Community Justice Center
CJC has officially been open one-year! We serve people who are victims of interpersonal violence, sexual abuse, and youth violence.
Our mission is to allow victims to live free from violence and abuse and hold offenders accountable by providing easily accessible, coordinated, and comprehensive services in a single location. These services come from five distinctive professional groups: government, faith, education, business, and nonprofits.
We center our efforts around hope, healing, and justice and understand that the root causes of crime involve the same issues as the social determinants of health We are growing as a nonprofit with the experience and expertise of our other nonprofit partners within the Harrelson Center and the interpersonal safety field across our region.

Housing Navigation Early Success
Housing Navigator Nikki McLaurin has provided case management for 30 clients, with 9 already completing the 90-day program to stabilize housing. Two homeowners in heir properties and seven families in rentals were able to stay in their homes.
Our program fills a gap in our community by supporting people who haven’t experienced homelessness but are at high risk - those who, as Nikki puts it, “are one unforeseen circumstance away from losing their housing ”
The program offers referrals to community resources, financial stabilization assistance, and help to identify & enter alternative housing.

Powering Hope: A Mom’s Journey Toward Reunification
Healthcare Navigation
Last month, a mother of six children reached out to Help Hub, determined to reunite with her children, who are currently in foster care She had secured employment & new housing, saving enough money for her security deposit and first month’s rent.
When she contacted Duke Energy to start service, she discovered an old bill that needed to be paid before service could be turned on.
Other agencies couldn’t help, leaving her feeling desperate.
Help Hub was able to help pay her bill. Her power and move into her new place the next day.
This milestone allowes her to begin the next step in reunification: overnight visits with her children. The family is counting down the days until they are all together under the same roof again.
285 people have already received healthcare navigation this year.
Connections continue to be made to healthy food resources, primary care, insurance options, specialty care & education.
