Harold Hill Town Centre redevelopment - Farnham and Hilldene Estate RESIDENT LETTER
August 2023
An update on the regeneration and improvement works for Farnham and Hilldene Estate We're keeping neighbouring residents living within the redevelopment up to date on the phases of the regeneration project and the additional repair work that is taking place to support residents while they are living on the estate. Background The Harold Hill Town Centre Masterplan is split into three sites and phases which include: Phase One - The Family Welcome Centre and Medical Centre, already underway Phase Two - Chippenham Road, estimated to start on site in Winter 2024 Phase Three - Farnham and Hilldene Estate, estimated to start first sub phase in 2025 All dates are indicative and subject to change. Progress Phase One - Demolition is almost complete at the Family Welcome Centre site. Phase Two - The latest public consultation for Chippenham Road runs until 8th August. The recent drop in sessions were overwhelmingly positive and supportive of the proposals for the redevelopment. Please visit www.havering.gov.uk/haroldhilltowncentre to take part. Phase Three - This estate will have a number of sub phases to allow us to minimise the impact on local businesses and residents. In the meantime, it's important to us that the estate is maintained for the benefit of everyone living, working and visiting there. Please see more information in the next section below. Upcoming works at Farnham and Hilldene Estate Although the estate is part of the regeneration programme, we are working hard to improve the area and make it more pleasant for our residents until the estate is redeveloped. We are carrying out improvement works over the coming months to improve some of the fundamental parts of the buildings including security to communal areas, drainage both external and internal and overall decoration including lighting within the communal spaces. We have also increased cleaning and staff presence in the area, too.
Before
From the project we hope to see a reduction in antisocial behaviour and also for residents and visitors to experience a nicer, safer environment in and around their homes which they can be proud of. This will be carried out through our contractor BTS. Through our main repairs contractor Mears, we will also be carrying out property MOTs which allow Mears to identify any repair work needed within your home. This work has started on Chippenham Road. The photos opposite show an example of recent work completed to remove graffiti from the ground floor of Farnham Road Block 21-63.
