Set on a hillside above Mold, the redevelopment of Theatr Clwyd transforms Wales’ largest producing theatre into a more open, accessible and sustainable civic destination. Originally opened in 1976 as a multidisciplinary arts centre, the Grade II-listed building has long served as a cultural focus for North Wales. The project builds on this legacy, reconfiguring and upgrading the existing complex to better support contemporary theatre-making while strengthening its role as a place for community use, learning and social exchange.
