The summer holidays are here and Ramu is in his hometown in Kerala.
Shhh! Quiet now, don’t go in that roomyour Ammavan is sleeping. He was up all night looking for a python.
A PYTHON ?!
Kochamma, have you ever seen a python?
Of course! Do you know how big it is? It is even heavier than the wet clothes in that tub! It is thicker and longer than this sari!
Is it longer than your hair, Chechi?
Of course! It is three times longer than this ladder or that boat!
Ammooma, does the python sleep all curled up?
If it is hungry, it lies curled like one of these murukkus.
But when its stomach is full, it lies stretched out like that snake gourd there.
...kada
Is that thing hanging there on the tree a python?
Is that a python winding through the water?
Uff ! ENOUGH!
He’ll know what to do. I’ll ask him. I’m going to wake up uncle.
Ayooo!
Ramu's holiday was more exciting than usual. There was a python in the house! Everyone tells him something about the python, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come...
