In January of 2016, Doceo Office Solutions founded ‘Doceo Gives Back,’ our corporate giving program. By the end of 2017, Doceo donated $23,654 to organizations that include the ALS Association, American Cancer Society and Children’s Miracle Network. This year, we will directly tie our giving to every copier or printer order that we receive, and the new format will give our customers the opportunity to select the nonprofit organization that will receive our financial support. We will donate $50 for every Toshiba, Sharp or KIP order that we receive and $25 for every Lexmark order that we receive throughout the entire year. Using this format, we anticipate giving over $25,000, primarily to local nonprofit organizations selected by our customers.

Corrections to March and April Newsletters It has come to our attention that 1st Choice Computer Solutions' name was printed incorrectly in the March Newsletter. Chamber Announces Promotion The chamber recently promoted Autumn Hanzlik to Office Manager. Hanzlik, previously Office Coordinator, was hired full-time in April of 2017 after working part-time as the chamber's Operations Coordinator. In addition to being the "face" of the office, Hanzlik assists all other positions on a daily basis. She also handles the chamber's accounting needs. The chamber would like to commend Hanzlik on her consistent professionalism and kindness to others. "We can always count on Autumn to brighten our day with an inspirational quote, thoughtful gift, or fun fact," says Emily Freiert, Marketing and PR Coordinator. "She truly makes the office a great place to be." Congrats, Autumn!

