ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Natalia Alvarez, born and raised in Santa Cruz, Bolivia where light, nature, and rhythm taught me to see beauty in everyday life. That connection shaped how I experience space not just by how it looks, but how it feels. I’m inspired by quiet moments, natural textures, and the power of thoughtful details. Through tennis, photography, and time in nature, I’ve learned to slow down and focus on what truly matters, lessons I bring into every project. I design calm, intentional spaces that invite comfort and connection. To me, good design is not just visual; it’s how a space works, feels, and stays with you.

PROJECT OVERVIEW NEXT is a legal workplace focused on collaboration, mentorship, and strong cultural connection. Their office serves as the operational anchor for the firm, encouraging deeper engagement by supporting teamwork, shared purpose, and meaningful in-person interactions. These are key reasons legal professionals choose to come into the office. The firm is navigating the new realities of hybrid work while balancing prestige and tradition with digital transformation, equitable experiences, and human-centered design. They face common tensions in the legal field, such as work-life balance, physical presence, and the need for an inclusive and welcoming culture. Because of this, they require a workplace that adapts to the evolving needs of their teams.
CONCEPT Inspired by the strength and purity of White Onyx, the design reflects NEXT’s values of integrity, clarity, and long-lasting quality. The stone’s natural layers represent the structure of the firm and the way each role supports the next, creating a clear system of teamwork and growth. Its veins guide the organization of the space, forming direct paths for movement, communication, and daily workflow. Light plays an important role, similar to how onyx reveals its character when illuminated. The office is planned to feel open, calm, and balanced, combining focused work zones with collaborative areas that adapt to different needs throughout the day.

CONNECT
The main goal behind the logo design was to create a mark that feels human-centered while still showing clarity and strength. The soft curves introduce warmth and openness, and the clean lines add structure and confidence. The single continuous stroke reflects the onyx-inspired idea of flow and connection, representing how the firm moves together as one. Overall, the logo presents a modern and welcoming identity that aligns with the experience NEXT aims to offer its clients and team.

RECEPTION
A welcoming and approachable arrival was the guiding intention behind this space. Warm textures, soft lighting, and clean geometry work together to create a calm first impression that feels both professional and human centered. Clear sightlines and intuitive circulation help clients feel comfortable the moment they enter, reducing stress and encouraging trust. The environment reflects NEXT’s commitment to creating shared, people-focused spaces that support clarity, comfort, and a positive start to every visit.
SHARED SPACES
These shared work spaces were planned to strengthen the collaborative culture NEXT values. The medium conference room and case room each support different modes of teamwork while maintaining a consistent focus on clarity, connection, and equitable participation. Their material palette, integrated technology, and accessible writing surfaces work together to create environments where ideas can be exchanged openly and efficiently.
PRIVATE OFFICES
The design for these offices reflects NEXT’s goal of supporting growth, mentorship, and a clear sense of professional progression. The Partner office uses a darker, richer palette with real wood applications to create a more elevated atmosphere. One that feels grounded, confident, and suited for focused client conversations. The Associate office stays lighter and more approachable while still offering the same thoughtful functionality and comfort.
WORKSTATIONS
The workstation zone was planned to support NEXT’s goal of fostering connection while still
protecting focus and individual performance. An open workflow encourages quick touchpoints and builds a sense of shared purpose, allowing colleagues to collaborate naturally throughout
the day. At the same time, each workstation provides a defined personal surface for concentrated work, offering balance between team interaction and private task time.
LARGE CONFERENCE ROOM This conference room was designed to feel like NEXT’s most polished and welcoming meeting space. A place where clients immediately sense clarity, confidence, and care. The materials and lighting were chosen to create a calm, grounded atmosphere, while acoustic treatments help keep conversations focused and private. The room easily supports both in-person and hybrid collaboration with built-in display connections and a charging thread that keeps the table clean and ready for work.
WILDCARD
Supporting meaningful rest throughout the workday was central to the creation of this wellness lounge. The room brings together soft materials, gentle lighting, and natural tones to form a peaceful retreat where employees can unwind and reset. A variety of seating postures, including reclined, lounge, and grounded options, gives each person the freedom to relax in the way their body needs, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to both physical and emotional well-being.
WORK CAFE The workcafe was created as a space where employees can connect, relax, and work together in a more casual way. It is meant to be separate from client areas so people can feel comfortable and have a sense of privacy during the day. Warm colors, soft lighting, and different seating options make the room inviting and support everything from quick conversations to small group gatherings.

