Leadership Hanover is a unique leadership program focused on developing connections with key leaders in the Hanover community.

The program is designed to help make individuals more successful by better knowing the Hanover area, networking with key business men and women throughout the community, and establishing strong relationships with other participants.
The 2018-2019 session begins in October. Applications should be completed and returned to the Hanover Chamber office by July 31, 2019.
Meeting once a month for six months, the program focuses on major areas of the community like local government, education, economic development, and more.

FORE the Win: Golfers Enjoy the 49th Annual Chamber Golf Outing Hanover Chamber members, guests and volunteers enjoyed a day of golf, networking and fun at the 49th Annual Chamber Golf Outing presented by Ox Industries. The event drew over 130 golfers to the Hanover Country Club, with proceeds benefitting the chamber’s workforce and economic development programs. It was a gorgeous day for golf with the sunshine and temperatures remaining at a comfortable level throughout the day. 2018 Corporate Challenge: Register Your Team to Earn Bragging Rights Registrations are now being accepted for the 2018 Corporate and Community Challenge scheduled for Friday, September 21. Will your team be the one to take home the traveling trophy? The Corporate Challenge is comprised of a full day of fun teambuilding activities and friendly competition. Past events have included obstacle courses, laser tag, tug-of-war and dodge ball. There will be two tracks this year, with Track 1 being a more intense competition. This year’s event will be held at Adams-York Sports Performance. Lunch and light refreshments are provided with the cost of registration. Ready to register? Teams are comprised of six participants; each team MUST include two females, but the criteria end there! Challengers of any age, profession and ability level are encouraged to participate, and teams are invited to create a unique name that sets them apart from the pack. Proceeds from the Corporate Challenge benefit the Chamber’s workforce development programs. The 2017 event raised approximately $4,000 for the chamber's workforce development programs. The Hanover Area Historical Society is sponsoring a bus trip on Thursday, September 13, 2018 to Bryn Athyn, PA to visit the Cairnwood Estate (the home of John Pitcairn), the Bryn Athyn Cathedral, and Glencairn, a museum of religious art and history. The bus leaves Hanover at 8 a.m. and returns at approximately 7:30 p.m. Cost is $120 and includes tours, boxed lunch, transportation and driver's gratuity. This trip is open to the public! Hanover Land Services Hosts Mixer
New Pool at Hanover Country Club
Hanover Land Services, Inc. (HLS) held its first chamber mixer on Thursday, June 7. Over 60 guests attended the event. HLS served barbecue and macaroni & cheese from Boneyard Barbecue, as well as a variety of snacks and beverages. Guests enjoyed playing cornhole and touring the facility.
The Hanover Country Club is pleased to share their newly renovated pool and golf course with members and prospective members! From "kids eat free," to a brand-new pool and kiddie pool renovations, to 4th of July fireworks and extensive golf and children’s activities, Hanover Country Club offers something for everyone.

ACNB Receives Industry Recognition
Businesses from the greater Hanover area are invited to join hundreds of residents for the Fourth Bi-Annual Hanover Area Community Meal Packing Event. The goal is to pack 100,000 meals to feed the hungry through school feeding programs, orphanges and disaster relief. Two packing sessions will be held beginning at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2018, in Fellowship Hall of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

The 40-Year Club consists of bankers completing 40 or more years of service in Pennsylvania’s banking industry, who are currently employed with financial institutions that are members of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association.

