More than 1,500 attendees were greeted with sunny skies, comfortable temperatures, and low humidity at the third annual Snack Town Brewfest in June. This year's festival took place on Saturday, June 22. New this year were the Amish Outlaws, a regional cover band. Their high-energy performances kept the crowd on their feet until the festival ended at 5:00. Also new this year: special VIP glasses! VIP's recieved full size, belgian-style glasses upon entering the festival at 12:00. Yet another reason to upgrade to VIP next year! With 40 breweries and wineries in attendance, as well as eleven food vendors, attendees had the opportunity to taste a wide variety of brews and foods. As for activities, attendees could choose from yard games such as giant Jenga, giant dominoes, and corn hole.
Event proceeds will go towards economic development and workforce initiatives that benefit the greater Hanover area. The chamber would like to thank the attendees, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and the Hanover Borough for their support. Utz Quality Foods donated a combined $200,000 to the Hanover Public School District and Conewago Valley School District in June. The $100,000 donation to Hanover Public School District will fund equipment and training to enhance its high school mechatronics program and increase exposure with an expansion to include middle school students. The $100,000 donation to Conewago Valley School District will be used for mechatronics equipment for the new Colonial Career and Technology Center at New Oxford High School, which will support manufacturing and trades education.

Chamber Hosting Leadership Hanover Info Sessions Do you want to make connections in the community? Are you looking to develop yourself professionally? Look no further! Leadership Hanover is a unique leadership program focused on developing connections with key leaders in the Hanover community. The program is designed to help make individuals more successful by better knowing the Hanover area, networking with key business men and women throughout the community, and establishing strong relationships with other participants. Meeting once a month for six months, the program focuses on major areas of the community like local government, education, economic development, and more. Employers who invest in Leadership Hanover are investing in employees that will become well-rounded and well-connected leaders. For more information and to complete an application, visit hanoverchamber.com/leadership-hanover. The 2019-2020 session begins in October. Applications should be completed and returned to the Hanover Chamber office by August 30. For those with questions about the program, the chamber will be hosting two informational sessions on August 13. Both afternoon and evening sessions are available for convenience. The afternoon session will take place from 12-12:30 p.m. at the Hanover Chamber Office, and the evening session will run from 5-5:30 p.m. at Miscreation Brewing Company. 2020 Discover HanoverÂŽ Ad Sales Have Already Begun! Discover Hanover MagazineÂŽ is back with some BIG changes! The chamber will now be releasing our magazine in January instead of May, starting with our 2020 issue. This means our advertisers can now take advantage of a FULL YEAR of advertising! Burkentine Builders Celebrates 30 Years with New Location
SEK Gets Top Honors in CPBJ Reader Rankings Awards
To coincide with its 30th anniversary in June, Burkentine Builders hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting of their new headquarters in south Hanover.
SEK, CPAs & Advisors was recently recognized in Central Penn Business Journal’s third annual Reader Rankings Awards.
In anticipation of the anniversary, Burkentine recently went through a rebranding and added the slogan, Live Different. Burkentine is constantly pushing the envelope for change and making sure to stay ahead of the curve as they create communities and buildings that feel different. Burkentine’s new office space includes farmhouse/industrial style and rustic trends. It’s a very unique and intricate building which features raw steel structures on the inside, lots of barn wood accent walls, barn-style lighting and a barn metal exterior coupled with wood siding. Reflecting the culture of the company, the building dares to be different.
CPBJ readers were invited to vote for who they believe are the best of the best in the Central PA business community. Professional services categories included accounting, consulting, law, marketing/advertising, and more. Thousands of readers voted and SEK received top honors for the Best Accounting Firm category.

HANOVER LAND SERVICES ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES Hanover Land Services, Inc. (HLS) is excited to announce the addition of four new team members in their Hanover, PA office. Robert Crist Jr. joined the HLS team as a Survey Technician with over 30 years of experience in survey computations and plan preparation. He will provide support for the many PennDOT and MDOT clients served by HLS. Chad Chenoweth joins HLS as a Survey Technician/Survey Project Manager with over 18 years of surveying experience. He has extensive experience with all aspects of surveying projects and will help HLS serve both private and government clients. Jeremy Moore recently joined HLS as a Survey Instrument Operator. He has five years of experience with GIS and is also a licensed Drone Pilot in Charge.

QUINN EXPANDS TEAM Thankful for the growth customers have awarded them, Quinn is experiencing another hiring spurt in both production and service during its 25th Anniversary Year. Quinn is also continuing its dedication to training the local community by hiring interns for both the art and marketing teams. Julia Gronaw, a 13-year veteran of the full customer service experience, will now bring that start-to-finish magic to the Quinn customer communications team. New print operator Jeff Farrell, Jr. brings 10 years of varied printing experience to Quinn’s production team. His strengths include improving efficiency while continuously learning. Cameron Marr, a graphic arts major from Carroll Community College, joins the busy Art Department.
Seth Janney, a marketing major from Cornell University, will be supporting his first Marketing Team at Quinn.
Quinn, one of the industry’s largest full color fabric printers, is the top rated Flag, Banner and Display supplier in the promotional products market.
BARLEY SNYDER NAMES NEW HIRE Barley Snyder is pleased to announce the hire of attorney Adrian “AJ” Dean II. Dean is part of the Barley Snyder Real Estate Practice Group and will work out of both the Harrisburg and Lancaster offices. He is a graduate of the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he received the Lena L. Hale Award given to graduates chosen by the faculty with outstanding extracurricular contributions.

ArtsFest ft. Chalk It Up – Sep. 14th Come participate in Main Street Hanover's new artcentered event called ArtsFest, featuring the Chalk It Up competition. ArtsFest will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature art vendors selling their works, live art, as well as interactive and community art. Artists of all ages are invited to come to downtown Hanover to participate in an event that celebrates local artists! Participants of the Chalk It Up event will create their own works of chalk art on sidewalk slabs for all to see. Judges will choose a favorite and prizes will be awarded to the winner. Registrations are now being accepted for the 2019 Corporate Challenge scheduled for Friday, September 13. Will your team be the one to take home the traveling trophy? The Corporate Challenge is a full-day of fun team-building activities and friendly competition. There will be one track this year, with activities similar to a CrossFit-style workout. This year’s event will again be held at CrossFit Hanover. Lunch and light refreshments are provided with the cost of registration.

Challengers of any age, profession and ability level are encouraged to participate, and teams are invited to create a unique name that sets them apart from the pack.