Organization Development and Training (OD&T), a Hanover-based strategic consulting, coaching and change leadership firm, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Grace W. B. Elsner, founder and owner of OD&T, has over 25 years’ experience in leading and managing transformative change, developing leaders, facilitating strategic communications and maximizing organizational performance. Elsner designs and facilitates customized workshops, retreats, meetings, executive offsites, team building and coaching focusing on strategic planning, leadership, change management, teamwork, communications, service excellence and organizational effectiveness. She provides results-based consulting, organizational assessment, training and executive coaching for a wide range of clients, including healthcare systems, manufacturing and service-based companies, federal and state agencies, educational institutions and nonprofits. She has served as adjunct faculty for University of Maryland, Towson University, Baltimore City Community College, and has been a guest lecturer at Penn State University. Elsner holds an M.S. in Applied Behavioral Science from John Hopkins University and a B.A. in Speech Communication from Shippensburg University. She is also a graduate of the Fellows in Change Management leadership program at Johns Hopkins University. Elsner has served in numerous volunteer and leadership capacities for United Way of York County, American Red Cross, VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove, First United Methodist Church, Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce and Shippensburg University, and is a past recipient of the YWCA Hanover Women Making a Difference award.
New Oxford High School Looking for Businesses to Exhibit at May Day Event Every year, New Oxford High School (NOHS) holds its May Day event. The tradition dates back over 50 years. This year’s May Day will be on Friday, May 18. NOHS is planning on including a Business Expo/Career Fair at the festival to give students a chance to meet with and get to know local businesses. 2018 Chamber Legislative Roundtables Chamber Legislative Roundtables are held quarterly on the FIRST Friday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at Dutch Country Restaurant. Please join us for the next roundtable on Friday, May 4. Please note, we have a new format for our roundtables! As the chamber continues to develop a legislative scorecard, we have restructured our roundtables to focus on issues and legislation that is of upmost importance to the Hanover business community. Throughout the year, we will continue to follow up with our local legislators to ensure that the voices of the business community are heard. Over the next year you can expect to see a scorecard (similar to a report card) of votes which we will track based on issues chosen by chamber members. Currently, we are watching legislation pertaining to worker’s compensation and opioid abuse, 529 plan reform, regulatory issues, redistricting of the US Senate seats, and the state gubernatorial and house races. BARLEY SNYDER OPENS THE DOORS OF NEW HOSPITALITY GROUP AND ADDS HARRISBURG ATTORNEY Barley Snyder recently formed a Hospitality Industry Group to focus on the legal needs of businesses such as hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, breweries and leisure activities that help make the region an exciting and attractive place to visit and to live. The firm has decades of experience in helping hospitality industry clients build a successful business, whether that be aiding the construction and financing of a five-story hotel in a famous tourist area like Hershey or Gettysburg, counseling on the acquisition of a liquor license in Lancaster’s thriving downtown business district or helping a startup team of entrepreneurs open a brewery in downtown Hanover. Barley Snyder’s Hospitality Industry Group has now pooled its resources of about 10 attorneys and professionals at the firm with experience in the industry both in central Pennsylvania and throughout the mid-Atlantic to serve those businesses whose main purpose is to make people happy on a daily basis. Additionally, Barley Snyder has hired Lori McElroy as the newest attorney in its Tax and Business practice groups. McElroy, an of counsel at the firm, is the latest addition to Barley Snyder’s newest office in Harrisburg. She has experience in working with qualified retirement plans and the governmental regulations that follow them. She also has experience in helping companies establish the complex employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) that have become popular as a profitsharing employee perk.
EAST COAST GREEN HIRES LAWN AND LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE MANAGER East Coast Green recently hired Gary Huntsberger of Hagerstown as its new Lawn and Landscape Maintenance Manager. Huntsberger’s career in lawn and landscape maintenance began in the early 1990s with J.C. Ehrlich Pest Control Company. He realized then how much he enjoys working outdoors.
ACNB BANK EMPLOYEES CONTRIBUTE MORE THAN 7,500 VOLUNTEER HOURS IN 2017 In 2017, ACNB Bank’s employees supported 165 community organizations in the bank’s primary market areas and collectively contributed 7,532 volunteer hours, which are valued at $179,938 in Pennsylvania as designated by the industry standard set by www.independentsector.org. In addition, staff members made a positive impact in the local community by coordinating a number of drives and collections, raising funds to benefit local organizations, and educating youth and adults on the importance of developing sound financial skills. In 2017 alone, the Bank’s employees collected 367 toys, 1,650 pounds of food, 173 coats, 227 books, and more than 350 school supply items; raised $32,887 to benefit local community organizations and $3,125 for hurricane relief efforts in Texas and Florida; helped 184 local residents shred 12,900 pounds of confidential documents; and delivered financial literacy presentations to 1,288 students and adults. DOCEO OFFICE SOLUTIONS HIRES KIMBERLY CREGAN DOCEO Office Solutions has hired Kim Cregan as a Technology Consultant for their growing Sales Team.
Cregan will educate and provide office solutions to York County businesses and non-profits that include multifunction printers, desktop printers, wide-format systems, hardware/scanning systems and document management software. Kim brings over 20 years of sales and customer service experience to DOCEO. Prior to joining DOCEO, she was the Controller at Carpets by Martin where she was responsible for all internal operations. MICHAEL FLEMING PROMOTED TO HANOVER CENTER MANAGER AT NEW HOPE MINISTRIES Michael Fleming assumed the position of Hanover Center Manager at New Hope Ministries after serving most recently in the Assistant Manager role. Fleming has been with New Hope since 2013. In his role, Fleming is responsible for overseeing the crisis assistance and stability programs for people seeking help from the social service agency. Fleming is fluent in Spanish, recruits and manages agency volunteers, and collaborates with community organization partners.

Ticket holders will stroll around the downtown, visiting different businesses and tasting a variety of beer, cider and wine. Participants will also enjoy live music and special deals on a variety of in-store items. New this year: food trucks! We're excited to be offering a food truck area for Hanover's best food trucks. Main Street Hanover’s newest event has grown from Main Street Hanover’s oldest event. Join us for ArtsFest on September 8 in Downtown Hanover. This event will consist of Chalk It Up, the chalk art festival, bringing out families and artists to enjoy sidewalk chalking along with other events being planned. In store are new activities like a Pretzel Parade live auction, artist vendor area, live art demonstrations, kid crafts and additional fun art centered events! Stay tuned for more details!

Spring is here and we are looking forward to beautifying Hanover’s downtown with beautifully planted and maintained hanging baskets.
