LOCAL RESIDENT LETTER

JUNE 2023

We wrote to you earlier in May to outline the current uncertainty regarding future building safety standards and to explain that Havering and Wates have taken the difficult decision to pause the construction at Waterloo and Queen Street. Understandably, some of you had some questions, which we hope were addressed at the meeting on the 25 May. Thanks to everyone that came along. The following pages outline the information shared, questions asked and actions recorded. The full presentation is available to view at www.havering.gov.uk/12sites on the Waterloo and Queen Street web page, under the 'story so far' section. You can see all of the milestones and resident updates listed there, too. We will continue to keep you updated as we make progress. In the meantime, please do get in touch if you have any questions or concerns. Contact details are on the back of this flyer. We said

Further notes

Wates Construction will be undertaking drainage works on site from 5 June on the SouthEast corner of the site, adjacent to Waterloo Road and the railway line.

The works will last approximately 6 weeks and will use a small excavator.

The stock condition surveys for the properties backing onto the site have now been completed. The final reports will be posted to residents this month (June).

The surveys have been completed by Havering Council free of charge to the residents.

A stock condition survey will be undertaken to the remaining properties in Cotleigh Road.

Residents will be contacted in the next few weeks and advised of dates for the site visits.
