easton, MA. You can join virtually by visiting Facebook.com/FamilyRosary (you do not need a Facebook account to watch!). Confession is also available outside the building every Monday-Friday 3-4pm.

Recent Updates and News While our physical offices may be closed at the moment, thousands of families are being served through FamilyRosary.org, FamilyTheater.org, CatholicMom.com, and our other faith-filled websites. These free online digital resources are more essential than ever before. With your support, all of this is possible. HCFM is pleased to announce the new Peyton Institute for Domestic Church Life. This Institute is a think-tank charged with developing new models of family prayer and spirituality to help Catholic families flourish in an authentically Catholic way. The Institute is based at the Father Peyton Center in Easton, MA under the leadership of Dr. Greg and Lisa Popcak of Pastoral Solutions Institute. The Institute ran June and July's Family Life Director Summit webinar series, and we look forward to providing further trainings and sharing more exciting news about this initiative! Hosted by Lisa Hendey, the founder of CatholicMom.com and author of the Chime Travelers series of books, the show encourages the young and the young at heart to read, share and tell their stories. Continuing Venerable Peyton's Legacy and Supporting Families in Faith While physically closed due to COVID-19, The Museum of Family Prayer is serving families with digital prayer experiences through social media, and we look forward to reopening soon.