COMMERCIAL TEAM PROJECT REVIT, ENSCAPE, PHOTOPHOP PARTNER: ELLA HOLLIS LOCATION: SEARCY, AR YEAR: JUNIOR YEAR 2025
PROJECT OVERVIEW This pop-up for Bank of America invites people to explore that question in a space designed for connection and comfort. We used a mix of soft and deep colors to create an intimate atmosphere, while square shapes throughout the layout echo the brand’s symbol and suggest stability. To make the space feel open and welcoming, we added a coffee bar and outdoor seating drawing people in and encouraging casual conversation. The goal was to build an engaging environment where financial services feel approachable, and where visitors feel seen, supported, and inspired.

PROJECT OVERVIEW 61594 Hosmer Lake Dr Bend, OR 97702
Ethan and Elise have just hired you to design a home located in Bend, Oregon, United States for their small family of three. They have asked for your help in designing a final home that addresses their needs and family goals. Ethan and Elise are in their 50s with a 10-year grader at home. Two years ago, Ethan was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of a major injury while serving in the military. Due to this injury, Ethan is wheelchair bound. This event has created significant lifestyle changes. Therefore, the family would like their home to consider aging in place, universal design, wellness, and trauma-informed design. Because Elise’s investment firm has been extremely successful, this is to be their dream home and the budget is open. They also request the home be no larger than 3,700 sq. ft.
CONCEPT This home is envisioned as a nurturing nest that supports healing, growth, and deep connection. Blending the elegance of modern French Provincial design with soft organic textures, it creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. Prioritizing accessibility, wellness, and aging in place, the layout is intuitive and safe. Nature, light, and cozy private spaces work together to offer a peaceful sanctuary where the family can thrive and feel truly at home.

KITCHEN The kitchen emphasizes natural light, an open layout, and easy circulation, with accessible features like varied countertop heights and pull-down cabinets. Every detail supports a functional and inclusive cooking experience.
LIVING ROOM The Nature Nest living room serves as the home’s central retreat, designed with an open-plan layout that supports flow, accessibility, and connection. Natural light enters through the skylight and full-height sliding doors, while smart-glass and custom panels provide privacy or conceal the TV without disrupting the open feel. The space remains functional, balanced, and centered on comfort and wellness.
PRIMARY BEDROOM
The master bedroom is designed as a calm, restorative space with warm wood tones, soft lighting, and natural textures creating an immediate sense of comfort. Large
windows bring in natural light and connect the room to
the outdoors, enhancing its peaceful atmosphere. A walkin closet behind the bed, accessible from both sides, adds convenience without disrupting the room’s gentle flow.
PRIMARY BATHROOM The master bathroom creates a warm, calming atmosphere with natural materials like stone and wood that give it a spa-like feel. An open, accessible layout includes wide paths, a lowered sink, grab bars, and bench seating for comfort and safety. Soft light filtering through plants at the bathtub wall brings nature into the space, adding a peaceful, relaxing touch.

CULTURAL PAVILION
05
PROJECT TYPE: PAVILION ENSCAPE, REVIT, PHOTOPHOP LOCATION: MEXICO YEAR: SOPHOMORE 2025
PROJECT OVERVIEW The cultural pavilion, El Refugio del Sol, is a space designed to honor the ancient Maya culture while embracing the natural flow of light. The round, one-floor structure centers around a skylight that bathes the interior in natural light, reflecting off the Maya calendar placed at the heart of the building. This concept symbolizes the Maya’s deep connection to the cosmos, time, and the sun, while the circular form fosters unity and harmony within the space.
CONCEPT Maya culture is known for its deep connection to nature, the cosmos, and time. Their art and architecture often reflect their beliefs in the cycles of the sun, moon, and stars, as well as the importance of nature in everyday life. The Maya used geometric shapes, like circles and squares, in their designs, symbolizing harmony and balance. Their structures, such as temples and pyramids, were built with great care and attention to detail, often aligned with celestial events. The Maya also valued simplicity and function in their designs, creating spaces that were both beautiful and practical. Their culture’s focus on spirituality, time, and nature greatly influences the way their architecture and art are viewed today.
