Separately, Hampton and Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH) have a longstanding partnership as neighbouring schools, which has recently been formalised and includes new Assured Places Schemes for pupils at Kew College Prep and Newland House School.

The Hampton Schools’ Trust brings together a group of strong, successful and like-minded charitable schools The founding Trust members: Hampton, Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep, Newland House School and Kew College Prep are all charitable, not-for-profit schools. Our shared values and educational ethos put pupils first, providing them with a warm, nurturing and intellectually challenging environment.

The formation of the Trust will ensure that our schools can invest for the future and plan with confidence. For families, this means greater continuity and breadth, alongside clearer routes to exceptional senior school education for boys and girls.

The Hampton and LEH Partnership Next door neighbours, Hampton and LEH are two of the country's leading single-sex schools. They have always enjoyed a close and collaborative relationship while continuing to cherish their own distinct heritage, identity and strengths. Hampton and LEH are now formalising their partnership to benefit pupils at both schools. As part of this partnership, Hampton and LEH will now both offer Assured Places Schemes to Newland House and Kew College Prep.

Assured Places Schemes to Hampton and LEH As members of the Hampton Schools’ Trust, boys and girls at Newland House School and Kew College Prep can take advantage of exciting pathways to Hampton and LEH through the introduction of new Assured Places Schemes. How will the Assured Places Schemes work? An Assured Place allows prep pupils to secure a senior school offer at Hampton or LEH without sitting the respective entrance exams.

Newland House School

Choice for All Hampton and LEH are exceptional senior schools but will not be the right choice for every child.

Instead, offers are made based on standardised assessments already in use at the Prep Schools, alongside guidance from the Headteachers.

By continuing to provide a rigorous academic and all-round curriculum, Newland House School and Kew College Prep will continue to guide and support families, ensuring that they make the right senior school choice for their child.

Pupils remain under consideration right up until the start of Year 6 (for 11+ entry) or Year 8 (for 13+ entry), giving every child the best possible opportunity to secure an Assured Place.

Hampton Prep Assured Places do not apply to Hampton Prep pupils who benefit from guaranteed automatic transition to the senior school.

Your questions answered Why are these four schools coming together to form the Hampton Schools’ Trust? Hampton, Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep, Newland House School and Kew College Prep are forming a Trust because they are like-minded schools based in South West London that share values and a clear educational philosophy that puts pupils first.

What are the advantages of joining together? The formation of the Trust means greater opportunities for every pupil. This includes shared facilities, expertise and best practice. It will also mean clearer pathways from sector-leading prep schools to exceptional senior school settings. By joining together, our schools will be better placed to invest for the long term, plan with confidence, and broaden opportunities for all.

How will the Trust operate in practice? The schools joining the Trust will become a single legal entity with the transfer of assets and liabilities being the main legal change, but with each school retaining its current name, Head, and local governing body.

What does a ‘charitable’ school mean and will the schools retain their charitable status? A charitable school operates on a not-for-profit basis. Members of the Hampton Schools' Trust are committed to the charitable education model for the long term.

This differs from school groups run by private equity firms or other external investors, where generating profit is part of the business model. All fees that parents pay to schools in the Hampton Schools’ Trust are reinvested directly into teaching, facilities, support and the wider experiences that shape each child's education.

Will there be changes to school leadership? Heads and Senior Leadership Teams across Trust member schools will not change and will remain operationally responsible for running each school. The Hampton Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, will lead the Trust’s Executive Leadership Group (ELG) and chair regular Heads’ meetings to discuss strategy and high-level decisions.

Will anything change about the individual schools’ day-to-day life or identity? No. Each school will keep their own individual names, sites, logos and uniforms. Day-to-day life and the character and community of the schools will also be unaffected. These qualities are at the heart of what makes each of our schools distinctive and why families choose them.

How much decision-making will remain with individual schools? Each school retains its own governing board and operational autonomy. Legal and structural matters sit at group level, but day-to-day operations, culture and leadership remain within the remit of each specific school. Over time, leadership teams across all schools will collectively explore the advantages greater collaboration could bring.

What does the formation of the Trust mean for girls? Girls will benefit from Hampton’s formal partnership with neighbouring LEH, ensuring that they have access to Assured Places at one of the country’s leading single-sex girls’ schools. They will also benefit from all of the wider opportunities resulting from the formation of the Trust.

When will the Trust come into being and what happens next? The Trust will officially come into effect from January 2027, but the Assured Places Schemes will commence immediately. Leadership teams across the Trust schools have begun to explore what greater collaboration will look like in practice.
