Celebrating 40 Years of Service to the H.A.R.D. Community
Dear Community Members,
As President of the H A R D Foundation Board, I am pleased to welcome you to Summer 2026—a season filled with opportunities to play, learn, and connect in our parks and recreation spaces Since 1983, the H A R D Foundation has proudly partnered with the Hayward Area Recreation & Park District (H A R D ) to strengthen our community by expanding access to parks, programs, and experiences that enhance quality of life

Summer at H A R D means children discovering new interests at camp, families gathering in neighborhood parks, teens building confidence through recreation, and seniors staying active and connected These experiences matter They support physical health, mental well-being, and a sense of belonging—and they should be within reach for everyone
That is why the H A R D Foundation is deeply committed to removing barriers to participation Through donor support, we provide scholarships and financial assistance so that cost is never the reason someone misses out on a H A R D program Your generosity helps ensure that families facing financial hardship, youth who need safe and enriching summer activities, and community members of all ages and abilities can fully participate in the programs that make summer special
Support from our community—especially through the “I ♥ H A R D ” campaign—helps fund program scholarships, enhance park spaces, and expand inclusive recreation opportunities across our district As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the H A R D Foundation relies on philanthropy to bridge gaps and ensure that H A R D programs remain accessible, welcoming, and impactful for all
This summer, I invite you to join us in creating a more inclusive and connected community When you support the H A R D Foundation, you are investing in equitable access to recreation, lifelong memories, and a healthier future for our neighbors
Thank you for being part of this shared commitment to our community
Warm regards,

Lori Taylor, President
H A R D Foundation Board