FULTON BANK PROMOTES COMMERCIAL MARKET EXECUTIVE Krista Snyder Darr of York was promoted to commercial market executive in Fulton Bank’s York market. In this position, she will be responsible for leading a team of commercial relationship managers, community involvement and contribution efforts. Darr joined Fulton Bank in 2013 and most recently held the position of senior lender. PRESIDENT OF OCKER & ASSOCIATES APPOINTED TO THE STATE BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY Michael D. Ocker, CPA, of Ocker & Associates was recently appointed by the State Senate to the State Board of Accountancy - Pennsylvania Department of State. Ocker was nominated by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, and he will serve a four-year term. In this capacity, Ocker will serve with other Board Members to monitor and regulate the practices, regulations, and licensure of public and certified public accountants in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. C.S. DAVIDSON NAMES EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR C.S. Davidson is pleased to announce that their employeeowners awarded Robin A. Kohler the 2017 Employee Owner of the Year Award at the annual State of the Company meeting. Kohler has been dedicated to the ESOP culture and promoting C.S. Davidson as an employee-owned company since 2009.
BARLEY SNYDER ANNOUNCES STAFF TRANSITIONS Barley Snyder is proud to announce partner Shawn Long has transitioned into the role of chair of the firm’s Construction Industry Group. Long takes over for partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott, who had been the chair of the group for most of the last year and served before that as the group’s co-chair for 10 years. Di Stravolo Elliott continues to be the chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. “Shawn is more than capable to take over as the chair of our construction group,” she said. “He’s got deep roots in the area and has proven many times over that he is a great attorney and leader. This group is in very good hands now and in the future.” ACNB BANK PROMOTES FOUR OFFICERS TO FIRST VICE PRESIDENT ACNB Bank has promoted four officers to First Vice President including Laura L. McCusker, Cheryl A. McVay, Gary W. Rappoldt and Merle J. Zehr. In her current role as Community Banking Officer, McCusker leads and directs the overall performance of the Bank’s Community Banking function by working with the Regional Sales Managers, Community Banking Managers, and other collaborative teams to achieve the Bank’s business objectives. She is also responsible for the ACNB Bank Customer Contact Center.
In her role as Treasury Management Manager, McVay oversees the Bank’s Treasury Management function with responsibility for the development and implementation of products and services to help business customers manage their finances including business online banking, ACH origination, online wire services, positive pay, remote deposit capture, and various sweep accounts. In his role as Regional Commercial Lending Manager, Rappoldt is responsible for a team of commercial lenders and works to meet the commercial banking needs of business customers located throughout the counties of Adams, Cumberland and Franklin in southcentral Pennsylvania. In his role as Regional Commercial Lending Manager, Zehr is responsible for a team of commercial lenders and works to meet the commercial banking needs of business customers in Hanover and York, PA, and the surrounding markets. Summer on Main Street
Summer is in full swing in downtown Hanover! Sunshine, Sip & Stroll success! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the first Sip & Stroll of 2018! Main Street Hanover’s part-time event & merchant coordinator, Lauren Bupp, and our many volunteers would like to thank all who attended. Downtown businesses partnered with Pennsylvania-made breweries and wineries to present a downtown event like no other. Ticket holders received a map of all the stop locations and a collectable sample cup as they ventured out into downtown to enjoy it as it was meant to be enjoyed – while Sippin’ & Strollin’! This event was the largest we’ve had with over 25 stops. The full day of events included the Home Brew Competition plus a live band playing in the evening, making it a day to remember in downtown. If you missed Sip & Stroll, please save the date for our Fall Sip & Stroll on October 13! We hope to see you then! Tickets for the Fall event will go on sale September 13. Christmas in July – July 14 July's second Saturday event features an Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt! Search downtown for Hanover’s Elf on the Shelf – ‘Marty Main Street’ from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find Marty at participating businesses downtown! If you follow the clues you will find the prize hidden by the sneaky elf. Play on Instagram and win a downtown family prize package. Main Street Hanover wants to celebrate the holiday season this summer with some fun ‘Christmas in July’ activities and fundraising opportunities. Be downtown for July’s 2nd Saturday and learn about the new Santa’s Cabin and Christmas plans for 2018.

Main Street Mini-Golf – August 11 Downtown merchants have teamed up to create one-of-a-kind mini-golf holes in their businesses. We invite you to participate in a mini-golf tournament unlike any you have ever seen! Simply come downtown, start at any participating location, grab a map, and play! Golfers will spend the afternoon enjoying a walk through downtown, visiting businesses, and playing some of the most unique mini-golf holes in the area. Main Street Mini golf runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, rain or shine! ArtsFest feat. Chalk It Up – September 8 Main Street Hanover’s newest event has grown from our oldest event. Join us for ArtsFest on September 8 in downtown Hanover. This event will consist of Chalk It Up, the chalk art festival, plus new activities like a Pretzel Parade live auction, artist vendor area, live art demonstrations, kid crafts and additional art-centered events! Donations – Downtown Hanging Baskets Main Street Hanover is again collecting donations to place hanging baskets downtown! Summer is here and we are looking forward to beautifying Hanover’s downtown with planted and hanging baskets. Please consider helping to make Downtown Hanover more beautiful and inviting by sponsoring hanging baskets or making a general donation. Please note that all baskets will be located in Center Square. This program also includes maintenance so that our flowers will look beautiful throughout the season.
