HIGHER EDUCATION CEREMONY 101 YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY READ THIS.
ARRIVAL Arrive in regalia and cap, carrying your hood - NO LATER THAN 1:00pm Cap tassel should be on the LEFT side of your cap Hoods should be unbuttoned over your RIGHT arm during the ceremony When you arrive at the ASLC, go to the Graduation Check-In Room - 101 A&C Check in at the table, double check the processional order & get in line STAY IN LINE once you're there; remember who is in front of you! At 2:55pm, the processional will leave the room & enter the theater Music will be playing leading up to the procession Follow your marshal to your seat Doctoral students will be in the 1st row Master's students will be in the 2nd & 3rd rows

PRESENTATION OF THE CLASS OF 2019 Presentation of Class of 2019 -
DOCTORAL RISE AS A ROW WHEN INDICATED BY LONDON DOCTORAL PRESENTATION: Doctoral presentation is first, row to go out to the RIGHT & line up on stairs Shake hands with faculty on stage, then those off & exit the opposite side of the stage & loop back into your seat & sit down
MASTER'S RISE AS A ROW WHEN INDICATED BY LONDON MASTER'S PRESENTATION: The 1st row of Master's students will go out to the RIGHT & line up on stairs The 2nd row of Master's students will go out to the LEFT, walk UP the stairs, across the back of the theater & down the stairs to join the line

MASTER'S PRESENTATION CONTINUED: When your name is called, walk onto the stage toward WHO & WHO Hand hood to WHO TURN & FACE THE CROWD (folks will be taking photos so smile) BEND at your KNEES, KEEPING YOUR BACK STRAIGHT Become a Master of Higher Education Shake hands with faculty on stage, then those off & exit the opposite side of the stage & loop back into your seat & sit down Closing Remarks - Dr. Guthrie No Recessional, guests will be dismissed to the reception
Stay for Class Photos Go to the Reception & Have a GREAT TIME! You're welcome to leave whenever you like, the reception will end at 4:45p. The SLC will lock at 5:00pm, so please make sure you have everything you brought in with you & may have left in the prep-room.

Should be on your head. Tassel should be on the left side (because you turned your tassel at your undergrad ceremony).
Should be on, over your clothes and whatnot. I would suggest steaming or ironing it before the ceremony.
Should NOT be on, carry it in with you. Please make sure you have it. That's what this whole thing is about!

PARKING The closest parking can be found at: Traditions Parking Garage 810 Traditions Way Tallahassee, FL 32304 The other most accessible parking may be found at: Woodward Avenue Garage 1198 North Woodward Ave. Tallahassee FL 32304 Things to note about parking: We don't have reserved parking spaces, so both you and your guests should account for potential parking problems in their travel calculation. I would suggest Woodward over Pensacola as coming from Pensacola requires weird navigation, walking uphill, and potential issues with the construction.
